This is 'There It Is' by Shalamar. Sublime part and sound. I can't remember the player's name, but I'm sure he was the writer/producer. I think he played and wrote 'And The Beat Goes On'. Again, the bassline is the song.

Ah, Jedsons...I remember them well. I started my bass playing on a similar bass, but it was a Vox. My brother bought it for me for a tenner.

Just to digress a touch, did anyone read the interview with Nate Watts where Stevie closed the limo door on Nate's fingers just before a big show? Nate had to play the gig with his remaining fingers and nailed it, too. Priceless story...you couldn't make it up!

Shops that don't do internet sales are struggling. These days it's a case of 'if you can't beat em, join em.' If you buy a brand new guaranteed product from a reputable store, you are safe within your consumer rights if anything goes wrong. Buying on ebay is different. For example, a guy I know came into the shop with a Les Paul copy he'd bought privately. He wanted my opinion, as he'd paid £500 (!) for what was essentially a piece of sh@t. By all means barter with a shop, but you'd be crazy to go online for the sake of a few quid, which I've had people do many times.

My advice would be to buy everything online, and with all the money you save, buy your own music shop and see how tough it is. Seriously though, buying online from a reputable store is fine, as long as they offer after-sales service. Buying privately could be a problem.

Sold a beautiful 97 Stingray 5, bought a Bongo 5 after trying one in the shop. Biggest mistake ever. It just didn't cut through live. Don't expect it to sound like a Stingray.

I got asked for a Ricky yesterday. The UK distributor Rosetti quoted 2 years waiting for a new one! Why?!! That's ridiculous.
