  1. Cheers for the comments guys. Yeah I still have that feeling of "hang it on the wall" but as you know they are meant to be played !😀
  2. Withdrawn from sale for now. Thanks to those who expressed interest.
  3. Thanks for the info, alembic63! Got to be honest the Fender serial number thing is a bit confusing at times !
  4. Hi all, Up for sale here is my 1975 Fender Jazz neck with block inlays. i say "1975" as I have previously been told it was a '73,but the consensus among those that know via the date stamp on the neck that it is "more than likely" a '75.... The neck has recently had a professional refret and a new top nut installed by luthier Steve Curtis at PMT in Salford, and is great to play. The truss rod us fine and all lined up perfectly when on my 2003 Highway one jazz-reason for the sale is that I've since gone back to using my Status neck-being honest Ive played graphite necks for over 20 years, and picked this up as I fancied playing something "different." As you can see the neck has clearly been played in over the years and has plenty of "roadworn mojo"-I genuinely wouldn't be selling it but for the fact that it deserves to be attached to a bass and getting some love! I'm after a straight sale,no trades please.Unless it's a straight swap for a mint Status S2000 😄 I'm situated in the Manchester area if anyone wants to take a look.
  5. Hi all, Looking to sell my recently acquired surf green J and D "Jazz" alder bass body and original scratch/neck plate (and screws),with added Seymour Duncan SJB pickups and Wilkinson bridge. These bodies are amazing value-the paint job is decent (there's a little bit of flaking in the neck pocket, otherwise it's a good overall standard) and it seems fairly happy with accepting Fender size bits-my Status jazz neck went on it no problem. This just needs a half decent neck and control plate and you've got a good quality, great looking, totally giggable bass. I'd rather sell it as a job lot,but if I'm pushed I'll sell the pickups separately for £50 the pair. Thank for looking.
  6. yeah...I did toy with the idea of putting it on another bass...but tbh I more than likely won't use it...better off with someone who will.
  7. Nice bass. The overall quality of these wooden necked Status instruments is superb-they also have graphite rods in the neck for extra stability. Glwts.
  8. Bass is now sold. Many thanks to all for the interest.
  9. And replied 😄 I'll try and get a definite weight later...all I can say is that it's really well balanced when you stand up,and doesn't feel overly "big."It's a Series 2 Roadie body, slightly smaller than the original MK bass.
  10. Hi all, For sale/trade is my Jaydee Roadie Active,in the white finish. In terms of trade,I'd be interested in a 4 string Status Series 2 or 2000 headless, with cash your way. Cheers for looking. Now sold-many thanks.
  11. Agree, they're ridiculously good value. The stock bass is totally giggable if you don't mind spending a bit of time setting it up,and the alder body alone is worth the asking price imho. All sold now fellas, thanks to all for the interest. Steve.
  12. Hi Apologies for the late replies... I make the heel width 65mm. With regards to the profile-I'd agree that it's certainly wider than a jazz bass...or at least any jazz I've ever played or owned...certainly closer to a "p." All saying,it's a nice neck...certainly wouldn't have any issues with gigging it if I had too. Cheers Steve.
  13. Hi folks, Upfor sale here is the maple neck, plate and electrics from my recently purchased surf green J and D "Jazz" bass. I originally bought the bass entirely with the purpose of modding,so there's parts have barely seen any use. The maple neck is of good quality-the fret ends have been professionally filed, and it plays nice. The Jazz pickups have a decent output, and everything works as it should electrically. Want to sell them as a job lot if poss.No probs with posting,as long as we can work something out...:-) Thanks for looking. NOW SOLD THANKS
  14. This is a bargain.Someone get it bought before I do something stupid!😄
  15. if I'm not very much mistaken that's my old bass...think MB1 may know something about this too...:-) It's an early 90s Series One.Nice bass to play. Got a different case than when I had it! Good luck with the sale.
  16. Lovely bass. I have an early 80s Roadie active and just its a beautiful player....John Diggins is indeed a master craftsman. Would love to see up and coming bands playing these on tv again!
