Hiya,
You're right, this is a great place to spend time. Welcome. -
Yep similar position here. Left a band back in the summer and haven't been able to find people to work with on anything original.
Got asked by a friend of a friend to start working on some soul/pop covers for a brithday party gig and have got a first jam/rehearsal tonight. Not really what I want to be playing but excited to be playing with a band again. -

+1 on Schecters and Corts.
I'm biased but I love Schecters. The ones I've played (both 4's and 5's) have been well made with a strong modern tone. There are plenty of woody finishes available too. -
yum
-
love it, something different.
Didn't we have a thread on how playing music live should be visual for the audience? -
I've played a couple of these and think they are great IMHO. I'm reasonably happy bass-wise at the moment, or I'd be all over this.
-
yep bass is panned right and guitar is panned left. It seemed to help with hearing both more clearly.
I think..... maybe
anyway, thanks for having a listen -
Evening all,
Attached (hopefully) is an MP3 of my first attempt at writing a song alone then recording all the parts (apart from the lead guitar part). Recorded at home using an M-audio alpha and Cubase. Quite proud that I managed to record anything at all.
Let me know what you think, all helpful criticism welcome particularly on recording technique.

sounds great, good luck with it.

Hi KiYap,
sorry I don't have answers to any of your questions but welcome anyway!
Rob -
I like schecter basses (IMHO). I've played a few and have a Diamond series C-4 (came stock with EMZ HZ pickups) at the moment as one of my main basses. Fit and finish on all the Schecters I've played have been good. Comfortable to play and balance really well (longish top horn and off centre tail pin).

love these guys.
Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers for me at the minute -
er.... hi
-
Went to see a band called Kong (myspace.com/kongdom). Had a very distinctive look of all red with wierd doll/plastic surgery latex masks. pretty cool noise band. Not sure how this contributes to the discussion but they had changed into civvies once they came to the bar for a drink.
-
For me it was pretty much all of RATM's first album, particularly Know your enemy. I'm still hugely influenced by Timmy C's bass playing and sounds.
-
Hi Andy,
yeah they're both cool songs. I like them a lot. Let us know when the finished mixes are done?
Rob -
cool, great tone, great playing
Thanks for posting -
Does it matter what he's wearing?
He's definately very talented, and unless you intend to date him,or he's wearing YOUR dress,it shouldn't really matter what he's wearing
I think that is my dress, lost it in Japan a few years back. Glad its gone to a good home. -
Aw, I was playing one of these a little while ago in a shop. Great bass but couldn't afford it then, still can't afford it.
Good luck with the sale.
