1. Well it's interesting for sure, but I have the regular vintage and it's so impressive (to my ears, anyway) that I'm not sure this would be a substantial improvement tbh...
But thanks for the post anyway! Love the vintage. It has the sounds that I never found in my B3K.

2. Bought a Midi keyboard from John the other day... His comms were brilliant, and he kept me informed the whole time until it was delivered. Item arrived well packed and in great order. I can heartily recommend this stalwart of the Basschat forums!
One of the many good guys I have had dealings with on this forum.
Cheers Buddy!

3. I *THINK* the Polytune does have the option to switch it to not mute. I only know as my bands 2 guitarists use theirs in through mode. I have one but like it the way it is tbh.

4. And yet I bought a B3K, and didn't include it in my chain after several attempts to like it. Bought the Vintage, and it's the one pedal I wouldn't be without now.
If anyone is interested 'Oleg' the guy at 'U Sound' has cloned a Vintage and is selling them at about £110

It's a brand new pedal so I don't have first hand knowledge of how close it sounds myself. Might be worth a punt if you're a fan of the Vintage OD.

5. I was trying to track down a Yellow Q pedal a couple of years ago after hearing one on you tube. Asked on here but eventually got in touch with Oleg myself, directly in Russia. He's a lovely guy and made purchasing very easy. The Yellow Q turned out to be tuned for guitar players really, and a bit too sensitive for bass, but after chatting with him, he sent me a diagram of the resistor I would need to replace, with a new value one. (Haven't tried it yet as I love it as a guitar pedal tbh)
But he's a nice guy and will make a pedal suit ones needs if needed.
He's currently making a Darkglass clone pedal prototype which might be very interesting. And perhaps cheaper, I dunno... I have a b3k. And a vintage, so if I buy one of Olegs pedals I'll let everyone know how it compares...

6. Try the microtube vintage. I also have the B3k and just dont get on with it because it's got that fizzy sound (to my ears) which I dont like.
The vintage is just usable on all settings.
I also have Sansamp, a Tonehammer, an Agro and others, all of which sounded fizzy.

Borrow a Vintage, see if that is what you're after.

Edit: In fairness I'm not describing speaker overdrive, but if you want something which doesn't fizz, maybe that's whats important.

7. I just noticed this too:

Worth consideration... trully awesome cabs. And 4 x 12 plus around your budget...

Lightweight too... This would be all the cab you'd ever need. Full-stop!

Hmmm Can *I* justify another cab?
