  1. Starting a new thread for SimonH as I cant find an existing one! Probably because there isnt... Anyway!

Simon bought my MoMark 600w and my Ibanez ATK405. An easy guy to deal with, plenty of good communication and payed in full! :) If your buying/selling anything with Simon, have no fear! He's a sound guy and keeps to his word, so deal with 100% confidence sirs.

    Russ.

  2. Yeah man :) it's good to finally settle on something! Bonus that it's reasonably light weight too! To be honest, there's not much difference between the CL's and the HF's besides the style and the fact the HF's have an adjustable tweeter whereas the CL's are only adjustable in the sense you can turn the tweeter on an off...

If your ever down my way (Essex) come give the rig a try!

    Russ.

  3. Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share this with you...

Recently I've been trying out loads of different amps by buying/re-selling and trading on this forum. (many thanks to all I've bought/sold and traded with!)

    I've had an Trace Elliot V-Type with BFC Cab, an Eden WT800 with XLT410 and XLT210, a Mesa Boogie M-Pulse 600 with powerhouse 4x10, an Orange AD200 with OBC410 and OBC115, a MarkBass TA503 with 104HF cab and various combo's I can't even remember!

FINALLY I have 100% settled on my current set up, which is the MarkBass SD1200 with two MarkBass CL104 600w cabs, this rig is outstanding, it might not be renowned as the best or even as something to be considered elite, but for me and my style (super low action, tapping, solo work, progressive rock, 6, 9 and 10 string basses etc) it's perfect. It's unbelievably responsive, crisp, punchy ad the attack is spot on. Leave the EQ at 12 o'clock and you'll get 100% of your basses natural tone, which when using custom and high spec instruments is something important to consider.

It have 2 envelope filters to add warmth where needed and the EQ is good should you choose to use it. The head room is more than ample for anyone, 1200w at 4 ohm and 750w at 8 ohm. It's light (4kg or so) and has a real user friendly facing with a direct tuner out (handy) and 2 speakon outs.

Out of all the amps I've had, and all the different styles of sound they produce, this is by far and away my favorite. I can't recommend it enough, and the cabs too... For 4x10's they're light, under 30kg each.

If anyone wants to try this out, PM me and you're welcome over for a cuppa a chat and a bit of bassing. :)

I also use quite an array of effects (delay, reverb, synth, flanger, wah, limiter, distortion, looper, flanger etc) and they all sound yards better through this rig because you get their true, unedited effect.

To sum up, this rig kicks ass and having been though 6 big rigs in less than a year I feel I am finally 100% happy with this beast. Win. ;)

If you play anything like my style, then you need to at least try this set up, you'll be convinced I'm sure!

    Take is easy guys, Russ.

  4. Hey guys,

I have a beautiful 9 string PAC-man Conklin I bough off Jean Baudin a few months ago and I want someone to bring it back to it's 'as new' condition...

Nothing is really wrong with the bass, it's set up great and plays superbly, but the woods are tired and look aged, and the body has some strange waxy coating to it.

What I'd like is for someone to Strip back the waxy finish on the whole of the body and really make the ziricote top wood shine out, also I like the fretboard given a good once over to breathe some life back into the pac-man inlays.

Also, if it's do-able I'd like the custom knobs and tuners given the same treatment!

Can anyone do this/recommend someone who can? I'm based in Essex, so the closer the better!

    Thanks guys :)

    Russ.
