  1. In my opinion, a very worthwhile purchase.
Can't really say it has any noticeable adverse audible effects, but it does have a positive effect on speaker excursion in those inaudible frequencies.
You know, the ones you can't really hear, because the driver can't really reproduce them, but which do make a speaker motor work hard ...and therefore hot.
It sits there, doing what it does, no need for further comment really.

Edit: I play 4 string. I dunno about low b...

  2. For your needs I totally agree with the PA speaker route.
Get a decent quality powered PA speaker and maybe a preamp to shape the sound you require (as stated above, you may find you don't want an absolutely uncoloured sound)

I'm SURE you won't be disappointed.

(I too have a Phil Jones headphone amp and it's an ace bit of kit. Agreed, ...pricey but worthwhile)

  3. Not heard the soundtrack separately but after watching "Birdman" I was totally blown away by the score. I don't think it would hold up without the movie, but in the context of the movie, it was like the punctuation in a novel! ...in as much as on its own it would be a bunch of apostrophies and full stops, but by the same token, a novel without its punctuation would just be incomplete.
    Brilliantly appropriate.

  4. There was a period, and maybe this will put a stop to it, where asking the buyer to use PAYPAL gift was VERY prevalent on these forums.
It was always a deal breaker for me.
For the reason that, as a seller, you should factor in ALL the costs of the item for sale, when posting the price.
On the occasions when I have gifted money, the costs have been just shifted to me!
Plus, the seller expects me to give up all my legal avenues to get my money back, to save THEM some money...?
    NOT ON MY WATCH BUDDY!!!

    ;)

  5. I have 2 of these, and they are excellent cabs!
And just to put the weight in context, the post below this one ( at the time I wrote this ) is an Acme B1 1x10" cab which weighs 31 lbs or 14 kg. ...So the 1515L is a 2x15 which weighs a little more than a 1x10"!!

I used to cart a 2x15 around 25 years ago which was wardrobe sized and a 2 man lift. So believe me, these 1 handed lifts are a marvel of technology to my back, and ears!
    Good luck with the sale!

  6. I too bought an MP11 and footpedal due to gas! It's like owning a piece of bass history! If you remember how much you wanted one back in the day, it's a great feeling to actually own one!
The pre on its own is very light for something oldschool, but then it's only a pre-amp section, and all the heavy gubbins is in the power amp!
Fortunately these days their are options which won't break the back.
If I didn't have this combo already I'd be all over this deal... It took me quite a while to get the foot-pedal separately at a reasonable price. Good luck with the sale!

I've always found 6 easier than 5 for some reason
    [/quote]
I found EXACTLY the same thing. I got rid of a 5 string because it never felt right, even after 6 months. And yet the 6 string felt much more natural immediately. I agree with the playing across the neck comment too. As a bassist vocalist, I find it easier to stay in the same place on the neck on an extended range bass. (6, ...but same applies) while singing.
