  1. I quite like the idea of playing one bass for all my gigs, and being known for playing that one bass/having that sound. That bass for me is my Fender Jazz bass which I've had for 15 years. I also have a Squier P that I play at home, to save my strings! Each to their own though. David
  2. Hi I totally understand your post-purchase nerves. However, you have nothing to fear. I have used a jazz bass for the last 15 years and have never played slap on it. In fact, most of my gigs involve playing Country, a genre in which the P Bass is supposed to reign supreme (older country anyway). You will have no trouble getting a big bottom end from the jazz. In fact I feel it has more true low end than the P, but with less low mid. The only jazz bass tone I don't get on with is the trebly back pickup soloed sound, which seems to be the default tone for many jazz bass players out there. It does so much more than that. Try using both pickups together and then back off the back pickup by various degrees to see which sound you like. The other thing to remember is that you liked the sound of the bass when you tried it. Trust your own ears! David.
  3. Great looking setup - Enjoy!! David
  4. I use a Nemesis NC115 combo which is pretty much the same amp, without the edge control, but 250w. I find the tone perfect for me and the power is plenty for what I do. In fact, a lot of Eden users use the amp set totally flat, with a little bit of Enhance if they want a slap tone. I also have an NSP115 speaker cab which I add to the combo if I want more grunt. Again this is a great sounding cab and very lightweight too. You can easily life it with one hand. Give them a try and see what you think. I thoroughly recommend them.
  5. Great cab! I use a NSP115 to add to my NC115 combo when playing large venues. The two 15s together give a great tone with tons of low end if required. David
  6. I haven't experienced the EMG select jazz pickups, but had an EMG Select P pickup in my Squier Precision. I found it ok, and gigged with it. I recently changed it for a Tonerider P pickup and found it to be an improvement. The bass sounds great now. And it was only £26 delivered. David
  7. Hi. Hope I can help as I use this drum machine regularly. You can change the number of beats in the sequence from 8 to 4 very easily. You need to go into the edit section (where you've already changed the quantize). If you continue to scroll through the menu it gives you the option of number of beats in the bar. Just change it to four and remember to save. Sorry I can't be more specific than this as I'm trying to recall from memory as I don't have the unit or manual to hand. It's very easy to do though. Good Luck David
