Thanks for sharing this. I really appreciate Max Richter's work.
For those that haven't listened to Recomposed, his version of the four seasons, it's fantastic.

Jimmy Egypt is Glasgow is good. He is in the West end, so you don't have to go into the city centre.
He de-fretted a bass for me years ago and did a fantastic job.

I think Rick's guitar was just tuned down a half step, but he wanted to use an S type with a humbucker in the bridge. Blink play in standard.
I love Blink and Mark Hoppus they were my first obsession band when I picked up the bass, and Mark was probably the reason I chose bass.
I agree with what a lot of people have said on this thread, he doesn't get the credit he deserves. Even to be able to play at the lightning speed they played live. On top of that the lines are usually more interesting than they first appear.
I'm glad he got the all clear from the big C.

He is awesome, great with Snarky, but his own music is also incredible. His bass player Wes Stephenson ain't half bad either. Wes's other band the funky knuckles are also worth checking out.
Also his playing on Bob Reynolds album the guitar band is out of this world.

That is lovely!

Jaco Pastorius - Jaco Pastorius,
Victor Wooten - A Show of hands,
Janek Gwizdala - Live at the 55 bar,
Snarky Puppy - Ground Up
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik,
Ben Folds Five - Whatever and ever amen,
Pearl Jam - Ten.
A recent album that has some really nice bass playing on it is:
Hayley Williams - Petals for armour. Joey Howard is a monster, he has a great pocket.

Plantation Lullabies - M'eshel
Ben Folds 5 - 1st album.
I always think that Robert Sledge doesn't get the credit he deserves. I love his playing, Ben Folds Five are probably one of my favourite bands.

Wow, would you post this in the UK?

I swapped my big rig out for a QSC K12.2 when I got my stomp, works as expected, although it does show up any limitations in your signal chain more than a traditional cab would.
This is very true, getting your amp models & IR's right is important.

It's a Peavey UL-12. I'm pretty sure it has the Black Widow driver. I am going in through the effects return on the Genz, so its pretty flat.
It has really helped me dial in my Helix tone, much better than my KRK Rokits as it has a recent size speaker.

Wow! A G&L without the horrid headstock. I think I'm in love...shame I'm not in a position to buy. GLWTS

I would also check out Nordstrand PJ blades.
They are fantastic, I have a set and they have such a great range, you can really change the tone with the volume knob, when used passively.

I love hipshot products. I have never had any need to deal with their customer service, but it's nice to know it's there if I ever need it.

Lots of open string use for positions. The fill @ 0.59 can be played in one position, but he doesn't because it's harder to intonate and it doesn't flow the same. So it's, A @ 12th fret A string, its octave @ 14th fret G string, then open D to shift to 11th fret D string with ring finger string, 11th fret G string with pinky, 9th fret G string with index.
You have to get the right hand positions, that's a tricky bit.
Pino or Partridge?,

I replaced my board with a stomp, and for the most part I am very happy. It can do everything my board did and more in a much smaller and lighter package.
What I would say is if you are in the position to buy the stomp first and try it first before offloading all your pedals.
I would say I got rid of my pedals too quickly, I still miss my Cali76CB, i should really buy another one, but the stomp has decent compressors in it, and I now can't really justify £250 on a single pedal. I guess that shows how good the stomp is.

This would be my starting point.

Just over two minutes into it. I started it months back then left it, I learn note for note, I always have. Gets a little tricky to dissect aurally when the synths thicken up toward the end of it.
Love Pino's playing on this. A close 2nd is how much I love Alan Partridge's air bass playing to it.

I just read the chart all the way through
On Transcribe at 50% speed 😜
I think I would need it on 10% to be able to keep up.

I have spent three evenings working through a transcription of Anthony Jackson's bass part to the version of 'Not Yet' off the Michel Camilo album 'Caribe'. I am still on page one. It's incredible.
Fantastic album, and some truely masterful playing from the whole band.

With all the chat the last couple of days about P basses with Jazz necks, I imagine this should sell pretty quick!
It's a beauty!

Wow that's a seriously low price for a bass of that quality!

Just on the power supply point - add one of these to a one spot (or any standard supply capable of 1A) and you are good to go:
Thank you for this. I just got one after seeing this and along with a single splitter for the Darkglass harmonic Booster my board is now powered by just 1 one spot. Much appreciated.

I haven't played that particular amp, but I have had the studio 110 for probably near 18 years and as a practice amp I love it.
It's a shame there's not more love of these amps, the RnB and Clean sounds are good, and the onboard optical compressor is also pretty good.
