These are excellent basses.
I've got the passive version and love it. Easily as good as any US Fender I've played.
I agree, but i have only played a couple of US fenders. Didnt want to make that comparison as i didnt feel like i could. Good to know some others think the same -
Price drop to £340.
Could do with getting the money, so needs to sell. Great bass with a meaty, punchy Pbass sound, and the added bonus of a jazz Pup to use and abuse too.

Hi ive got an Ibanez BTB series bass. Not sure of the exact model, but it is this series of basses. It was my fist ever serious bass, and i dont want to sell it. I learnt on it, and have learnt to love it. The one problem it has are the Pups. They are the Bartolini MK1 (made in korea i think), and to be honest, they are pants!! Fine when your playing quietly in the house, but not great otherwise. And its a shame, because i really do love this bass apart from this one thing. So....anyone got any suggestions of what might go nicely instead of the Bartolinis? and also, anyone with experiance on how to go about doing the mod? I dont usually do it myself, but thought i might try this time
thanks in advance
Hardly. Jon was always a capable and intelligent player and eager to learn. All I did was give him some new perspectives. I haven't heard him play since about 1994 so I suspect he is a lot better now than he was then (and he was cool then). Anyone got a recording of him playing (his website is still 'under construction')?
He got skills
im trying to convince him to put a couple of vids up on his site, but he keeps putting it off. ill take my own camera up there sooner or later though. Hes playing in a band again though if your ever round these parts? -
Im up for this yeh. Dont know what ill have equipment wise by then, but ill bring a few bits and bobs. let you know closer to the date!
Look up Jon Caulfield in Cardiff. I taught him in 1946 and he is now a well respected teacher in S. Glamorgan.
Tell him Rob Palmer sent you.
ha, im learning from Jon too. Great teacher!, So, we meet Yoda's Yoda eh Rob?!? -
Cheers Tom, hope you enjoy the Fender!
This might be unsuccessful but here goes...
I'm looking for a 4 string Jazz bass but would like to trade one of my basses. The bass would need to be in a good condition though! I can offer you:
Ibanez K5 with ACG EQ 02 preamp (very good condition, just a bit of buckle rash on the back of the bass)
OR
Tokai MIJ Precision (2007) with Fender alnico pups (mint condition)
OR
Steinberger Synapse (very good condition)
PM'D
I am in Coventry.

I had this bass once, and just to re-enforce what Theo has said, it does have some scuffs, but this does not effect the sound of the bass. Very versatile, and very very punchy!

Hello all, recently acquired this as a trade from Dosi Y'Anarchy (Theo)
This is the bass:
http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0135760306
it also has a Leo Quan Badass II Bridge.
i kinda withdrew this bass, because i accidentily advertised it wrong, so withdrew it so i didnt have people going bonkers :-S. Now though i need the money to fund another purchase, so its back up.
Lovely bass, very slimline jazz neck and very punchy on the Pbass P-up! The pickups are US components. The J pickup is a "noiseless" pickup. This is the mistake i made before! It also has an active 3EQ. Very versatile!
I am willing to post without the hardcase, usually costs around £20. It will be fully protected, and is usually with you in 2 days.
Theres a thread going on in this forum about how much these are worth, seems £360 is about fair. Pictures below -
buckle rash on the front? what on earth had he been doing with it?
Awesome basses though, good luck with the sale
I was quite shocked/impressed when i saw it too! haha

Niiiiiice. I noticed the grimace when you kinda tripped over on a double thump. Dont be so hard on yourself. you definitly did hold the groove down. Tre tasty!
