Godalming is about 20 mins away so that's perfect! Thanks Hamster

  2. Hi guys,

I've tried every metric and imperial hex key I have and none of them do anything. I've tried to unscrew it with pliers but like I said earlier the top just spins and the screw stays firmly in place. I'm really tempted to take a hacksaw to it but have so far resisted. I'm still hoping that a former owner had installed them and can shed some light on it.

    Thanks all,

    Alex.

  3. I agree with the flavour of the month comment, go into GAK in Brighton and listen to the staff talk crap about Marshall and Trace bass amps. I guess it's their opinion though. From my experience the Marshall valve and solid state amps are worlds apart.

The guitarist in my band uses a '82 JCM800 and it is without a doubt the nicest Marshall I have heard, if not the nicest amp I've heard. I like it so much that I'd whip up the JCM800 Bass head on the for sale section if I could afford it.

OT: for all things Chris Wolstenholme look here

  4. Hi Everyone.

I'm selling my Mexican made Fender Telecaster. I bought it a few years ago from my guitarists dad who had bought it new from GAK in Brighton. It's never been gigged and has had home use only. It's a standard Tele in three colour sunburst with the stock pick-ups. No mods or upgrades at all. The serial number dates it to '96 - '97 on the Fender website

There are a couple of dings on the headstock, a small scratch on the bottom edge next to the strap button and a small scratch on the top of the body. I've taken pictures of these very minor blemishes as best I can. There are no other dents, dings or scratches anywhere else on the guitar including the neck.

The neck is 1-Piece Maple and the body is Alder. Everything on the guitar is standard so the fender website will give you all the details. I've just bought a Gibson Les Paul Junior and really can't justify having two guitars. So this one has to go. If I were to keep it the only thing I would do it the guitar is have it set-up nicely because I'm a fussy bugger.

I bought a black scratch plate which I had on the guitar in the past but it's no longer in perfect condition. I also have a Fender strap and the standard Fender branded hardshell case for the guitar. This is in really good condition and it's really solid. All these are included in the sale.

I live in the Horsham area of West Sussex and anyone is more than welcome to come and have a play. I'm more than happy to ship this guitar in the hard case and in the box I received the Gibson in. I'm looking for SOLD. If you live outside the UK and Ireland drop me a PM and I'll see if I can get a quote on shipping.

I have uploaded 22 photos of the guitar to Flickr here so you can see more images there.

    Sunny day photos

Any questions then feel free to drop me a PM or leave a message.

    Thanks, Alex.

  5. I've always played Trace Elliot amps. I have a TE Series 6 AH300 made in '91 going through a TE 4X10" cab brought at the same time. I've played through lots of amp and there's isn't much that compares that I’ve tried. One of those V series heads would be nice though. I can’t recommend it enough, what you get for your money in the second hand market is amazing. I’ve seen some major TE rigs sell for under £600 on BC.

I've never liked Ashdown amps myself. Although I think I've only used the cheaper models.

If you're seriously considering a change in set up and moving to Trace Elliot then you need look no further then the for sale thread here. I've been having a poke through today and there are some great bargains to be had.

  6.
It has a small amount of worming on the back, otherwise in excellent condition. Push/pull pots for coil taps on both pick ups, in series/parallel, in/out of phase giving 21 options. Jimmy Page shaped neck (thinner in the middle than at the ends).
Swap for a Bass or a cheaper Bass and 300w+ portable (as in small and light as i'm getting old) bass combo of similar value (about £2000).
The finish on that is stunning. Gibson sure know how to paint a guitar. Good luck finding a deal.

  7.
Good stuff, I always run my delay into phaser, so each individual repeat hits teh phaser on a different part of its cycle.
The guitarist in my band uses it as well to great effect. Chect out the song An Open Space on my bands myspace (link in my sig) for some delayed phaser goodness. He uses EHX pedals but it's all one and the same.
