1. Another absolutely shameless bump.
2. A tone to die for.
3. But on the subject of BGM, the new issue (Zender on the cover) is already in Smiths, and yet again my subscription copy hasn't arrived.
4.
That, is a classic quote. But seriously, stop buying both, they're sh*t reads. I have BGM near the crapper and I read the back of toilet products before them.
Sorry mate, but that's a vile slur against BGM.
5. Try Picato. A google search will reveal the number. Speak to Gaynor.
6.
Serial number ?? Looks like it does miss the original rear cover plate
Serial number 2116. Everything original. The back cover plate is the same wood as the neck stringer. Should also mention I had the neck shaved down a bit to accommodate my small hands better. Feels awesome to play.
7. Thought I'd just bump this up again in case anyone missed the pics.
8. Definitely sounds like Paul Jackson. And get a load of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFcpBB4Yy_M
9.
Low Rider by War, also helps if you have the deep voice to sing along (i haven't!)
Good one.
10. Sunshine Of Your Love Hey Joe Jean Genie
11. Return Of The Mack. Used to play it in a previous band. Two notes, amazing groove. Also, the main verse to I Found Lovin by Fatback. It's all in the groove.
12. I think I would, agree with the other posters. Out of warranty, I'm afraid.
13. Here we go. I've shown the dings and dongs and blemishes. It's a beaut!
14.
Just been checking out the Pre-Gibson Tobias thread on TalkBass. Wow.. Can't wait to see pictures of this!!! Wish I had a grand
It's not a pre-Gibson, I'm afraid.
15. Firstly, I think you should name and shame the other shop...they deserve it. A typical example of one store trying to destroy another's reputation. You certainly can't polish a turd, but with some skilful work (ie yours), you can buff it up quite a bit.
16. Another BGM mag complainer?
17. IMO here's the daddy of the funk and groove....David Bendeth, 'Feel The Real'. This is a masterclass in one track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GzyvniixIo Anyone know who played on this?
18. Amazing track!
19. Ah, the Golden Age.
20.
I'm ill. this sucks. and i'm being put though the torture of aled jones' voice.
His dad, Tom, isn't a bad singer.
21. It would be really helpful if people looking for gear state their maximum spend.
22. I have to admit I've responded to a few 'items wanted' only to find it a waste of time. Someone was looking for a Variax bass recently. I have a mate who was up for selling one. The buyer didn't state how much he wanted to pay. I messed my mate about. Others have said they haven't got the money together, are just thinking about it, etc. So why post something in the first place?
23.
Make one yourself?
I'm crap at DIY.
24. I hate John Lydon and the Sex Pistols. PiL were musically good, but he grates on me.
