1. OK, this is the deal. I have found something I really want and therefore, prepared to let this go for an incredibly ridiculous price. How does £900.00 sound to you. This retails for well over £1600.00 and this bass I have is the original with Simms side LEDs. Do me and yourselves a favour and grab a bargain now. Go on, you know you want to :)

  2.
I own an identical one of these in nirvana black. I sold it, regretted it straight away and when the chance came to buy it back I snapped it up. Nothing else had quite the punch or woodiness, even other Warwicks. A superb bass, even from top to bottom. Highly recommended.
It is a wonderful bass and for years it has been my mainstay. Like you, I have tried many other Warwick's and nothing compared to the sound of this. I have been through Corvettes, Thumb B.O. & NTs, Stage I and yet nothing beat this LX. I will be sad to see it go but for sentimental reasons and that is not enough reason, for me, to keep it. Thanks the post and recommendation to all who read this. Take care.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  3.
Thanks for your offer but I'm not a 6 or a five strings player
Fair enough :) Good luck with the sale, a beautiful bass.

  4. A beautiful bass and I miss the one I had. Would you be up for a swap for a 1997 Warwick Streamer LX6 with Simms side LEDs? Always worth a try :)

  5. Would anybody be interested in possible trades? I am looking for a great quality 7 string guitar (Ooops sorry!) and I would also be up for trading this with a Dingwall 6 string bass plus cash adjustment on my part or an Apple G5, Powermac etc. Thought I would put it out there :)

  6.
I really need to limit the amount of time I come on here and get tempted by all this porn!!!

Are you sure you want to sell that Matt?

    Brendan
Hi Brendan, I know what you mean sir :) With regards this bass, yes I do. I have been weighing it up for the past 8 months to be honest but I just don't use this bass and rather than it just being sat there, I would rather it went to a home where it would be played and enjoyed as much as I used to love playing it. It is too good a bass to be just sat there and I know I am not going to use it again. A pity, but reality. Anyway, want it? It's very lovely  Speak soon and take care.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  7. OK, as promised, I have added a load of pictures for you that show what a wonderful bass this is. I have tried to capture the LEDs and they seem to have come out all right. If you have any questions, please PM me and I will do all I can to help. Hopefully speak to someone soon and give this bass the home it deserves :) Take care.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  8. I am definitely selling my trusty Warwick Streamer LX6 with Simms side LEDs. I have owned this bass from new (1997) and it has travelled far and wide with me, in fact all around the world. It is in absolutely beautiful condition with just a few dings that can only been seen if you really look for them. Honestly, it is in amazing condition for a 13 year old bass. This bass just sits in a case since I bought my Yamaha basses which have become my main live and recording basses. This is therefore, unfortunately, surplus to requirements. The only thing that you might want to change is that it has my name on the 24 fret but I have spoken to Simms directly and they can replace it with anything at all at a not significant cost - around £100.00. The bass comes with the Warwick gig bag and trust rod adjuster. It was set up by my tech about 4 months ago as I was thinking of selling it then and decided against it at the last minute, so the bass is set-up beautifully. I think that is all for now except price, so how does this sound -

    £900.00

The bass has a Wenge neck and board, a flamed maple body (green tinted), it's a 34" scale length and has the Just-a-Nut 1 brass bridge with gold hardware. It is currently strung with LaBella Super Steps and plays like a dream with that beautiful, full Warwick tone. The string spacing is 16.5mm and hence why I don't use it anymore. I prefer the Yamaha 19mm string spacing.

I will get some proper photos done tomorrow but in the mean time, here are some pictures of it in my hands at a rehearsal and on a video shoot.

Thanks for your time and please feel free to contact me with any questions. If you want to try it, then not a problem, I live in Cardiff. If you decide you want it, then I would prefer you pick it up please but depending on location, I might travel to meet or deliver. Thanks again and take care.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  9. This is absolutely stunning. I have an LX6 from '97 with SIMMS side LEDs and was thinking of selling it and then I saw this and thought of buying yours  They sound so amazing. I would still be playing mine if the Yamaha's hadn't come along and stolen my bass players heart instead. Good luck with the sale sir, this bass will make someone very happy indeed :)

  10. Thank you everyone, you have really given me some food for thought. I think the next step is a little trip to London and go and try as many of these pedals as possible. You have all been brilliant. Wish me luck and take care.

    Cheers,

    Matt :)

  11.
Boss CEB3 - can get pretty subtle, easy to find s/h on here less than £50
my fave - MXR Black Label Chorus - all analogue, as thick as you want it, and around £79 new.
I love MXR stuff and will definitely go and check that one out. Thanks so much for the help :)

  12.
Boss CEB-3: £75, well-known and used, warm, rounded and gentle
EBS chorus - £120? Not tried personally (too dear) but highly rated
EHX: Small clone: classic nirvana chorus sound - £55
Digitech bass multi: £50 - £75 - digital, a bit metallic sounding but very deep powerful effects.
A few others - boutique, expensive, well loved
I really appreciate the information and hadn't looked at the EBS range, which I shall now do :) With regards Boss, are they any good? I know Boss is a tried an tested name, but for some reason I have heard not very good reports about them though of course, I am open to trying anything if the recommendation is high enough  Thank you for your help.

  13.
Danelectro 18V CoolCat - Pick one up for around £40

Analogman chorus - I sold one for around £130 so could be in your price range IF you can find one. Best thing out there but thats my opinion.

I'm afraid they are both second hand prices and only realy available secondhand. All the other chorus's I like are rather above the price range, but alot can be had second hand. For the price the Danelectro is best thing going on value and tone!

    All IMO :)
I have heard of the Danelctro pedal but not the Analogman one. I will go and check that out ASAP. Thank you so much

  14.
My Trace Elliot Quad Chorus needs replacing, as it sounds like a police siren when it's off.
I'm currently thinking about getting a Digitech Bass Multi Chorus, they're pretty cheap but sound really nice.
I tried the Digitech pedal and really loved it but it was that then started my quest for the chorus pedal. Thanks for the help and by the way, is that a Steve Harris bass in your picture? I have to have one :)

  15.
what sound you after? Features? etc etc
I'm looking to thicken the sound a little and give it that sort of Kings X feel but not as much. I am already using a Sansamp Bass Driver Deluxe, which is the best thing I have ever used, but I want some thing a little extra. As far as features, something that is simple to use as I don't really intend to mess about with the sound once I have what I'm after. If any of that makes any sense at all, I'll be amazed but it's hard to describe until I hear it too :) Thank you.

  16. I don't know if anyone can help but I am looking to get a chorus pedal and am just flabbergasted by the amount that are available. Can anyone suggest the best pedals to look at? My budget is between £60.00 and £120.00. Any advice on what is the best and why and what makes them better or worse than any other pedal, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)
