    Is this still available?

Yup. Let me know if you want any more details.

Great basses - I have 2, fretted and fretless.

Play like basses in a much higher price bracket - no replacement parts required  - this is a top bass for not many pennies.

If you're hankering for a quality 5er you could do much worse.

    GLWTS.

Thanks Mick. Yup, can’t go wrong with Yamaha. Don’t tell the Sadowsky but I’m a tart and want a trans black one!

I have one in the same colour. Typical Yamaha quality you can rely on. Punches well above its price. Somebody will be very pleased. GLWTS 👍

    I concur, cheers!

  2. Yamaha TRB1005J natural.

Excellent used condition. Some minor marks, most noticeably on the back of the body and some fret wear mainly on the lower frets but plays well with no buzz. Some minor tarnishing of hardware, mainly on the bridge and neck screws/collars on back of body.

The input jack is slightly loose, I believe this is a common failure on these barrel jacks over time. I've purchased a replacement Neutrik jack but haven't had a chance to fit yet - it will be included with the sale.

Took this in as a trade and I rather like it ... but then I picked up something Sadowsky and Japanese and I only have room for one active fiver.

I've weighed this as 9.6lbs which I believe is quite reasonable for these.

I have a Thomann gig bag which can be included or can ship with a very sturdy flight case on the condition it's made available for the BassChat community for anyone that should need it for shipping. Shipping to UK Only.

Collection or meet-up within a reasonable distance of Orpington BR6 also an option.

  3. Taylor GS Mini-e acoustic bass. 23.5" scale.

Excellent condition complete with gig bag and spare of strings.

Some very, very minor marks which are too small to photograph but overall excellent condition.

If you haven't played one, the string tension is very low which takes some getting used to. There's also only one set of strings you can use (well, recommended to use) to my knowledge which are specifically designed for this model.

I have too many basses and this isn't being used.

Don't think I have a box to fit the width of this so at the moment collection (Orpington) or meet-up within reasonable distance. Can also get it to my parents place in Bedfordshire.

I’d say the closest is the first one - I’ve got an LPB and that is very much like the top right, @Happypants has Tidepool and think he’d concur!

I'm colour blind, what do I know!?

Here's four pictures taken on my iPhone of my Tidepool all in the same room on the same day, it's quite a tricky colour to photograph and it changes depending on lighting. I'd say the closest to real life are the first two:

  5. 2021 Squier Classic Vibe '60s Jazz - daphne blue - 8.4lbs - Pure Vintage 64 pups

Excellent cosmetic condition, no dings to body or neck. No neck pocket cracks.

Lovely weight at 8.4lbs. Has Fender Pure Vintage 64 pickups fitted which are found on the Flea roadwork or American Original 60s (can't be purchased separately). Original pups included. No case/bag but can throw in a Thomann gig bag if needed.

Bought this from @Folkesy mainly for the pickups but has been sat in the case and I have since acquired a Flea roadworn (same pups) so it's surplus to requirements.

    Original advert:

Back of neck has had gloss taken off slightly. I have the action set with the E a smidge over 2mm at the 12th fret (fretted at 1st). There's a couple of high frets, the 10th fret A and E string buzz; if I was keeping hold of it I'd take it for some fret levelling/dressing (frets and nuts are beyond my home setup ability!).

Looking for £320 collected from Orpington. Can post to mainland UK at buyers cost/risk. Can meet-up up to an hour away.

  6. 2020 Stingray Special 4H - Tectonic Blue

Immaculate condition. No dings or damage to body or neck.

Weight between 9.4 and 9.6lbs on my digital bathroom scales so I'm saying ~4.3kg

Purchased from the MusicMan extraordinaire @MM Stingray 62.

I absolutely love this bass, it feels fantastic and sounds just like I want in my head. And whilst the colour is stunning, it just isn't really me. My plan is to pick up another in a different finish when one comes up, but for the time being I have some bills to pay and this is the sensible one to move on.

The colour has the ability to be both bling and subtle at the same time depending on how it catches the light. It's quite hard to capture in a photograph but it has a deep lustre from the sparkles.

Complete with original hard case but no case candy.

If I'm being super anal, the only things to note is the battery box screws are a little rusty (I've put some WD40 on them) and the battery box lug was snapped so I've super glued it back on. There's a tiny, tiny scuff in the top coat on the back which you can't feel with a fingernail so should polish out (too small to photograph).

Collection/inspection welcome from Orpington BR6. I'm also happy to drive up to an hour away for a dodgy car park meet-up. I'm also happy to post at buyers risk and cost to UK. I'm also happy for you to collect from my folks' place in Meppershall, Beds but they know nothing about bass and it would therefore be payment prior to collection. Payment via bank transfer or PayPal.

After £1750 which is what it cost me to get.

Let me know if any questions!

  7. Sold a Lakland jazz bass to Phil, what a lovely chap! He came over when agreed, we had a good natter about bass and left with a new Lakland. Genuine bass-phile and could have spent all day chatting. Deal with in confidence; top banana! @phil147

Another cracker. I dread to ask whether you’ve had to hire stablehands to help manage your stable. I always like seeing your basses on here though; fantastic taste.

Highly recommended seller. Good luck with the sale!

I’m fairly confident your stable is bigger than mine, I’m nearly down to a single rack with none hiding anywhere!

Hard for any Jazz to oust the Valenti though eh?

Seriously nice Lakland. I had my head turned by them after I bought a 44-60 on here and found the plek'd neck meant it had the lowest, playable action of any bass I owned at the time.

Seller is one of the good guys. Done a couple of sales/trades between us and he is a top fella to deal with.

Aye, the Valenti is special. This is lovely too but I want a blue/white one! Gushing praise indeed, the cheque’s in the post!

  9. 1997 Atelier Z DAL-5 Jazz Bass - refin Pearl Blue

Stonking super jazz but I'm trying very hard to get down to sensible numbers!

This was advertised on here although I picked it up from Bass Direct:

    https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Atelier_Z_Jazz_5.html?fbclid=IwAR0XpDHMMB_I4kisOc3kLbgn5cgjk2ZuXOVKMQneVaY1pO5f1-4VEl4G6gk

Was originally black, body re-finished by David Wilson in Hexam, commissioned when @bubinga5 owned it.

"One of the early golden era AZ basses made by Mas Hino who made the early Sadowsky Metro series basses when he left Atelier. The neck is all original with original Gotoh tuners"

    9.4lbs on my bathroom scales

Generally excellent condition. There's a couple of very, very minor marks but no dings or missing finish. If I'm being super anal, the paint has sunk ever so slightly where the original pickguard holes have been filled but almost impossible to photograph and very, very minor. I've included a little video to try and show below. There's a very minor neck pocket finish hairline crack on one side. Again, can't really see but mentioning for transparency. Some minor oxidisation of hardware.

    Maple Neck and Fingerboard

Chambered Alder body with Ash top

    Neck: 34", Maple,  21 Frets

    Tuners: Gotoh GB-30

    Bridge: Gotoh 205B-5/18P

    Pickups: Atelier Z JBZ-5

Preamp: Nordstrand 2B-4B (2 Band Preamps - Nordstrand Audio)   (Original Atelier Z EQ/M included in the sale)

Controls: Vol, Pickup Blend, Bass Boost/Cut, Treble Boost/Cut

    Weight 4.3 kg

    Nut Width: 47mm

String Spacing at the Bridge: 18mm

Hardcase - need to dig this out from my case cupboard, from memory it has no damage but will check!

Advertising it for what I got it for, which I believe is a very reasonable £999. Can post at buyer's cost/risk to mainland UK or collection/inspection welcome in Orpington BR6. Happy to drive up to an hour to meet. No trades please.

  10. Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones DJ4 - black sparkle (has a subtle fleck/sparkle).

I love a jazz, just have too many!

Excellent condition, some very minor marks including some buckle rash on back but no dings or missing finish. Drop D tuner, don't have original I'm afraid.

Tiny, tiny indentation on the back of the neck by the 7th fret. I can't photograph it's so minor but you can just feel it as you play.
