  1. Shed "hot n dangerous" (cocco specials) with standard Jazz passive electronics give me all the bite and balls I need. Sans amp BDDI provides extra drive and 8 10s create the wall of noise I like to refer to as "the delicate sound of thunder". I like its plug and play simplicity. I dont think this will ever change from my recording tone. Depending on my mood my Trace Elliot T-bass or my 2eq 'ray might take the place of my Jazz. I have too many basses....

  2. going on the features it doesn't have a great deal in common with either. IMO a P or a J bass is defined by its pickup configuration, body shape and neck profile, (obviously these all contribute to its tone), this has none of the features of either by the looks of it. That isnt to say that you couldnt get a P or a J tone (or at least something simular out of it) using its onboard electronics but I wouldn't say it falls under either category.

  3. [quote name='OutToPlayJazz' post='669550' date='Nov 29 2009, 10:14 PM']I'm waiting for someone to turn up on here with a "Rail." Fred.T.Baker had one when I had a couple of lessons with him in the late 80's. Seriously cool thing! :)

  4. Basses BY the settee in my case, L-R Gibson Grabber 1970's (all original), Fender P-bass (US/MEX Modded, Delano Pup, Switchcraft under mounted jack, Paint job, Hipshot hardware, for sale) Fender Jazz (CIJ 66 reissue, Modded, Badass II bridge, Shed Hot n Dangerous pickups, sanded neck) Aria Pro II SB Elite II 1983 (for sale), Peavey T-40 1979 (maybe for sale)

  5. Im shopping for new pots for my P-bass which currently doesn't have any onboard controls and I have a few questions which need answering. If anyone can help I'd be very appreciative. :)

1, What are the standard pot resistance values in a P-bass?

2, How is is Mark Hoppus P-bass wired? as i am thinking of possibly going volume only.

3, What make of pots should I go for?
