1.
I will take a look into it and get back to you!
2. I'm having a rethink of my recording set up so starting to clear out some items which no longer get much use. I have owned this mic for a couple of years and only ever used it at home for recording guitars, the odd bit of percussion and once as a drum overhead - it's never failed to get a great sound for me. The mic is in great condition with a couple of small cosmetic scratches and the sticker with serial number is worn/peeling off. Non of this impacts on how it sounds or works. Detailed information can be found here -> http://www.sontronics.com/stc10.htm £40 posted. Apologies for the poor quality photo! Adam
3. I bought this cab new 5 years ago and used it as my main gig rig along with a HA3500 head then TecAmp Puma. It was always ued with P.A support so it has never been pushed hard. The cab is rated as 400w @ 8ohms. Its by no means a boutique bit of kit but it has never let me down and has always sounded good to my ears. Overall it is in good condition and works perfectly. There is a small issue with a crack in one of the handles. Sounds bad but I have only just noticed this whilst checking the cab over before posting for sale. I have tried to show this in the pictures 'before' and 'after' me pulling at it. I didn't find it an issue when carrying the cab. Other than that ther are a couple of small scraps and the carpet is starting to wear a bit on the back, again picture. Sadly this is taking up too much room in my miniature flat and I just don't get to use it as much as I used to so it has to go. Looking for cash only. Due to size and weight and me not having any packaging this will have to be collection only from Southampton or near by. I often find myself in Portsmouth and will be driving to Lewisham on 7th of Feb if that helps. Adam
4. Thanks for the feedback guys. I should probably edit the first post as its unclear but they were not 4 track recordings im afraid! I had meant to say it was a 4 track ep but I was tired and had spent far too long staring at a computer screen! We are looking into a real drummer for a live set up but I just don’t have the means to record them at present unfortunately so the electronic stuff just makes it a bit more manageable until I can justify a full set of mics and pre's! With regards to teh kit this was all done in my front room with a zoom r16, Focusrite ISA 1 and AT4033a. The bass was an Aria Pro ii which I pulled the frets out of! We have been lucky and had a few plays on BBC radio this last week which is nice but doesn’t mean a whole lot just yet. It was good to hear that the songs still sounded good despite the BBC doing their best to crush the life out of them! Si - we have a couple of new songs coming together already so will be in touch hopefully at some point in the new year if you're happy to do some more work for us
5. I recently recorded a 4 track with a friend of mine. We are putting it out under the name 'Plastic Dinosaurs'. Si was kind enough to master the songs for us and, considering this is the first proper project I have completed, I'm really happy with them. Si did a fantastic job and really helped out in some areas as well! You can find the songs here -> http://plasticdinosaurs1.bandcamp.com/ I also made a fool of myself in a video we made for one of the songs -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKLinjV11mY (I don't know how to embed it im afraid!) Any feedback or comments welcome - especially on the mixes as this is the recording forums. Adam
6.
I noticed on my September track that soundcloud seemed to compress and smiley EQ my entry , would this happen twice if I loaded it for Si and then when he loaded it again ? This might affect the way I present it in the first instance IYSWIM
Soundcloud has a download function so as long as you have your tracks set to download then Si (and others when all the mix files are released) can download the original WAV files. Any compression applied by the online soundcloud player wont be heard on downloaded files, as I understand it. I haven’t been involved with these yet and really wanted to do this month but I have been busy with other stuff unfortunately
7. Hi, Up for grabs is my Focusrite VRM box. if you're looking at this you probably know what these are but here is a link to a SoS review and description of what it does....http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr11/articles/focusrite-vrmbox.htm Now that I have a 'proper' set of monitors set up and working in a treated room I am only using the VRM box for checking of mixes and, as I have my eye on other goodies, this is a luxury I can do without for now. It has never left my studio (front room) and is like new. I have all boxes, driver discs etc which will be sent with it. I'm looking for £50 collected and I'm happy to post if buyer covers the cost which I guess would be about £5. Photo's to follow but essentially it looks exactly like the stock photo's! Cheers, Adam
8. Just sold pair of 'little blondie' mics to Ash. The whole deal was very quick and easy. Ash is a top bloke and kindly passed on a bit of advice regarding studio monitors and room set up so I got a little something out of the deal on top of the $$ which was a result. I would not hesitate dealing with Ash again.
9. I have two wooden Little blondie mics up for sale. They are great on most sources I have tried them on. More info here: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/gear-shoot-outs-sound-file-comparisons-audio-tests/395131-anyone-else-using-sahiamans-little-blondie-mic.html I bought these direct from the guy who was making them by hand about 2 years ago. They are like new with no issues whatsoever. Only reason im selling is because im after a new pair of monitors and I dont use them as much as I used to. im looking fro £150 collected from Southampton but would consider delivery. Would consider trades plus cash your way for the right studio monitors.
10. I was struggling to hear my mix amongst these......turns out I sent Si the standard and not secret link to my track this month so he could not access it. Public apologies to Si for any inconvenience and thanks again for putting this all together! If anyone has any tolerance for country left after this im going to post my mix in the hope of a bit of feedback. I was rushed but its my first attempt with 'well recorded' tracks so I would be interested to hear what others think if anyone gets round to it. Of the tracks submitted 3 stood out for me and i really struggled to pick one over the rest - each had elements i liked. In the end i'm not really sure why i made my vote from a technical point of view, it was more to do with the feel of the mix as a whole.
11.
The K14-meter effectively recalibrates 0db to -14db (this is over simplified explanation) so although @ 0db on K14-meter it is -14db on a 'normal' metering and yes, green meters
Thanks Twig. I actually have K-meter on the rendered WAV and its showing as lower than on the mix project so im not sure whats up but going to put it in anway if there is still time? Not had long to spend on this so it wont be 'interesting' as Si seems to be hinting that some are!
12. Hi, Is there any reason why the k-meter would be showing at near 0 on the 'mix' session but only -16 on the rendered wav? both sessions sound approximately the same volume. Also, just to double check it is the green meters were intrested in for this, not the floating white/red bars?
13. I dont post very often but I think this is a great idea so going to be giving it ago! I also have a song or two which I would be more than happy to supply stems for to see what others do with them. I will put the full tracks up here shortly if people are interested.
14. Can this only be used as a MIDI trigger or is it capable of storing samples and used as a standalone? Cheers,
15. Price drop bump...£180 delivered. Not looking for trades at the moment as im after a decent set of studio monitors.
16. It's the lake placid blue colour. Quite a pretty thing! I will be able to get some pics up when home from work this evening. Cheers
17. I bought this a little over a year ago from Tom1946 but unfortunately I have never gotten around to using it much at all as my overwater coveres everything I need from bass! That is not to knock the squire though. It plays really well for a bass in this price range and sounds massive when pluged in! Its perfect for a back up or knock around/starter bass. Condition wise it is pretty much as new apart from one small nick in the paintwork next to the jack input. Due to its location you cant see this at all! I was hoping to get around £190 for the bass and will include the fleabass case it came with which is actually really quite nice. Open to reasonable offers however. I would prefer collection from Southampton but can post if requried and will take a look at prices etc tonight. I will also upload some pictures tonight when i'm home. *edited for Pics! Adam
18. Up for sale is my trusty Hartke 4x10. I bought this in 2006 (I think!) and have owned it since new. The cab has been giged a fair ammount and as such shows some signs of wear and tear - a small section of the carpet is starting to wear and it has a few small knocks/scuffs but they are all cosmetic. Otherwise the cab is in full working order and I have never had any issues with it whatsoever. The reason im looking to move this on is because im finaly flying the nest and my new flat does not have room for this so im looking to downsize. Im not really willing to post this so i'm looking for £90 collected from Southampton but I could also interested in trades for smaller cabs so let me know what you have. Im unable to get pictures up untill the weekend but will make sure when I do that they show all the wear and tear etc. Adam
19. Just sold a couple of 10" speakers to Rich and as has already been said countless times Rich is easy to deal with and is a top bloke as well.
20. I have two Eminence Deltalite 2510 sitting in my spare room unused. They were for a pair of BFM can builds but after an impulse purchase and teh decreasing chance of me actaully needing more BFM cabs I think its time they went They have never been used (other than broken in) and a new pair will set you back £110 each from most UK dealers. How does £110 for both speakers sound? Id rather collection but happy to post at buyers cost. I guess it will be £10 ish but can get a more accurate quote if needed. Also open for trades for recording equipement so let me know what you have. Pics to follow tomorrow Cheers.
21. Evening, I have just stumbled across my old Hartke HA3500 which I listed for sale on here back in 2009. I will pull the pictures from that post when I get 5 mins over the weekend. As the topic title says there is an intermittent fault which I raised with Dave Hall when he had his own forum section on here. I will try to find the thread later and post it here. Essentially however it used to make the odd 'farty' noise when playing. Having simply replaced it with an Tecamp I never had it looked at or fixed. Part of the reason also being that I don't trust anyone in Southampton to fix anything electrical after some bad experiences! I have tested it today and it was working but obviously the fault is probably still there so it will be sold accordingly. Other than the fault it really is spotless and like new. Anyway, this has been sat doing nothing since I picked up the Tecamp head a couple of years ago so it needs to go. I was thinking of £50 picked up from Southampton or I can deliver/meet up somewhere near by as it will come with a custom fit flight case which makes it seriously heavy! Any questions let me know and I will do my best to answer. Regards, Adam
