Nah,  what you have to do is list Paypal in the auction ,  as its complusory, but you can override that on collection only items by stating you will only accept cash, because its a collect in person auction.  A scam was revealed many years ago with collecting in person but paying with Paypal. Paypal allow this.  Its been well documented here so i wont go into it.

    Didnt know that thanks

  3. Any advice please.

How can I get the tuning key straightened without cracking the chrome?

Does anyone know who made the tuner. Its from a Rickenbacker 4001 C64 so its not the normal type tuner. Rick resource told me they  cant be bought and despite buying a new real Rick bass I get no response from Rick themselves so if I could find who made it i might be able to beg for a spare.

    Thanks

  4. Nik bought my G&L . Having met at Chi Mikes I let Nik take the bass home to make his mind up. I didnt for a second think that this was going to be anything other than a gentlemans transaction.

    And so it proved.

Ace guy to deal with. See you around sometime Nik.

  5. All the shippers I know of require the bass to be packed in a hard case, then a cardboard box.

Unfortunately the only case I have is a moulded shaped fender bass case which I would have to charge for and would be say at a guess £75 I still have to find a box   and a very rough guestemate on size and weight using ups insured for £750 is another £67.02

So shipping alone would be 160 euros although you do get a fender case, in addition to the cost of the bass

Please bear in mind that I would need to get a suitable box, to confirm the weights and dims,

    Gorgeous bass!
would you consider shipping to Belgium and how much would extra would that be?

    Hi

I didnt really want to ship in the uk, let alone Belgium, but I have shipped a bass to Belgium before but it was in a hard case packed in a cardboard outer. Im alway worried about shipping because the automated sorting system and often the courier drivers themselves dont make the likelyhood of the bass arriving in the same condition as they left very likely. I will look in the loft tomorrow and see if I have a case and a box and ge back to you.

  7. Rare Limited Edition Steve Barr dudepit limited edition in shoreline gold.

This is based on a Jazz Bass but has two lipstick pickups with much wider spacing than a normal jazz. It has a 3 band active circuit which I think is bartolini. Vol, treble, mid, bass, panpot. Can be used passive if you pull out the volume knob. Huge range of tones.

1.5/8 neck feels very nice. I will find a gig bag for it. fantastic condition IMG_3921.thumb.JPG.18aba609597bd7ca04be9305a45be133.JPGIMG_3922.thumb.JPG.1644bd227654a296da66f016c10a1d86.JPGIMG_3923.thumb.JPG.3f7e998beea71c60c03c04357afe4dfa.JPGIMG_3924.thumb.JPG.173b80b8b29aea9ea326dc21535d8bbd.JPGIMG_3925.thumb.JPG.73d064c0579defcfbd91d259f1df8b3a.JPGIMG_3926.thumb.JPG.23f75c20546f60368fff0526c07de7e6.JPGIMG_3927.thumb.JPG.62f787da8d6a373ed9de7542b9a76c56.JPGIMG_3928.thumb.JPG.57f2b575c374a7bbc548bb42fa3dfb0b.JPGIMG_3929.thumb.JPG.966dba0175ed750408b0a9b06980e6d1.JPGIMG_3930.thumb.JPG.84810bb04a44bf28ebdacc17a9747308.JPGPristine apart from a few marks on the end of the headstock.

  8. Lakland 44-64 precision was originaly called the Bob Glaub.  I cant remember what the shade of metallic green is. I have only seen one other lakland in this colour, I imported it from the states.

The bass is pristine apart from two very small marks by the lower strap button and a mark at the end of the headstock. [Why do drummers have so many cymbals?]

1 3/4 neck at the headstock end, and I think these are Hansen Pickups. Plays nicely [it was plekked at the factory] Sounds great and comes with tags, and a Lakland gid bag

I wont ship this but willing to meet up or deliver say 150 miles for diesel.  IMG_3895.thumb.JPG.4d8dc4d992fe7fad9ed55b7dae31fdf3.JPGIMG_3896.thumb.JPG.999d28f30ee914db0ef14ae2765f306b.JPGIMG_3898.thumb.JPG.6ba692f66c17728e25cc281409683353.JPGIMG_3899.thumb.JPG.464c6c1b1e9fae9a7792713fc82736f3.JPGIMG_3900.thumb.JPG.97d18ee5389089ead3ba05f4417bfd13.JPGIMG_3901.thumb.JPG.0f2e39e76c811b3ce941f820348bc1be.JPGIMG_3902.thumb.JPG.e0192076e746366f9a317e9d30d20157.JPG

Hey, just to give an update, I settled on a Behringer battery powered PA speaker with a bass pre-amp. I asked around and a few double bass players use these for outside gigs so thought I'd give it a try. So far really happy with it, apparently the battery lasts up to 12 hours, and it has a second input as well as a bluetooth function to pair with a microphone or MP3 player. Jamming with a drummer outside tomorrow so will see how it goes. It doesn't deal with the lowest notes on my 4 string Precision too well at a really loud volume, but at only £139 can't ask for too much.

It even comes with a mic and cable :) https://www.thomann.de/gb/behringer_mpa40bt.htm

How was the Behringer on the jam
