According to their site, they're not taking on custom orders.
I will be going for Bright Onion though - they tick all the boxes (and I'm a sucker for a pink LED).Oh I'm sorry about that. Must have changed policy in the time since I last bought from them.

Bright Onions are excellent and will make you whatever you want. Just ask them to make you one without the loop and buffer and they will!

One fo the best cabs out there. Good seller too

I don't think that's a bad length, but perhaps 4.5m would be a good shout?

IIRC they were Czech made late 80s early 90s and are a rebadged MTD "Grendel" (which in turn became the MTD Kingston). Decent, well put together instruments. Asymetric neck I believe too.

I was once told not to play a 5 string as it wasn't a real bass.....

Apart from the tie-up with Tanglewood, AFAIK, all Overwater basses are made in the UK.
You could always email them and ask for some details on your new bass.
Sorry, should have been clearer, this is an Overwater by Tanglewood bass!

I don't know if used to belong to a BCer, but I recently bought the 2011 Overwater Aspiration Elite that was on sale at Bass Direct and I am really impressed with how good it is.
I was in the market for a nice but inexpensive fretted 5 as a second bass, and this fits the bill really well.
First of all, it's in great condition. I don't think there's a mark on it anywhere. The fingerboard needed an oil, but other than that all is good.
It's a five piece neck through, maple and something walnut-like would be my guess, with what appears to be an ash body capped with a burl maple top. Very nice.
It's 35" scale, so a nice tight B string, and the 19mm spacing at the bridge is perfect for me (same as my Franz basses) and the main reason I got it.
EQ is a three band Overwater system designed by John East. The control cavity is thoroughly shielded using paint and copper tape. The bridge and pickups are Overwater branded too, but I assume made in Korea along with the bass itself. The standard tuners were mini Gotoh-like ones, but as the bass was a bit neck heavy I have swapped them for Gotoh ResOLites which take the weight to bang on 9 lbs and have sorted the balance. Other than that the bass is stock.
Live, the bass is really articulate: every note comes through crisp and clear. I honestly wasn't expecting it to sound as good as it does!
I've played basses way more expensive than this that weren't half as good!

Gives me late 70s vibes. I love the TF basses, and that looks a stunner.

I'd just leave it - it's mojo!. Trying to repair it might make it more obvious, plus it's likely to keep recurring if that's how you play.
Random question but how long is your thumbnail? Could you keep it shorter?

Hi, could you please post dimensions? Seeing if my GK MB Fusion will fit nicely
Ah yes, that would help! It's quite big, with the internal dimensions 330 x 406 x 178 mm. You could fit loads of Fusions in it!

I have a set of chrome Gotoh style machine heads from an Overwater Aspiration bass. 3 over 2 configuration for a right handed bass. They are in excellent condition.
They look the same as these.

This came to me in a trade. It has very low miles and is in good overall condition, so much so it still has the plastic film on the zips.
The Fusion website says "A slimline padded gig bag which is lightweight and portable. Ideal for carrying a bass on short journeys, where few accessories need to be taken along."
Posting will bump the price up, so ideally it's buyer collects for £20.

These are terrific heads. The EQ is very versatile, and the ability to switch between no eq/eq1/eq2/eq1and2 means a lot of sounds are available.
Plus Nick is a BC legend and all round good guy.

This amp is now withdrawn.

The mid to top end Corts are superb basses. Someone will be very happy with this.

This is used and does show some signs of wear, but it's still in overall excellent condition apart from some splitting to the rubber base. It's designed to hold a double bass drum pedal, but works great as a gig bag for small amps or cables and straps etc.
The internal divider and storage pocket are removable.

Hi,
I've got the Cort A5 Plus SC with Mk 1 Bartolinis and 34" scale (standard stock bass).
I do find the B string a bit 'lacking'. Reading your description, the problem seems to be solved with the longer scale and the replaced Barts. Would you say this is the case and if so is your bass still for sale at £900?
Hello
Yes the bass is still available. The B string sounds great on this bass, as do they all

Dropping this to £950 including UK shipping.
