Bit steep you say - gone now, I wonder what for?

One day...
Said they were rare!!.

Mine is out there somewhere - sold it when I was trying to thin down to Tom1946.

2. This is mine.

Plenty of spare cable!!

Eased it out of the way - these are the best shots - I think I could
make out where everything goes.

See how you get on.

Cheers. :)

3. Oooooo!

Look what someone sent to me - thinking it was my old one.
Not mine.

Bit on the steep side but a Red T-40, on this side of the pond is. . . .
SO Rare!

I checked the output of both pups before putting them in the body, and the vol pot has been changed for known working pot, and so that leaves option 3 which is what i'll try next.

After that, i'm dumping the switch and going V V T :)
I have now found it!
I can get pics to you tomorrow.

Having said that. . . . . if yours is a "Project Bass" I would go V V T.

On mine, as with any two pick-up/one Vol set up, it's etiher Bridge - biting but thinner sound
or Neck - big thud and not much bite or both together.

When both together, the neck slightly overpowers the bridge - with a V V T, you can dial in
any tone you like.

Will send you a pic anyway.

Cheers. :)

You are probably familiar with the Let's Talk Guild site but just in case ... http://www.letstalkg...B-series-basses
Ahhh.
Yes, from some time ago but I haven't looked there yet - will pitch in there
and see what comes up.
Ta. :)

Only trouble is, being a US site, most posts/owners are in the USA.

I'll give it a go.

Cheers. :)

6. I echo the thoughts of all so far.

Always had him in the background , no matter how my musical tastes swung
but it is only in the last 6 or 7 years, I have Really appreciated his contribution.
Never met the guy, never seen him live but as I sit here typing this, I have a lump
in my throat and a sad face.
The likes of someone like him coming around again, is very, very unlikely.

Top bloke.

Those speed knobs look really alien on that bass.
Yes, they are not original and as I said, I suspect that bass is a special - I have never seen
another like that. :)

Are those P90s?

If so I don't think I've seen them on a bass before.
Hi. No, they are not P90's.

They are Guild's own single coil pick-ups, also fitted on the B301/302which don't look much
but "don't arrrff pack a punch! :)

Anyone seen one of these/ had one/know someone who has had one. . . . anybody??

Cheers. :)

8. There is one bass that seems to have eluded me - and other Guild fans, I'm sure.

This is it!

SB 203.

The one that go my interest must be a special - the two pick-up shown.

They did an SB 202 but the pick-ups were middle and neck - I think the special was
a 203, that was modded??

Anyone got one/played one. . . . . seen one!!!?

I have a 301 and the timid looking pick-up, would surprise a lot of players - just fancied
a bridge/centre combination.
Power, puch and bite!!

Stands back for a deluge of replies. . . . .

Hopefully!

:)

I think i may be a loser here, since Pete the Axe has not posted since October !

The Arai SB's seem to be a bit different, so it appears in my searches on the net.

Would you take a detailed pic of your circuit, mr Flat ?
Ok. No worries.

You may have to sit tight for a while, not entirely sure where it is!
I'll go a-hunting!! :D

Cheers. :)

10. It is hard to believe it is that long ago.

He is still a massive influence to a lot of people and the music still lives - only a
few months ago, in the break at a gig - a brother and sister, maybe 18 to 20,
said how much they enjoyed the Lizzy tracks we played.
So, got chatting - they were massive fans and they started reeling off all the
albums they had got and their favourite tracks! Very impressed!

He had gone ten years before they were born and I'm a little uneasy about
saying this but I really think they knew more about Phil than I did!!

His music "really does" Live on!!

:)

11. Weird!

I am usually pretty good at tracking down small/oddball/rare makers but this has me stumped!

Looks really nice - the slotted screws make it look like an older/small volume maker - cound be
a one off?

I also have way too many but a few years back, I'd have haggled with you for this.

I'm off to do some more digging!

:)
