1. My Epifani says 115v - 230v at 50/60hz. When I moved to Canada I simply flicked the switch and it works fine. I think this is the case with most if not all digital amps on the market.
2.
Hey Ian, good to see you're back in the saddle (aha). Let me know if you plan on spending any time in Winnipeg, I have some good friends there who know the musical scene.
Hey, thanks mate. I'm sure we'll be venturing all over Canada in time. And it's only a matter of time before I buy a Stetson! It's good to be back. Cheers
3.
Glad to hear things are going well mate I’ve not made any progress with the Jazz body you sold me before you left though, mostly due to my laziness It's still a lovely bit of wood.
I was wondering how the bass was coming along! Don't forget some finished pics. Cheers
4. After a 4 month break, I'm back again, but now from Calgary - not Essex! I've been concentrating on settling into my new job, the area, etc. Amazingly all by bass gear was undamaged after being shipped. And luckily my Epifani head is dual-voltage! Just need a band now. May have to be country and western!! It's good to be back on the site and in particular seeing all the new build diaries. Still a great forum - keep it up! Cheer Ian
5. I reckon the amp goes down to less than 4-ohms. They say you can use three of THEIR 8-ohm cabs safely, but only theirs. Their is a FAQ on their site that explains how this is achievable with their 'custom' drivers, but I'm sure our Mr Claber may be able to determine of there is a bullshit odour in the air! The amp does look interesting. $1100 here in Calgary.
6. I wouldn't pay £100 for that after my experienced with a Titan V12 head
7.
People use them to scare their children. "Go to sleep NOW, children. Or the BASS is going to getcha!"
Anything more than 5-strings scares me!
8. Is this guy a genius on photoshop or do people actually play 15-string basses? http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-PROFESSIONAL-15-STR...A1%7C240%3A1318
9.
E-bay. Seriously if you aren't in a hurry, you'll get much better/more from your money, by buying used.
We have a complete PA system available in 4 gigs time. All going cheap. Two Mackie M1400i amps, subs, Peavey tops, crossover, FX, mixer, case, leads....
10. Sounds interesting. I don't recall seeing a Shuker fanned, so I think you're right, this will be his first. They are surprising easy to adapt to and actually feel comfortable, despite the looks. I'm not sure about angling pickups. I've got EMG DC and CS in my Sirius bass (in my avatar). Great pickups. Remember, we want lots of pics!! Cheers Ian
11. Very nice Paul. You don't see many maple fingerboard fretless basses. The last time I saw one was when Sting was playing one, and I think it was an Explorer style body. I used an Artec pickup on a budget build and I have to say they sound brilliant. They are peanuts to buy! Well worth a try. Keep up the good work. Ian
12.
Pm'D
Replied to.

15. Here is a very underated performing Alesis ProVenue 1201 PA cab that has only been used for monitoring. 200w, 12" driver with compression driver. £30, cheers, Ian
16. Here's my mini 1x15" 300w 4-ohm Ashdown copy cabinet. Its fitted with a Fane driver. Sounds fantastic. Built using Ashdown grill and vinyl covering. Twin speakons. Cover. £30. Cheers, Ian
17.
I was sure I'd seen a repair for your trussrod problem in the original Dan Erlewine video tapes from the 1984. I went through two 3 hour video tapes, but I found it again! To fix the rattle, the video shows him taking off one of the mid-board fingerboard dots (7th) and drilling into the neck from the area underneath the dot. Thinned down Titebond glue is then injected into the neck using a plastic syringe. The instrument is left for a few hours for the glue to harden. If this doesn't stop the rattle, then another dot is removed and the process repeated.
Hi, That's a very useful piece of info for solving an ill-fitting truss rod. I must remember that! However, I'm 99% sure that the weld has broken that fixes the bar to the threaded part or the rod. This would mean the rod part would flap around as it is narrower than the bar itself. I'll be removing the board and fixing the problem at some point in the future. I'm sure this will end up an awesome bass. Ian
18. Good to meet Gareth. Check out the one with Mark King on the cover - I'm in that one (with hair!).
19.
I'll have them please
Hi mate, they are now yours! You're local to me aren't you? I'll PM my address. Cheers Ian
20. I've got about 30 or 40 old bassist mags free to anyone who wants them. Mint condition. I'm in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex Cheers
21.
Chopthebass is a great person to deal with:)
You're so kind!!!
22. Three's an odd number, so one of my DB112 cabs is up for sale. Brilliant little cabs. As new condition, dark green finish with black grille. Rear ported. 300w at 8-ohm with tweeter and HF attenuator on rear. £250 Cheers Ian
23. You may have heard I'm off to Canada. As a result my band is splitting. It was coming to end anyway - this was the nail in the coffin!! Anyway, we've two Mackie M1400i amps for sale. They've been in a 4U case from new. Only the handles have some wear. Brilliant utterly reliable amps, 700w + 700w into 2-ohms, or 1400w bridged into 4ohms. Built in crossover, filters etc. Owned from new. The amps will be available after xmas. £225 each.
24. sorry its now sold. Still have the Agi DB112 for sale....
25. Has the pup been removed at some point? I have accidentally clipped the 3-pin lead on the wrong way round, which lead to it sounding no quite right! I guess the internal preamp could become faulty, although I've never heard of it before.
