1.
ya ill take a look at their my space page, they might turn up around waterford sometime, very good for live bands, good venues etc.Their was a great wexford band one time called cry before dawn, had some success but eventually broke up.
The good bands always split........ happy St. Patrick's Day!

  2. Glad to see some love for Thunderbirds. Loads of people bang on about neck dive, I don't find it a problem and find it such a playable bass with a monstrous tone and as you said - it's got the looks to boot.

  3.
Really. Cant say i heard of them though . Ya waterford is right long side wexford. The sunny south east. If only we had the sunny bit lol.
They're worth a ganders if you've got the time. Instrumental and effects laden guitar and bass noodelings of the highest calibre. I spoke to their bass player briefly after the show and he was a nice chap.

  4. I saw an Irish band called Adebisi Shank play in Brighton the other week. Blew my socks off, they are from Wexford which I think is fairly close to Waterford? Welcome!

  5.
One thing I have notices when touring alot is the necks are very unstable. Every month I have complete setup the bass because the neck moves, and therefore I have to intonate etc. this pisses me off as my warwick rarely moves, didnt even wobble when I went from cold Bristol to sunny havana!!!
I have this problem with the neck on my 'Ray as well. Stick it in it's case for a week or two out of the way and it's bound to move. Because of it's unreliability and other factors that I've already mentioned in this thread, it's the only bass I have that I'd be happy to part with.

  6.
Years ago I had one of the green carpet covered 500w 1x15 7 band EQ combo's.

Should never have got rid :)
I still have one of these but a 150W model. It still does a grand job at smaller venues, practice and as a more portable amp for lugging up to London.

  7.
But no instrument is boring to play if you enjoy the music. Are you enjoying the music you are performing? If not, you know what to do!
Agreed, you've got to have that spark there. I don't think I'm alone when I say I play my bass every day, not because I feel like I have to but because I want to. I'm sure most people here are the same.

  8. The guitarist in my band is selling his Vox AC30. I know it's not for bass but thought I'd put it up to help him out.

  9. I have a 2 band EQ StingRay and the complete opposite problem. I love the sound and find it really easy to get a tone I like but I find it really hard to play at times. I struggle to get my fingers to where I want them to be on occasion and after a while the neck becomes really tacky so I have to keep it polished (I've heard this is common with early 90's rays). It also weighs a ton. I think my main problem I have is with the neck (the width and the string spacing). Guess I'm just too used to a thinner neck.

    EDIT:

I think the bass player from Billy Talent uses a StingRay and the bassist from Hell Is For Heroes uses one I'm sure.

  10. I use an old Trace from 1990 I believe. The only other amps I've played through that I like are Mesa, Ampeg and Eden. Not saying the rest are pants, I just haven't played through them yet. Anyway, it would take a lot to part me with what I've got, I love the sound. Check on the BC marketplace or good old ebay if you're interested in going for the older Trace stuff, a bargain is out there to be had.

  11. For some time my SansAmp Bass driver, Fulltone Bass Driver, Woolly Mammoth and Phase 90 have been firmly rooted to my pedal board and nothing I've tried has yet to replace them or be added. This could all change though as I've bought a few new pedals recently. However I can't see the SansAmp or Phase 90 going anywhere.
