I’ve been having lessons on zoom with Scott and can highly recommend him. Lovely bloke, great player and a patient, easy to understand teacher.

Martyn hardly needs any more positive feedback, but here’s some anyway. A real gentleman... highly recommended

Lovely looking thing. Something about the natural wood and tort plate that screams class. Or maybe it’s the black cap.

That’s a nice bass, if it wasn’t for the splits in the body
I thought the same.

Not an Ibanez you see very often...

Are you able to weigh this accurately, please?
Short answer: not really. I’ve just done the me and bass minus me test on the bathroom scales and came up with 4kg. Clearly there’s room for error in that approach. It’s lighter than my 94 P and very slightly heavier than my 1100s. Sorry I can’t be more specific but I don’t have the kit for a forensic weigh in.

I bought this awhile ago to be the passive partner to my much loved BB1100s, but after buying my first P Bass from @bigthumb recently my wife has pointed out I might like to downsize my collection somewhat. I believe this is a 1984 version of Tony Kanal’s bass of choice. The serial number is 142050. It’s black (obviously) with gold hardware and it sounds incredible. P bass with a bit of bite from the J pup. Despite the fact the action is set low there’s no buzz I can discern. It travels in a good clean Gator case that’s included in the sale. The bass has been played no doubt about it (I’m not the original owner) and it’s gigging years are reflected in the small dings on the body. The black headstock is actually in good condition as is the neck. The gold (plating?) is worn and tarnished in places (see pix) but everything works as it should. A lovely played in Japanese vintage bass in other words. I can ship this as I have a bass box, but courier not included in the price. If you can make it to South Somerset you’re very welcome to play the bass. Any questions please ask. The only trade I’m looking for is one of the smaller barefaced cabs (SC, Super Midget, one 10 etc) with cash adjustments as necessary. Thanks for looking.

Haven’t got much in the way of exciting gear, but I’ll be there to admire those who do.

Let us know how you get on with it. I use the 250 with the spectracomp loaded on the toneprint - it's basically a really really good compressor for free!
Will do... seems like a lot of amp for £200

Bought a 550... even got a £13 cable thrown in.

I've used a BH550 since they first released about 4 years ago.
It's seen off every other amp I've bought in an attempt to get something considered a bit 'higher end', including the ubiquitous Little Mark 3 and GK mb800.
Tonally, without using any toneprint, it's all about being super clean and clear, delivered with strong authority. It's extremely loud and I've never had to push it to get the necessary volume at open air gigs etc.
The EQ points cut and boost at different frequencies (really useful when playing at venues with terrible acoustics).
Toneprints are truly superb (especially the Spectracomp) but if truth be told, it's a bit rubbish that you can't mix two together, and can only have one active at a time.
The headphone socket and aux inputs are great additions that I find strange a lot of modern amps still aren't adding.
I've probably played 60+ gigs on it with not even a hiccup or issue of any kind.
At that price it's ridiculous value for money.
Thanks, that’s a great recommendation

Wish I'd not gone not the Andertons site following this. Lots of other stuff is reduced too, though not as drastic in reduction there is still a lot to cause me pause for thought. Dammit.
Sorry about that!

Andertons have new TC BH800 and 550 amps for £249 and £199 respectively which seems pretty amazing. Anyone got one of these and can recommend or warn off? I’m not particularly interested in the TonePrint Just a decent amp to use with a barefaced super compact. Thanks

nice looking BB300 in Newcastle. Not mine, no connection with seller etc.- 1

Just bought a lovely P bass from Paul at a extremely decent price. Lovely bloke to deal with... recommend

Bought a Sansamp BDDI from Rich and it arrived quickly and just as described.

Andy very kindly sold me a Yammy bridge for my bb450 which was fitted with a non OEM part. Really appreciated.

Dog puns aside WTF? Tragedy if he’s got a BB2000 for sale and no one buys it because they’re worried it will chew the furniture

Unusual colour isn’t it. The neck pup sounds particularly good so it’s going to be the P to my 1100s J. Did you contact the seller about it as well Andy? Was a Gumtree ad. I spoke to him on the phone and it sounded like he was winding down his playing. He also mentioned “my BB2000s” which is tantalising!
By that I mean he has several BB2000 rather than a BB2000s!

This feels like the best £350 I’ve spent in a long while. BB450 in coffee burst from a guy in Tyne and Wear. Immaculate condition (has an Omega bridge not the original sadly) and with a new set of La Bella black tape wounds sounds incredible to my ears. Even got a non OEM hard case. Old BBs are just brilliant value (not that anyone here needs convincing)

Blimey, Lovely Limelights are like buses. You wait ages for one then two turn up (in the for sale section) at once. Great looking bus, er bass. GLWTS.

Afraid I don't know too much about Ferrnandes specifically but this looks to be a nice example, all looks original and in cosmetically good condition, apart from some slightly manky looking metalwork. These are considered replica-standard instruments alongside Tokai, ESP & other high-end 80s Japanese brands - and price-wise it looks good, certainly when compared to JV Squiers & such from the same era.
One thing I'm not a huge fan of is the visible wiring channel between the control & pickup route when the scratchplate's removed - that's an odd thing to see on a bass with correct neck pickup routing & I'd wonder if that's original. The seller also mentions the bridge pickup being 'weak' - without any more detail it's hard to know what that issue might be or how weak the output is.
Had a quick look at the Fernandes catalogue archive & I think it's an FJB-65 - page 11 in this 1980 catalogue:
http://fernandes-cojp.check-xserver.jp/fer_wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/1980.pdf
Text is Japanese but the images appear to show DiMarzio-style split coil pickups & the push/pull controls.
Thanks for all the info. I’m going to take a look at it tomorrow. Agree that wiring channel looks odd. I suspect the owner won’t know too much about it because of the bass’s age.

This guy is offering the first lesson free.
if you purchase a series of disguises and assume a new identity each time you might get several free lessons. Alternatively you could pay for tuition like the rest of us (apologies if you are an utterly destitute bass player living in, say, North Korea).
