  1. I would love a vertical 210 cab for my RM800 rated to say 600w and a sensible price around £400 !!
  2. I ordered the RokSak Large bag from Bass Direct £34 delivered Fits the RM800 very well with a little space at the end and zipped pockets for cables
  3. Yep I amended my post as I believe it’s correct +6db increase would be impressive and balanced between matching cabs .. thank you Bill
  4. I’m sure that’s correct and two matching cabs equalling 4ohms will give me rated amp output and that would be very loud 🤟
  5. Well the Ampeg is rated to 400W and I can’t see me running it anywhere near its limit as being an 8ohm cab I would be running the RM800 flat out !! Two together I could then get full amp output but unlikely I would need 800W Might just look to add a second PF115LF
  6. I think hauling a large 410 cab about is a step in the wrong direction Two lighter cabs is more practical I think and you can choose to gig one or both depending on venue etc Granted a 410 would sound great but I think the future is smaller and lighter cabs
  7. That’s very true I’m adding some mids and taking a little bass out. As Shape IN adds 50hz boost you cannot achieve the same sound with only the EQ etc I like to think of it as enhancing the SHAPE sound ( smiley face ) and just adding a bit more punch. It seems to work 👍
  8. Typical settings Shape IN EQ IN Drive off SUB fully off I found that works nicely with my 115 cab Full yet punchy and not boomy played finger style
  9. Glad you’re sorted and happy with the amp so far. I find when you do use the compressor it’s best around 9 to 10 o’clock Drive only on a small amount when required, I think mine is only just on when engaged. SUB use sparingly as a little goes a long way on the low notes mostly I leave drive and sub off though I also run my input control at about 12 o clock which according to the needle very low to mid input. With such a lot of output power you have plenty of volume trust me Mine is with a passive bass
  10. Yep it was me who mentioned it !! Funny thing is I had the very first ABM heads back in the day and I discovered the Sub Harmonizer feature which is now on most of the heads still Hope you’re now enjoying it ? im loving the Shape IN and EQ IN and take out a bit of bass and boost the mids Great sound
  11. Yeah I guess it’s add to what I like or go for a cab that would be standalone but heavier to move etc etc I must admit the Ampeg cab is a full warm sound yet still punchy which i like
  12. Sorry just read your message and it does it even with headphones ? It sounds like your Sub isn’t completely off perhaps I don’t have the foot switch but you could possibly still have a tiny amount of sub harmoniser running which is wrong You could email Mark at Ashdown as they are super helpful
  13. I noticed the feet on mine are hard material and a slight vibration from my cab especially with the Shape button in You could check by putting amp on floor and make sure you’re not picking up vibration which can sound a bit like a harmony tone ! Apart from that assuming you have Sub turned completely down and you’re not cranking the input I’m not sure ? I run my input with my PBass about 1 o clock which is lower than the VU suggestion of just hitting the red on a loudest note. I prefer a clean input signal and use the master as it has a ton of headroom
  14. So what’s the verdict ?? It’s a great amp and has a great range of sounds
  15. At present my rig is the Ashdown RM800 EVO II and a single Ampeg PF115LF 8ohm 400w cab Now in the future if I need more sound spread without PA support should I either a) Add a second matching Ampeg b) Add an Ashdown ABM115 cab c) Use a new 4x10 Ashdown cab as a single use cab I’ve not mentioned 210 cabs with the 115 but that’s an option too What do folk think ? Or do nothing use the PF115LF and find PA support when needed ??
  16. Ashdown have a 5 year warranty 👍
  17. I’m liking the shape IN today after a play at home Not sure how it would sound at band practice though Shape IN EQ IN slight reduction in bass, mids slight boost, 1.5khz slight cut treble flat
  18. I tried the Peavey Minimax 500 and found the fan to very very noisy Totally unpleasant if at home or studio Shame as apart from that it was decent and low cost In comparison I can hardly hear my Ashdown RM800 fan
  19. That’s some extreme EQ settings !!
  20. As the Rootmaster carry bag is out of stock I decided to find a case on eBay to transport it around ( when those days return) Pic of one on eBay large enough I hope for the RM800
  21. They respond really quickly if you email them, they are in Essex and very helpful guys
  22. As an owner of the Ashdown RM800 EVO II I would recommend looking at either the RM300 or better still RM500 I went away from my Ampeg PF800 and much prefer the Ashdown The RM800 is very loud so as you were looking at less watts perhaps the smaller versions would suffice but they are priced fairly close to each other. Lots of different sounds and great for rock It’s a well thought out amp and sensible price. Reliable too I believe
  23. It’s interesting that assuming most run the shape button out ?? The EQ settings appear to be very similar between users Mostly a small bass boost I love the low volume tone of the shape button IN but I think you would be buried in the mix perhaps ?? Does add a ton of low end
  24. I think black goes better with Rosewood / Pau fretboards Job done
  25. Is it arriving today ?
