That’s quite possible. The preamp tube may have been duff, although I think you can run them without

it in the signal chain so who knows?!! Also the earlier ones were ( IIRC) a Mosfet design which I believe

was later altered so perhaps this affected things too. I had one of the matching cabs with the aluminium

cones which I didn’t get on with at all. 😆

It was bought brand new in 2004 as I recall, so no idea which version it was, I used it with aluminium speakered cabs too (tho not Hartke make).. the cabs were fine as I continued using them with the next amp that replaced it, (the old peavey) and they sounded perfectly well with that, so not the speaker's fault in this case 😁

Great that we’re all different on here - I really liked the couple of Hartke HA3500 amps I had.

(There’s also a recent thread in the ‘Amplifiers’ section with quite a few glowing comments.)

For me they are solid, reliable and loud with a good EQ and one of the few compressors I’ve ever

got on with! Only moved mine on for smaller amps, but would happily use them again. Had

hoped the newer TX models would be as good but many comments about them being

    underpowered.

Absolutely, a number of people on here have had good results with the Hartke, which I must say surprised me after the one I had.!  Perhaps I was unlucky and got a bit of a dud one

  3. Actually, back to the original question..

Yes, a Hartke HA3500 amp, it was utter piece of shlt and couldn't get a decent sound out of it.

I had a load of gigs coming up and ongoing so thought I could do with a "decent" amp & just grabbed one of the above, brand new, from GAK as I recall, purely as an easy option, so I thought.

Did a whole bunch of gigs and put up with it for a bit, but in the end gladly got shot of it and replaced with an old Peavey which was brilliant, shudda just got something like that in the first place.

May I borrow your DM's and The Gat?

Absolutely, though I was going to suggest a 1796 patt light cavalry sabre, a bloke I knew got his ear sliced in half with one of those.. It wasn't me that did it, honest.. though I did stab a French bloke in the hand with one once (whilst fighting on horseback y'know) 🔪

  5. Gear I regretted buying?.. Well there was this orrible "go faster powder" we bought off someone at some fetish type club somewhere in East London (a popular post-Slimelight destination) , the stuff was rubbish and even looked dodgy, we just laughed and threw it down the toilet.. 😂

    That's a tenner I'll never get back...

I've already said this on the DoI thread, but felt it better to drop here as well. Basically, I hate this cookie stuff. I don't want it, never asked for it and, like others here, would like a 'reject and never come back' button.

Exactly this.. I've been looking at various sites online, with assorted topics from here, to bus / railway modelling, to welding, etc etc.. More and more now seem to have a simple reject all button, it's obviously an easy standard template based setting.

The only reason for the "powers that be" not doing it, must be they actually don't want to.. Why?.. £££?

Got to admit, when I saw the topic I thought this thread was going to be Spinal Tap related ...

I just thought It'd be about the olde Dolby noise reduction system tbh..

If you use a blocker to remove the tab all you are doing removing the ability to user edit the settings. It doesn't prevent Ezoic or even Basschat from changing the default settings behind your back. The current use of the tab is poor coding. If it must be there it should be a link at the bottom of the page next to the (now out of date) Cookies one.

I currently have Basschat sandboxed in its own browser which is only used to view Basschat and nothing else. It is also set to delete all cookies on exit, which has the added advantage that I'll get the privacy menu pop up when I log in and check if any settings have changed. I've removed the Basschat bookmark from usual browser so I don't inadvertently click on it while doing my other browsing. This also means that the Basschat bookmark has been removed from both my phone and tablet, so I won't be viewing it on either of these devices.

I notice that neither @Kiwi or @dewww have seen fit to comment since this all kicked off.

So how do you do this? ie how would I do this on a cheapo tablet android thingy?

Old geezer idiots version needed for me btw 😁
