Total Watts

  1. The mother of my two daughters was a massive Blondie fan and had a crush on Nigel. Then she met another bass player called Nigel.....
  2. Update. I'm in. The band were supposed to audition another bassist tomorrow, but he forgot about it......😁 His loss. I'm chuffed. First rehearsal tomorrow night.
  3. The audition went well. Blasted through seven of the ten songs. The usual botche and getting lost once or twice. But generally a positive vibe from the band. They're auditioning one more bass player next week, so a ten day wait for a decision.... Good bunch of guys as well.
  4. Cheers. I said that to the wife. She fnured.... 😁
  5. Probably wont do all ten, but they know i dont know everything note for note and they're cool with that.
  6. Cheers. Fingers crossed 🤞
  7. Cheers
  8. Got an audition for a new band tonight... About 70% certain on the ten songs I was given to learn. To be honest, I'm not nervous at all. At nearly 61, if it doesn't work out I'll not be peeved. Not a huge shift in style from my last band. More modern metal then old school death metal which the last lot did. Looking forward to be back playing more than anything 😁
  9. My old instruments. Downsized the amount of 5 strings.
  10. Does anyone have a Pete Back bass? Only ever saw one, a lefty Thunderbird with a flying V headstock. I owned a Pete Back Explorer for a while, sadly now gone. Not even sure if he's still in business, and cant find much info about him. Cheers
  11. I've seen a similar finish problem repaired. The lifting paint had glue put under it and a vacuum table was used to press the paint back into place.

    Lefty G&L L2000

Back in the early 2000s I owned a lefty G&L L2000. Trans red with a natural binding on the top front edge. Maple and rosewood neck. Gorgeous bass, but found it really heavy. No idea on serial number. Think I partexchanged at a shop not long after. I would love to see where it ended up. If anyone here has any clues, would love hear from you. Cheers Nige

  13. I remember seeing a lefty Carl Thompson in a second hand shop in 88/89 for £600......
  14. How about the Steinberger Spirit XT2? Nothing more eighties than a Steinberger, and pretty cheap.
