1. I saw a 4 string USA on Ebay for £600 in mint condition with hardshell case - it was a bargain. They are pretty damn good, I saw a chap using one at a fayre and it sounded incredible, however! The pickups are extremely difficult to change due to their shape and fit but I don't see why you'd want to. I'm talking about a Cirrus by the way haven't seen another model i'd like. I'm very keen to find a five or six string cirrus and would pay pretty well.

  2. Badass bridges look shockingly sh*te. Who wants BADASS engraved on their bass? I bet it sounds awesome as I like humbucker basses. The pickguard isn't the best, far too big -should take a more traditional tele shape. +1 for the Green. Matching headstock would be better also.

  3. Bump for a high quality lightweight cab in mint as new condition. Perfect with any head and ideal for someone who doesn't drive or has back problems. Very powerful for a small cab, perfect for pub gigs. Great price as it cost just over £500 new.

you look familiar - I expect paths have crossed somewhere. Perhaps at Triban? I play in Tattsyrup, used to be in Michael's Bones & Hair o' the Dogma

    Cheers

    Hi Dan,

I doubt it, I've only just arrived in Cardiff last year studying at the university - nice city but I have yet to get stuck in to the music scene here. Live lounge seems the best place for it. I've sent off for details from Germany about the Hoyer so it should come to me any day now! :)

Wouldn't be a hard job to do, local Luthier's calling, its already setup. I prefer it fretless. The cost would probably take you up to half the price of a new USA still in as new condition.

  6. Martin just did a trade with my father today for my Ashdown Superfly, the old man said he was a true gent and a pleasure to deal with. He provided me with loads of photos of the traded bass and was quick with PMs etc even made the journey to the front door to collect it! Would love to do a deal again and wouldn't think twice about it! Hope you enjoy the superfly m8 :)

Haha I love the way he keeps his timing bobbing from side to side, I can't really talk - I open and shut my mouth like a goldfish... I wonder if that hat n flares would work for me??

    ...Mancunian Bumpette!
Oh! thank ye kindly :)

Yeah anything with 24 frets or lines is dandy - I'm loving the whole fretless with lines on ebony thing at the moment, if it had the extra line it'd be going nowhere.

All trades considered although I do have something in particular that i'm after directly after its sale! Green is definately the new black and this has both on it to make sure.

  9.
I really seriously would do that trade were it not for it's scale, it's a groovy looking thing! Makes me wanna pick it up and play Free tracks all day...
It sure has a woofly tone if thats your thing, I was enjoying using a pick on the rickenbacker setting but now I'm using the EB3/P bass setting for fingerstyle, has more punch and less growl and clank. I need to find some way of getting audio samples up and some better photos BC will let me upload and it'll be away.

I don't blame your temptation! Its not often a 60's bass turns up so cheap unless it has a warped neck/poor action or been modified, into Rickenfaker territory now. It's got some sturdy timbers and some very distinct vintage tones, just lovely now it has TI flats. Completely giggable, but has the antique look. The neck is fantastic. If you'd like some detailed photos your very welcome - just PM me your email address.

The scale isn't really much of a problem. I'm 6ft and I wear the bass a little higher than usual and tighten my strap, it sits pretty much on my belly so I have full access to the 21st fret I use so much!! You'd have to have pretty massive hands, like paddles not to find your way around, it feels nowhere near as small as a guitar. The neck is amazingly fast, especially helpful for solos where sliding/bendings involved. Been checking out some of the Free Videos recently on youtube, I've clearly been missing out, only listened to Bad Company!!
