  1. I felt guilty about buying a stomp xl, but every few months it keeps getting better and better. All I need now is for the boctover to track a tad better and more synthy options
  2. Unfortunately this is my fretting hand, otherwise a pick would work fine. And King I'm glad you're back to playing, that's a rough time for the digits
  3. Last night I broke my record of never cutting myself with a cooking knife due to a nicely timed muscle spasm, got a decently deep one in the tip of my left pointer finger, the most important bit of flesh I have . I can afford a week without playing bass/guitar. But it got me thinking, what if I had a big gig tommorow? are there any tips or tricks of how to get away with it ?
  4. I don't really know why but the appearance of that bass makes me ill
  5. I love the sound of a stingray, but really get along with the actual basses, too heavy and the neck isn't to my taste. Since ibanez for some reason cancelled the atk there doesn't seem any options for that sound. Anyone else found a solution to this sonic issue?
  6. My one issue with the helix is the frankly bonkers settings that most devises are on by default, makes comparing amps/pedals almost impossible. Can I just have a flat eq on stuff ?!
  7. This devise is so unrealistic, I demand that the helix explodes when I put an active bass into a fender tweed patch
  8. Its almost the exact amount for a harley benton stingray My willpower is waning
  9. Installed the updated and holy crap, what an update. Oc2 seems to be near perfect with better tracking than the real one, earthquaker devises pedals, new amps and IR capabilities. This has saved me like a hundred quid instantly.
  10. I did not know there had been an update! Thank you ill give it a go
  11. As i've been learning guitar to add to my bass ability, ive noticed until very recently guitar has never really gotten past 1970 or so. Guitar with passive pickups into a valve amp with a few pedals has been the standard ever since. With bass we have had active circuits and pickups in our basses forever. Solid state tech has been way more successful , valves becoming an interesting but niche option. Only in the last 5 or so years has modeling tech become so good that guitarists can get their les paul into marshall plexi on a computer. Am I missing something that explains this difference in mindset?
  12. I'm having the exact same issue, I usually just use the compression in my amp/plugins with no issues, but I cant really find a setting on the hx I get along with. I swear the preset levels on every patch in the hx has just insane settings, why can't everything be set flat by default?!
  13. So I have a bunch of guitar necks that fit the body cavities, but the screw holes don't all line up. I' thinking I should use maple dowells to plug the holes in the neck and then re drill them? Any advice before I make a mess is welcome
  14. My issue is I want a pj one but with one of the pickguards from the jj ones, the burst with the white would be delicious
  15. If the 4 strings end up being light I don't think I'll be able to resist
  16. What's the weight like on these? They look perfect but my spine is fickle
  17. Is yours also 24 inch? The intonation on this thing is hilariously bad (when i can actually hear an audible note from the thing) I found some spare short scale strings at work amazingly, gona have a go at a restoration. Wish me luck, the electronics are DISGUSTING
  18. Found this odd little thing and got it for free. I think it's from catalogue in the 70s? The scale length seems to be shorter than a regular fender guitar which is baffling to me. I'm going to attempt to restore it, the electronics are really fragile and odd. Anyone know anything about it, and whether it's worth putting some effort into?
  19. Thanks for the tips! I have core exercises but I've been slacking on them. I have some general lower back problem, but the issue is I also have fibromyalgia ,so my brain takes the moderate pain signals from my spine and tells me that I've been run through with a sword during a flare up. I've been meaning to try out swimming for years now but covid threw a wrench in it.
  20. So through several conditions I as a 25 year old basically have the back pain of an 80 year old, which is obviously a slight issue on stage . My ibanez 5 string is luckily very light, and I wear a back brace thingy. Still after half an hour I'm struggling. Recently i've seen matt heafy from trivium has his own harness strap contraption which seems great, but is very expensive. I use just a basic nylon ibanez strap. Anyone have any experience with dual straps/harnesses? Or any lumbar tips in general
  21. Thanks people this has been very helpful! I'm in north Devon if anyone would be kind enough to let me experiment with theirs for a few mins. I think its gona be a case of waiting for one second hand to pop up now. It seems amazing just for bass, but the fact I can use it for guitar too is the real kicker i think
  22. Lovely bass, my btb is great, but did you find the sound improved much with the new pre? I feel like the preamp is the weak spot of these guys
  23. Hey guys, I've been getting the bits together to make a super super simple fuzz face ish clone as my first ever build. Any recommendations for beginner pedal projects that are more bass oriented? Also looking into some of these circuits, pedal companies must be making pretty tasty margins
