Im exactly the same. Just started to try and "re-learn" how to sight read. I used to be able to do it (on violin :S) and im hopin for a moment of inspiration where it all clicks back into place. still waiting ...... :)

2.
If you dont get any takers for the full rig, will your friend consider splitting the rig?
Although this wasnt an option at first, he will now split the rig. £500 for the cab, £900 for the head. So you got a £50 drop. Any interest??

Yup, the original seller knew my friend and needed cash quick. My mate bought them all, kept what he wanted, and is now selling what is left

5.
Is your username dedicated to the John 'JR' Robinson album?
It isnt. Its a song my band have written, and it was only afterwards we realised there was already an album called this. Its all good though, im sure "JR" wouldnt mind us borrowing the name for a while :)

6. As stated above EBS TD650 amp and a EBS Proline 2X12" Cab for sale. Mint condition (never gigged). This sale is for a friend, who has recently picked up an endorsement deal, and is looking to sell on a few bits and bobs. (his words not mine)
Would post pictures, but they are mint condition and dont look any different to any others that you can see online! If you still would like pictures i will arrange for that to happen.
Dont think i need to put all the spec on here, as im guessing if your interested, youll know how good these are. Again though, i will send spec to anyone who needs it.
Will not be able to sell seperately sorry.

8.
Really not bad at all. One of the best budget recordings I've heard for a long time. Kick is a little flabby and could have done with a little more time on the mix (there's a small amount of low end clash) but not bad at all! Congrats!
Thanks! Really appreciate that. Especially considering who the comments come from. The whole demo was done on a £300 budget, and over two days so it was a bit rushed. But its over a year old now, and we are looking to go somewhere again since having interest from some peple. So hopefully can make it better next time. thanks again though

9.
Hi,
Just starting out with the Bass.
(couple of months now)
Based in Bristol (UK)
I've also been playing acoustic 6 string guitar for about 1 year now.

I've joined a band on bass with some friends which is very good for the learning curve but could do with a lesson or two to check I'm going in the right direction.
( don't want to get bad habits etc.)
Any tuition in the Bristol area, (south side), would be good.
Mainly for technique and pointers on building a bass line etc.

Thanks
i know of an excellent teacher in cardiff area. guess itd be 30/40 minutes drive for you? if your interested, let me know and i can PM you his contacts etc

10.
I have tried many, the best acoustic sound I think is the Eko (I think it's about £275?)
At the moment I'm playing (and it's my main bass) an Ibanez AEB 8E. Not the loudest acoustic but plugged in it's massive. After every gig someone comes up and says how good it sounds. It's the bottom of the Ibanez bass AEB range (£250) I can't imagine just how wonderful the other models are.
I've not tried anything more expensive than the Eko, I tried a Fender years ago and liked it (the black finish was better that nutural)
Ibanez go up to about £400, for £600 you should get something pretty amazing.
I have a Ibanez in my arsenal at the moment. Its electric though. I actually really like it. It was bought as a budget bass, to serve as backup, but its really useful to have. Extremely versatile, and with 2 bartolini mk2, it can be loud as hell! may well be worth checking them out in acoustic.....
