14. I would consider looking at the Michael Kelly Dragonfly basses. Have tried a few through work, and they sound and play great. They also look pretty cool (and unique)
Ibby's are great IME. I think the Rockbass Alien might be in your price range too. Some of the Wahsburn acoustics I've tried have been very good also. Tanglewood have a lot of models around that price too but I haven't come across any at the same standard as Ibby or Washburn.
15. I had one a few years ago in Black. Only sold it cos i found my love for jazz necks. Saying that it was and still is the best setup bass i've ever owned. Kinda regret selling it. Nevermind! You'll love it!!
I have one of these and, coincidentally, also bought it at Coda Music (Stevenage). It's a 1988 MIJ model and I seem to get on with it fine. However, since finding this forum last year I realise that I'm probably the only person in the country who has only had one bass in the last 22 years, so I'm hardly the right person to offer any advice. In fact I'm feeling embarrassed just admitting my bass history and hard-done-by in comparison with all you lot with at least have half-a-dozen each.
16. We sold our last one a couple of days ago. Such a nice bass, a real collectors piece. Enjoy!
 17. What a rig! Just Like McCartneys!
heres a picture of the backplate of the 1516 which should hopefully sum up its capabilitys a bit better.
18. That is a bloody BEEFY Bridge! A near certain upgrade for any Fender Style bass.
Think its 19mm spacing, too wide for my liking.
19. Awesome story! How about a picture? lol
The PJBS was the first bass I ever really wanted. Infact my very first bass was a PJBS clone - the Marlin Sidewinder. I had a red sidewinder as it was similar to the picture of a red PJBS I'd ripped out of Bass Player magazine. My Dad bought my first Bass and Amp for me. So here's the wierd coincidence! I still have the magazine page - and in the corner it is dated September 1989. Jump on however many years (I think it must have been 17 odd!!) - I finally got to buying one after a G.A.S attack and a bit of ebay abuse. I didn't pay that much for the PJBS I found - I'm looking at it now - it's the same red - and it was made in 1989!!!
20. Awesome, more the merrier!
Ahhh!!! Sweet! - Best I get a pic of mine up then! Zoe should be along shortly with a nice black JBS too, I'm sure!
21. nice to see another rig with 2 4x10's!!
Here we go then! Just a quick picture for now as I am yet to get a moment to snap properly! Here's my brand new Hartke rig and my two Shukers, Doodle & Baby! I'm really pleased! LH1000 + HX410 x2 (TC Electronic G Major 2 and TC Electronic Nova Dynamics (not shown)
22. Anyone had any experience with these? For the money they look great CLICKY CLICKY Plus these are on 863-865mhz which is not affected in the dreaded Digital Switch Over. !
Very good! I suppose the old addage of 'You get what you pay for' will apply here. Good luck on your quest, JTB
