OK so this is a solo :D but it is a ridiculously melodic one. Makes me smile every time I hear it.

    WARNING, fusion content.

Yeah! Gary Willis known what he does.

  2. It would be easier and more effective to make a good and active facebook place. Easier to update it and to advertise it for free. Millions of people use facebook. No need to pay such a money every year to create something that can't be advertised for free. I vote for facebook.

  3. TH500 is great for me. The preamp controls is perfect for me. The only thing i don't like is that the drive option is very much connected to the gain position. The problem is that if i want to play with drive i must add gain also to get the sound i want with drive and the whole sound gets very much over that standart without drive. I don't feel comfortable to use the drive option in gigs. But after all the TH500 is the greatest D amp i ever tested and owned.

I think Dylan is more than a good songwriter.

I like him as a singer and his musical arrangements are good too.

There have been plenty of great covers, that much I do  agree with.

Covers can always be better than originals, that's the plan their made for. If the cover is bad, don't listen to it more than once.

Unpopular music opinions? Where do I start.  Firstly, Bob Dylan's original all along the watchtower is so much better than Hendrix'.

second, bass solos and bass noodling are a waste of time. Jim Rodford's line on Hold your head up is as near to perfection as any bassline could come.

and finally, amy whinehouse was just shite.

Bass solo is noodling if it's just a 5 minute slap or 1 chord trilling, listen to to Gary Willis or Jaco bass solos and stay clear.

My band is a big ol' bunch -- 12 or 13 of us at any given time. As you can imagine it is a logistical nightmare getting everybody anywhere at any given time, just getting everybody's availability for gigs is bad enough. We've been using Doodle for ages to do this; if there's a gig offer then we start a poll and everyone answers yes/no/if needed as applicable. It's worked for ages but unfortunately the Doodle people have broken the cardinal rule "if the damn thing works, don't bugger about with it" and they've buggered about with it till it's virtually unusable. So I'm looking for alternatives. One I'm trialling is 'WhenAvailable', so far it seems pretty good. It's free to use as long as there are less than 20 of us, and with our usual deps we sneak in under this. What do you folks use, if anything?

12-13 at once if half is working, it's imposible. You have to think in future when much more can arive. The others must work at home and change the others next time. That's the only way. No online sofware can help.

On the 80s & early 90s one of my fave bands were RHCP.

Then Californication came out & so started the "More of the same".  John rejoined them recently, so I was holing for more pre Californication stuff, but the new album is a big bit pish.

I love Jazz, but it has to be good.  None of this 12 musicians playing different songs.  R+R=Now's album is pretty good.

Never got the fascination with Oasis.  They're a bit average (& I even thought that when they first appeared).

I liked "Indie" music back in the 90s, but it should have been left there & don't know why it continues to be such a prominent genre today.

I'll listen to any genre of music from Holst to Moderat to Iron Maiden to Silk Sonic.

Despite being a Christian, I can't stand the constant samey guff from the likes of Bethel, Hillsong & what other soundalikes there are.  It leaves me cold.

I like Your opinion on RHCP. That's my favourite band to listen. There is only one band that can play like RHCP and it is RHCP.

Mid 50’s and from a predominantly Rock background.

I have a penchant for Grime, not all grime but some of those guys are street poets and if the flow is good and the music suits I’m all for it.

I don’t like Jaco Pastorius material (I do like experimental and jazz) I don’t think he deserves the credit he gets I think many people jump on the band wagon singing his praise because they are expected to.

I also would not perfectly call Jaco the worlds greatest bass guitarist, but the magic of his grooves and tones deserves him to be the one of.............There are no greatest bassist in the world anyway. Finally i would say that Jaco gave to me a lot of things to think and learn and i really like to listen to him. Anyway - he will always be a great bass legend and he absolutely deserves it.

  9. I will answer my true guess. Somehow i can't say that i like Marcus Miller - great musician, composer, a true legeng in bass world, but the great minus is - too many slap in his songs. When i listen to his songs, i think - what a great music, but that 99% slap in it makes me somehow dislike it. Maybe that is connected that i am not a big slap fun, as i play fretless only.

  10. My dad played a lot in late 70's, rock and roll, blues. I have only paper pictures, but don't know where exactly are they. His dream bass was Macartny violin bass, but he only got some brand copy. His best bass was Charvel with Jackson pickups, witch i used later to start learning the bass.

  11. I don't know about these guys. But a situation where plays 2 basses could be only if one plays only low groove and the other improvises high and then they switch, drums also could be and piano or rythm guitar. Let's say Jaco and Gary Willis. A song for 10 minutes.

  12. I am back. Last night i chaged my choice to Ibanez gwb1005. I played bouth gwb1005 and jazz bass for 3 hours in to my headphones, studio monitors and through my amp and decided that my Ibanez is better in tone, lighter, more frets and strings and a lot confortable to play, a lower string action. Everything was better for me and yes i will choose gwb1005. You were right - i had do it myself - decide. Thanks again for the advices.

You sound like the band is there for you to showcase what you want.

Time to realise your a band and that includes other people you need to work together not do your own thing.

maybe lead guitar would suit you better 😄

Actually, a lot of songs i play a very lead on bass and they realy like what i play, they just prey me what to choose. I think the jazz bass is more universal and i will use it, but that doesn't mean that my gwb1005 is down and i will never touch it. No way, i really like it and there will be a lot chances for it in my future. Thanks for Your advices.
