I had tech troubles in the intro to the opening song of the set... everything worked fine at rehearsal on Wednesday... everything worked fine at soundcheck... and then on the 'wuh' of 'one two three four' it all goes Pete Tong 🤬🤬 the problem appears to lie either with my FX board or the cable snake, when I took them out of the path it was all good. Investigation works tomorrow.
Sounded ok once we got going though

Alex has lots of different instruments (he’s friends with the Carillion guys and plays their guitars in his other projects) but he plays the Statuses when he’s touring with Slipknot. I seem to recall the designed him a pointy, kinda X-shaped one, but it never made production beyond a few prototypes.

Quote from the Carillion site: "Obviously, Alex will also still continue to play his beloved Status basses, this is a non-exclusive arrangement...". So it looks like that will continue to be the case. That Carillion bass does look gorgeous though. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it has Status pickups and EQ.

I love Richer Sounds. Hands down the best service I’ve ever received in a chain retailer.
I remember many many years ago going to their Bristol branch for a set of Wharfedale Delta 30 speakers. I'd seen good bang-for-buck reviews and they were pretty much the best I could afford on my limited budget. I was all ready for a pushy salesman to try to talk me into something more expensive, so I went in ready for an argument and said to the assistant, "I'd like some Wharfedale Delta 30s please". He just sighed and smiled and said "Oh I love it when someone knows what they want... I'll just go get you a boxed pair..."

If you haven't got one already, buy yourself a cheap Chinese multimeter from B&Q or The Range.
I have a very nice Avo meter that I *ahem* borrowed from work on a very long term basis.
Thanks all. Plenty to go on 👍

Having said that I like simple functionality, this (when combined with one of their lovely hollow-body guitars) is my favourite headstock of all. I love art deco style and this to me is a thing of beauty. My mate has one of their exquisite jazz guitars and it is probably the most beautiful instrument of any type that I have ever seen.
