Ibanez basses
Cheers. I am seriously tempted by the BTB676, but it'll have to wait. I've got the ok from the wife to get a VMJ Fretless in the next couple of months. I may wait until the end of the year for a 6 string... I'm getting used to the 405 pretty quickly. I've just changed the jack socket as the old one had a loose connector in it and the pots need changing. I'm going to see about changing the hardware for black stuff, the current hardware is a bit pitted.
I was going to change the hardware but realised it's not good for me because of the neck. If I was to get some replacement parts for this bass if I have kept it, I would either of: - Located an Ibanez dealer and asked for the parts I need - Source parts from 3rd party companies. I heard hipshot make replacement bridges for the BTB? Check our www.bestbassgear.com (in U.S though but ordered through them before and they are excellent!) - As for the tuners and knobs, i was going to go with Hipshot tuners (or maybe gotoh ones?) and just normal standard knobs. Glad you are getting used to the fat neck!
  2. Hey guys! Got these Gotoh tuners for sale: http://www.bestbassgear.com/gotoh-sealed-tuners.htm They are 2 x 2 tuners. They are in chrome and in mint condition - Will sell for £20 POSTED I took these off a bass I bought because I wanted to convert the chrome hardware into black. You are welcome to come collect from West London.

    Ibanez basses

Love Ibanez! I just got a SR505 for a steal last week! it's just a wonderful bass to play! Brilliant for heavy metal as it has thumping bottom end and that's just keeping the EQ flat!
  4.
i'm interested in this if the above doesn't work out - pm'd!
You got PM'ed mate!
  5.
I have a padded gig bag - might be interested - does it fit a p-type bass?
Yup - definately fits a P bass. I have an Ibanez SR505 in there and it's roughly the same size as a P bass with some room. What's the padded gig bag you have?
  6. Hi all I bought an Ibanez SR505 bass with a Gator hard case yesterday Despite asking if I can get the price knocked down if I don't take the hard case or swap a hard case for a gig bag, he couldn't split the bass with the case because he didn't have a gig bag and was unwilling to sell the bass seperately for a cheaper price. I prefer gig bags over hard cases tbh as hard cases don't fit into my snug and small car and i can't exactly swing them around my shoulders if im moving with my bass from point A to point B. http://www.gatorcases.com/productsdetail.a...LID=2&PID=7 ^Exact model I have but a bass case obviously The cheapest I found these cases sell at £64 including postage at: http://www.millennium-music.co.uk/products...tail/key/p/ppp/ Will sell it for £25? Collection only unfortunately due to the size of the case and my lack of time packaging up this case properly.
  7.
pm sent
PM replied Thanks!
  8.
Oh yes. So if anyone is in any doubt whether the BTB series can cut the mustard in a hard rock band.. just ask the hell bull there. I'm hoping you sell this before I think of a way to avoid paying bills this month. I don't need a 5... I don't need a 5... I don't need a 5...
Tempting eh? remember my selling offer is only until the end of this week. If no one buys, i'm trading this beast
  9.
Ox, he say Ibanez BTB series is the bullocks...
A monster playing a monster! The perfect fit! I have added the price of £200 OVNO if anyone wants to buy the bass (Until the end of this week). Bass comes with a gig bag as well.
  10.
Got one of these...In Trans Red (Red Tiger look)...And it's an excellent bass! The neck is uber wide though the length isn't as noticable but combined with the collosal width to some people maybe it does show. String spacing is 19mm same as the 4-string for those whom want a wide spacing 5-string. Only downside is, if your like me and ride the pickups while playing it uses the same as the 6-string so...the pickup is very wide...It can create quite a reach to the G-string and confuse you into thinking the neck is wider than it really is. However, for slappers this bass is a sure fire shot! For a similar bass may I suggest you try the SR series? 16.5mm spacing, 34" scale length etc. OMG why didn't I see this before? MM / J combo...Ibanez...24 frets!!! DAMNATION!!!
Cannot agree with you more! The BTB bass is build like a tank and it even feels like a tank when strapped over your shoulder! The sounds it produces are so deep and rich - acoustically and plugged into an amp! I guess the wide body and chunky neck is the main reason let alone the vari-mid EQ with tweakable Mid frequency. It is slaptastic but too bad I don't slap, I'm mainly a pick player and the string spacing feels a far reach when plucking. Playing with my fingers is fine but I prefer a pick and using my fingers sometimes so I guess I need a bass with tighter string spacing. I used to own an Ibanez soundgear and loved them! Btw.... I updated the thread with pictures of the bass! Check them out all! I just put new D'addario strings on them last week. Excuse the poor photography, I tried to get the best angles but the polished up glossy body gave off too much reflection I blame the guitar polish I use! haha!
  11.
I doubt you would want it but http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=51133
Sorry mate, I'm looking for something closer to the BTB in regards of the brand, construction and the overall bass.
May I, Sir, humbly draw your attention to the following? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=49411 rolleyes.gif Thank you. biggrin.gif G.
Sir, you have a PM!
  12. Hi all I recently bought an Ibanez BTB 405QM in Transparent Black (Korean model) but upon receiving it, it seems like the neck is abit too wide/long for me (i should really appreciate 35" scale shouldn't i? ) I read Ibanez BTB basses has one of the best low B's and necks hence the reason why I purchased the 405. But in the end, it's not really my thing tbh... So I want another 5-string bass but perhaps with a small neck and tighter string spacing? Anyone who fancies a BTB bass over their 5-string bass, show me what you got to trade! I also don't mind putting in abit of money too if your 5-string is more expensive than the BTB 405! Or if you want to buy this bass, I will sell it if you don't have a 5-string to trade - the price im letting the bass go for is - £200 OVNO inc. an Ibanez gig bag. This selling offer will only be available until the end of this week. If there is no interest, I will be trading this BTB bass with geoffbyrne's Ibanez RD605 I'm in London btw if that helps!
