1. Interested in a trade with a USA made jackson JJ bass, medium (32") scale, bolt on maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Duncan Basslines Music Man humbucker, 3 band EQ pre amp, aluminium Hipshot bridge and tuners. Colour black. in very good (almost like new) condition incl original hardshell case and warranty card, this was an exepnsive high end bass not of of the cheaper Japanese basses. Mine is like this only plain black, no flames paintjob: Jackson Guitars has introduced the JJ, a new 32" scale length bass equipped with the new Duncan Basslines SMB4A Musicman style pickup and the STCMM4 pre-amp. This combination of electronics and the 32" scale offers the comfort of a medium scale bass without sacrificing the crisp, big bottom notes of longer scale instruments. The JJ also features the American-made Hipshot bridge, Hipshot Ultralight tuners, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, blue heart abolone dot inlay, dual action truss rod, and Alder body. The JJ Bass is also made in the USA, and is available in a black finish or Interference Flames (shown to the right) which changes colors with the viewing angle.
2.
I play my gibson t bird every week and love it, its a one trick pony and does what it does, plays rock, yes the neck dives terribly and is a pain but I am used to it now. You cant get as much variation in sound as an active, I have a warwick $$ had a musicman, have a jaydee but I still grab for the t bird when its gig time. the neck is surprisingly fast and slim more like a J neck than a P, I love mine to bits.
I don;t nee versatility, I have to have a bass that rocks and growls. No subtility in my rig hahaha, I blast a tech 21 VT character Bass series pedal on about the most agressive setting through my EBS Fafner head. I play in a one guitar thrash/crossover/harcore band so I also shift a bit to filling in the rhythm guitar spot without losing the low end.
3. Thanks Sean, bass head arrived in good shape and working order sounds killer! won't hesitate to do business again.
4.
Oh that is nice. I've not a fan of that kind of shape but even I'm sitting here impressed. One thing though - who buys a Nikki Sixx guitar and worries about corny? Its Nikki Sixx, of course it's corny. Leave the pickguard alone and embrace the rock and roll.
hahaha, definately not a Motley Crue fan, I just love this bass
5.
Great catch Hope they deliver it to you sooner than 3 months.
Yeah man me too, I'll post some real porn when I have it in my hands!
6.
I played a brand new 'real' Gibson T-Bird the other week at Electro in Doncaster. Yes, okay, we all know they have the neck dive issue, but I can honestly tell you that it outplayed every other bass in the place. (And we're talking Warwicks, Sandbergs, etc, etc.) Awesome feel, sound, playability. If I'd have had a spare grand knocking about I'd have bought it there and then! Rich.
That's cool to hear as I never played a Gibson bass, I heard about the neck dive issue of course but I also read in some other forum that all Thunderbird have a repositioned strapbutton at the neck heel since 1988 which mostly fixes it. How do the TB plus humbuckers sound? I hope they match the growl of a music man stingray!
7. I am now the owner of a very nice 2007 blue dawn Stingray H with maple fretboard and an USA Jackson JJ bas but somehow I always felt attracted to the thunderbird shape. About a month ago I first saw the new (2008) Nikki Sixx sig and absolutely fell in love with it, actually I didn;t think it overly expensive. Well, of course a Gibson thunderbird is expensive but not as expensive as I'd tought it would be. So last week I pullen the trigger, I love the fact it has a maple/walnut neckthru construction, ebony fretboard and flame maple body wings oh I love the colour black/thrash cherry red a lot too. Only downside sofar is the corny mirror scratchplate but I need to find a plain black one to replace it. Oh and the fact I have to wait for 3 months to receive it, seems like they still have to be made, here's some generic pics I found on the net: anybody care to shaer some thunderbird experiences? sound? the balance issue.... I heard the newer USA models are balanced pretty well compared to the originals and hardly have any neck dive issues.
8. If only it was a "vintage" 80's USA model......

10. Hi guys, well some of you know I recently switched to playing bass, this makes it hard for me to justify having 9 very high end guitars in my possession. I sold all the rotten apples a long time ago and now I am left with only KILLER axes which makes it really hard to deceide which ones to sell. I have bonded least with my USA prototype Razorback V and my Jackson RR professional neckthru (1992) which I am now offering up for sale. Of course I prefer to sell to Europe but I am also open to shipping to the US if you are willing to pay the shipping. he dollar/euro course is still pretty bad for you US guys but it's all about how eager you are to aquire one of these killer axes. 1. My prized USA NAMM proto Razorback V, totally uncomparable with the cheaper Korean ones. Real MOP inlays, super smooth Ebony board, sharp V neck, rounded over neck binding, Real floyd Rose etc. Body is REAL honduran mahogany and not the cheapo Asian Nato mahogany. It's pretty heavy and sound S I C K. asking € 1950 or the equivalent in pounds + shipping 2. My 1981 vintage flame series ML, I have owned many vintage DEANs the past 7 years. This is the only one that has always stayed and for a reason. It plays and sounds S I C K. This is just like Dime's Dean from hell without the lightning bolt paintjob. The finish is dark braziliaburst, rosewood fretboard and honduran mahogany body. This is in pretty exceptional shape for an almost 30 years old guitar but it has some battle scars. Frets are slightly worn but still plenty of life left. Pickups are DiMarzio X2N and Super Distortion (not shure wether they are original but they are definitely from the same era). Comes with OHSC which is worn but functional. Pics to follow. Asking € 950 + shipping or the equivalent in pounds 3. A very nice neckthru, made in japan, early 90’s Jackson RR. This is from the era they actually rivalled their USA counterparts, just look on google. It has real MOP inlays, ebony fretboard and a maple neckthru construction. Killer white/ black bevel finish. In quite exceptional state for a 17-year old RR but has some wear on the tips like most RR’s, you really have to look though. The binding on the headstock is in tact unlike many other used RR’s, Jackson logo on the headstock is MOP inlaid. Pickups are X2N / L 500 XL which sound stunning, the X2N is brandnew. Original PU’s were Jackson brand and sucked. Comes with professional fitted flightcase. Asking € 875 + shipping or the equivalent in pounds AM I considdering trades? well actually I do, I would considder trades with a Rickenbacker 4003 bass or a Nikki Sixx signature Thunderbird bass (black cherry) in very nice condition. I would considder trading my 81 ML against a VERY NICE condition USA Dean ML bass. more pics on request, shipping within EU approx € 30-45 per guitar." class="ipsImage" />
11. I love it! can't you fix the nose dive with a strap button replacement? I wouldn't care about drilling a small hole into an cheap Epiphone.....would be a waste on a € 2.000+ Gibson though.
12. Cool, looking forward to receiving it!
