1.
Based on your number of posts, so just keep posting. (NB, Off Topic posts don't count). Get involved enough in the forum and, who knows, you could end up as a moderator
Haha - Thanks!
2. Quick question... how do you get to be a more 'full' member? Cheers! P.S. Great forum!
3. Just to say irrelevant of the bass, Tim is a legend to deal with! Im the VERY happy owner of his old sadowsky and it was a pleasure doing the dirty deed (as it were). I went round his, got to play it for a good while (saw the Zon among his collection), had a good natter about basses (and cycling...), got a cup of tea... the service was excellent, as is the bass, as is Tim! A fully satisfied customer. H P.S. Let us all know how you end up popping the question! (...and the response!)
4.
You need a Sadowsky, not just another bass .
+1 I just got a Metro this weekend - its hard to find enough phenomenal adjectives to describe it! Seriously though, i dont know if its just naieve but mine is literally the best bass (sound, feel, build) wise Ive ever touched; blows my Fender Mexico deluxe outta the water. I really cant work out why the guy sold it to me... oh wait... Its cus he had another Sadowsky! I reckon i should be paid to represent and sell them - I'd do it for free!
5. Lovely fella, went to his house, got a good play on the bass through his amp and even a cup of tea! Pleasure doing business and am ECSTATIC with the new bass!
6. I want something that really kicks up my tone and the 'growl' of my bass. Something that really adds edge and dirt but not a full blown fuzz (thats another issue; whats the wooly mammoth like...?) or necceserily distortion. Just something that growls when i kick it in and has that more filthy edge. Space on a pedal board isnt a worry for the moment as this will be my first pedal (hopefully of a simple yet effective pedal board that gives me the sounds i want; overdrive/fuzz, compressor (perhaps), octaver and some kinda wah/phasor). Basically sound is more important than size, or pretty much anything else! Not too bothered about it doubling as a DI, whats the bonus? Although one of the PA men i work with said he'd prefer to get a fully clean signal alongside any wet signal i give him so he can mix them himself and not lose any front of house 'presence'! Cheers!
7. Any ideas for a good overdrive? Is the Sansamp one any good? Cheers!
8. Hi there! I just joined this today but have been frequenting teh forums for a while having a sneaky peek at stuff and peoples thoughts on stuff! Is a cool website; nice to chat low-end with other like minders! Errrrr... as a random intro Ive been playing for like 8 years; (started on a squier P-bass - a great starter bass!) and now have a musicman stingray5 natural, Fender V mexico deluxe jazz, Aria Tab 66 and some random fretless all running through an ashdown ABM 300W head and 1x15 compact speaker (looking to get some effects sometime soon!). Play loads of jazz and christian rock (killers style stuff) across london and at conferences across the country. Listen to pretty much anything - am quite open minded but really like stuff thats played well. Am big into jazz (LOVE playing funk/soul - i think being a gospel bass player is what i was born to do!) and also rocky stuff, pop stuff (just cus the choons with actual bass players are usually really solid with some sick but really musical playing) and pretty much anything else. Heroes are def Marcus Miller, Mark King (LOVE slap) but also people like Nathan East. Thanks, sorry to just yamer on about myself; be gentle! H
