1.
Interesting, last month I ordered something quite similar which also had the higher price (around £1200). 1966 Fender Jazz in Sherwood green with rosewood board & pearl blocks, matching headstock, butterbean tuners, light relic - BUT - it going to be a PJ, with vol/blend/tone, and an ashtray over the front P pickup, with a custom pearl jazz pickguard. It was based on the Fender Adam Clayton model I really like the look of:
That colour just works
2. Thanks to everyone who has been in touch, I've been a bit hectic so this afternoon I'll get back to you

4. I guess a general note to anyone who is interested in offering something up, please send me pictures
5. Any pics buddy?? [email protected]
6. Number of strings is irrelevant, I'll consider anything really!
7. 4.4 kilos on my bathroom scales
8. Hi all I'm not based in Mexico anymore, I'm near Corby. However I frequently visit Manchester and Edinburgh. Balance is great, let me go check on the weight!
9. I neglected to put a price on this first time.......really my valuation on this depends on what I'm being offered in trade and I'm happy to adjust either way with cash depending on the deal. I'm only really interested in trading this, I have a Limelight jazz bass on it's way so I don't really need another jazz. I've only had this a couple of months. It's an absolute beauty, plays fantastic and is in great condition. It will come with a good quality padded gig bag and I'll restring for a new owner with their choice of strings (don't take the p*** though!). In terms of trade, I'll consider the following. Basses I'll take either 4 or 5 string.

Something Musicman flavoured
Something Warwick flavoured
Fender 2 tone sunburst with maple board Precision (this colour only)
A fretless
Amp (preferably a lightweight amp)
Decent 1x12 cab
Electric or Acoustic guitar
So, hit me with any suggestions!
10. Wow! This is beautiful!
11. I used a beautiful all black Streamer Stage I for an old metal band, worked a charm

Active Cabs

I had a slightly bigger ISP cab and it was insanely heavy. However, the sound that it made was incredible. I played in a metal band with 2 very loud guitarists, this amp had no problems at all cutting through without needing to go crazy on volume. Just an incredible rig, that's why I want to get a similar setup.
13. Errrrr yes that's the green I'm going for, not sure what that young lass is doing in that picture mind? She doesn't look that Mexican? Then again, who cares.......

That is kinda strange!! I've actually just managed to track down that Sounds Great in Manchester can get hold of ISP gear. The preamp is 279 new which is a fantastic price. The issue is that the cab I had previously is 1499 new!
16. A few years ago, I owned an ISP rig which comprised of a preamp and active cabinet. It was by a long way the best rig I've ever heard, let alone played. ISP gear isn't the easiest to get in the UK, so I'm wondering what sort of options there are out there for active cabs?? If anyone has any good recommendations, I'd be highly appreciative
17. I will for sure. Anticipating it will be done some time around mid June. I did tell Mark there was no rush as it gives me time to get the funds together, but I've already been able to pay half the total cost, so I think I'll be good to pay up whenever it's ready Can't wait!!! This will be my second custom build, the first was a Shuker and took 14 months so the short wait here is much better.
18. Sooooooooooo......... 60's jazz (stacked knobs), heavy relic, rosewood board with block inlays and bound neck. As for colour, I've asked Mark to match the green from the Mexican flag (it's something like sherwood green), I've spotted an after market scratchplate which is the Mexican flag and it's also relic'd, so I'm going to try adding that when I get it. If it looks crappy, I'll stick with a white plate. Also matching headstock.
19. I've just ordered one with a slightly more elaborate spec, it's cosing me just over 1100 in total.
20. I am in Manchester maybe once a month. Also, I've got friends who are fairly well connected in Manchester, I'll see if anyone knows the name and can turn up anything useful for you. Unless you get a volunteer soon, I will let you know when I am next heading that way.
21. I'm really tempted by this, totally don't need it but it's just such an amazing price. If anyone out there is umming and ahhing, these are fantastic instruments. Get on it!
22. Unbelievable price, these are great basses!
23. Well I'm not sure that such a colour is 60s, I'm really just a fan of the other cosmetic aspects
24. Forgot to add that I've asked for bound neck and block inlays too
