1. WITHDRAWN WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. 18 DEC 2014
2.
does this have the GB electronics
The GB electronics as we know them now have been developed by Bernie over the years, especially the latest, more complex boards like the one on the Rumour and available for the Spitfire too. So, if this is what you mean, the answer is no, this is the first prototype, it is twenty years old and the preamp is based on a LF442CN chip, with two microswitches (if it had the latest Rumour board the price would also be much different...). Having said that, the sound is modern, already GB-esque. I have taken the bass out for the first time in aaaaaaages to look at the electronics, and noticed a scratchy pot at times (just some dust from not playing, simply I have no time): I thought a little overall professional setup may be a good idea and HAVE NOW LOWERED THE PRICE TO £750 OR NEAR OFFER + 25 SHIPPING to help the buyer towards it. Cheers Claz
3. FENDER owners: going price for the current non-branded version of this case is around £140!!! (do a search and faint....), and the Fender version is now very hard to find. Looking for £90 incl. shipping (mainland UK, excl. certain postcodes) I suppose the title says it all: FENDER branded SKB bass case for Jazz / Precision, model 44PRO (the one with the 4 big latches approved by the TSA-Transportation Security Administration in the USA). Keys included. Here's the link to the current, non-branded version: http://www.skbcases....=782&o=&c=84&s= The case opens/closes perfectly and all the latches and the rubberised handle work as they should. No cracks, no broken feet, only a couple of superficial scuffs visible in the pictures (but isn't that what cases are for...??). Plush interior in excellent condition, with cushioned parts keeping your Fender J or P bass snugly in place when locked. Coming from a smoke and pet-free environment, so no smelly surprises. Shipped in a cardboard box for protection. Thanks.
4. That's a beauty Marc!! Did you use this at the Prince's wedding?? I bet it sounds very similar to my Fclef with Mike Pope 2-eq + tone control preamp and SD vintage single coils in '70s position, although the Fralins tend to be more "sizzling", almost with a "vibrato" built in... Brilliant!! GLWTS Claudio
5. Still no love for a piece of British bass-making history? It's there in the corner collecting dust... Without this one, Mark King couldn't have had his Spitfire!
6. 6 months, a price NEVER seen before for a Sado NYC, 6300 views... and not a lick?!? That scratchplate must be really awful then... LOL With the money saved on this 3.8kg beauty you can have a trasparent or white pearloid one from Roger Sadowsky in NYC.
7.
Nice! I think I'll have to turn of the laptop...it's giving me GAS:(
LOL "Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in..."
8.
Hi Claz ,I have owned a few NYC'S over the years ,And just an observation I think If you had put the clear scratch plate on it would have sold in the first week.I know why Roger put them on,but to me they always look wrong,' Anyway GLWYS.Rich
You know what, Rich? I have wondered about that too, but the tort one is the only pickguard I have (and it protects the original paint from nails/slapping, or a pick). And would somebody prefer a transparent one or a white pearloid? I'll leave the choice to who's next, I am sure Roger can help in some way: I have spoken to him in NY a few years ago and he's a top bloke, really caring for his customers. Cheers
9.
There's quite a few geeks on this site llol.... good the thing is cleared up
LOL Well, it depends... I have had 'Rays from every single decade plus the Classic, so I have learnt a lot about them, but if you ask me about Fenders... errr... uhm.... I know virtually zilch.
10. I believe Shedua and ikay are correct. In the wrong pic, you can see the vertical line where the poly finish of the back of the headstock ends and the oil/wax finish of the back of the neck starts: that has been introduced in the '90s, well after the skunk stripe on the back of the neck has been discontinued, so that pic cannot belong to a pre EB.
11. Somebody was keen but then disappeared into the deep blue yonder, so... BUMP!
