  1. When i was younger and had more gigs, i bought Fender MIM jazz and felt it much better to play than with precission. Finally i went up to Fender Jaco model and played it a lot. After i bought Ibanez GWB1005, i only use my Jaco for rock.

I've not heard good things about RHCP live and that's from big fans of them.

Personally, I hate big gigs. I wouldn't see anyone in an arena or stadium. Even at Glastonbury, I hate going to the Pyramid stage. You're just so far from the band. I'd rather see a smaller band in a small venue so it at least feels like you're in the same room as the band.

    Maybe You are right!

  3. Last mounth i put at local announcement site that i want to buy a used 3/4 or 4/4 upright, any brand, made anywhere, for about 350e. I mentioned that the visual status can be heavily road worn, but it should be playable condition. I wanted to buy it just to decorate my room, as i have no expierence with upright at all. No response. I didn't try again, but continued to find if someone wanted to sell some upright - no one. That's it.

  4. I bought it new in 2007. Actually it is luthier made bass - Sugi guitars in Japan, but it is Ibanez Gary Willis signature model with an original Gary's signature on the backside on electronics cover. The body is made from 2 piece swamp ash. Neck - 3 piece maple, fingerboard - ebonol. A few years later ebonol was changed to ebony. Very light 5 string fretless bass. Feels so comfortable to me. Sounds ideal. Pickup - custom made by Bartolini bridge soapbar (you can't order or buy at Bartolini). Electronics - push/pull - active/passive volume control and bass/treble control. 9 volt battery. 2 octave lined fingerboard. Tuners - Gotoh. When i bought it, i undertood that this bass gives me all the sound i was looking for before. Very universal sound, exept hard rock and metal. Also from pickup to bridge is installed detachable ramp with gives You easier playing when changing Your hand position. Very low string height. Perfect 5 string fretless. Worth the money.

Rather than boiling, my solution now to keeping strings in top playing condition is to keep the bass in the corner of the room just as a piece of furniture. They now never get gunked up.

What's the difference for strings, keeping instrument on a stand or in the corner of the room?

  6. Instrumentals are not popular today because they are very specipic - fusion, acid jazz. Most of listeners just don't understand the beauty. That's why they are no on fm or tv mostly. I like to listen those instrumentals though.

  7. So, most of You prefer buying new strings than boiling old. I think it differs how long You play Your new strings. Someone consider old strings after 2 mounth, someone plays half year. I think the more giggers and recorders prefer buying new ones, more home and rehearsals have nothing wrong with boiling.

Yep, I always do with roundwounds, just long enough until you seen the bits of dirt seep out, probably 10 mins or so

Intresting - do You put them in allready boiling water ar start from cold and boil together ?

  9. My earworm is song "go johny, go". I don't like this song, but when i hear it somewhere, i absolytely concentrate to listen to it and sing inside myself. Then i put it in my phone as an alarm sound and it works very good. When i have to wake up at 7am to get ready for a job, i never missed it. This is my story.

Jazz-funk and Bass players obsession with this genre.

It's usually Bass playing for Bass playing sake - I'm more interested in music and the song as a whole, and the message it has, than someone's ability to 16th note their fingers to a pink paste.

Vulpeck and Snarky Puppy can also get in the bin. Smug, gurning jazz funk, that's been already been done 40-50 years ago. I can't watch these bands.

    Ahhhh - that's better!

Why do You think it can not be done for 200 years? I like it much more better than those awfull cover/lounge songs played in big shops. 40 songs in 12 hours - all the same, feels like one guy with a synthesizer and pc has made them all. I am listening to them each working day and i really hate them.
