Car insurance renewal quote just landed.
Last year, £376.
This year, £635.
I don't bloody think so.

Today is a very, very good day.
(for non-musical reasons)

If one were to woo a lady with a succession of Reggae songs, where might be a good place to start? Without being too direct. I feel a good term would be blatant subtlety which i coincidentally may have just come up with yet cannot fully explain. I have no idea what i'm doing except steering towards the little bit of light at the end of this dark tunnel

In various locations across the country, railway workers are sacrificing their family Christmas time in order to perform vital upgrades to lines and infrastructure, improving efficiency and services to freight and travelling public alight. Spare a thought for these folks, up to their elbows in ballast and wiring and paperwork, as you tuck into your festive feast. I'll certainly be raising a glass to all my hardworking colleagues.👏🏻
And just in case anyone thinks I'm being sarky, no I'm 100% serious. I've done Xmas commissionings, and it's bloody hard work.

I am now a veteran here on BassChat. Does that just mean I'm old? 😉 😀

I would like to buy some flatwounds for my classic vibe 60’s bass. It’s a through the body bass and I’ve been told I need strings between 33”-34.25” I’ve looked at Rotosound RS77s but I can’t find the length of them.

How do you find out how heavy a red hot chilli pepper is?
Give it a weigh, give it a weigh, give it a weigh now. -
NBD - a Squier Jaguar. I didn't have any fretted basses but thought I didn't really have an excuse. Monk Montgomery's basses had frets, why shouldn't I have one, etc.?
Obviously, flatwound strings have gone on it. -

How can you safeguard against scams on Fb Marketplace?
There's a bass for sale on there I really would like, but I don't know how to safeguard against getting scammed. 😟-
Just a quick update ...
The seller has stopped responding to my mails.
He asked me last week when he could expect payment, I replied I needed the full price (which included shipping) before I could send him any money.
No response to that so I left it until this week to see if he was maybe offline at the weekend, but no reply by the end of Monday night, so I messaged again asking if he was good with progressing the sale and to provide shipping so I could pay, and still radio silence.
The item is still on Fb Marketplace for sale, so I guess he just wasn't interested in shipping it to me, which would have been nice to tell me instead of just ignoring me (I can see he has read my messages).
So a very disappointing end to this for me. 😞

@BigwanCan I ask what shipping company is being used, please?
I'm in the process of completing a sale for a bass in England and just need shipping costs sorting for final price of the item.I'm also NI based.

Folks, I appreciate all feedback here, thank you.
Just to answer some of your comments ...The item is not local to me, it's in England, I'm in Northern Ireland, so there's no way I can meet the seller in person and view the item.
I like the idea of a video chat to see the item, I may suggest this to the seller. The 'don't use Friends & Family' comment was a good call. I looked at this and there's no PayPal payment protection for this option, but there is if you select 'Paying for an item or service'.
I understand that not being able to meet the person and not being able to pay cash is a risk, but I hope that using PayPal with payment protection will be adequate (I hope it's not needed in the first place!).
