  1. Sold some preamps to Tony, it was a pleasure to talk with him, gave me some good suggestions as he's far more expert than me on basses, preamps etc. Pleasure to deal with him Thanks again
  2. There are so many lovely instrument FS on this forum at the moment.. possibly is covid time that slows down sales I don't see many marked as SOLD BTW I got today in my mail a brand new GLOCKENKLANG Preamp I will fit into the ACG this week end
  3. Thanks, so you think I'm not getting such an Improvement by moving to Aguilar? What about pickups? Would the jump be more noticeable? With nordstrands
  4. Hi there, I'm thinking of upgrading the Preamp and Pickups of my ACG Harlot (http://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0069-harlot-headless-5/) to get something more simpler to use and more transparent. I'm currently fitting - Preamp: EQ01 John East - Pickups ACG RFS+ SB I was thiking of getting - Preamp: Aguilar OBP-3 - Pickup Nordstrand or Aguilar Do you think I can get better tones from this new combination or is a waste of time / money? I also have a minor issue with the dimension of the pickups. one is 10.8 *4 (standard measure) , the second is bigger, 10.8 * 5 (not sure Aguilar or Nordstrand to such measure? thanks!
  5. A rare thru neck ACG Headless Harlot 5 A1 Immiculate, as new condition. So a new ACG for half the price. We’re talking exotic wood for days here: sycamore, Asian ebony, Wenge, flamed maple and swamp ash. It has grub screws for use with normal strings if that’s what you want. Just fitted a brand new GLOCKENKLANG stacked 3 band Preamp, made huge improvement on the sound vs the previous John East Eq01. Super transparent To commission it would cost in region of £3,000, although I’ve heard that Alan doesn’t now make thru necks. Perfectly low action, blue fibre optic dots on the side of the neck (which I found a lot better for use on a dark stage than the brighter LEDs that are common) plays like a dream and has plenty of punch. The fretboard is zero radius and the neck is asymmetrical (slightly thinner on the G side and thicker at the E). Unorthodox but I’m never consciously aware of it and find it very comfy: the neck plays itself. 34-inch scale Swamp Ash body core Asian Ebony top/veneer. Thru 5 piece flame maple/wenge neck Acrylic Flame Sycamore neck – no dots Dual Action trussrod Carbon neck rods Blue LED via fiber-optic side dots Black hardware Hipshot Ultralite Tuners. Hipshot Type A bridge - 18mm spacing ACG String anchor RFB humbucker bridge pick-up with coil switching RFB Single coil neck pick-up
  6. I found a 12 inches DXR12 and compared side by side with the DXR10, it's night and day, especially for bass guitar (I was mainly using the 10 with electric). 12 inches has less mids and if fuller
  7. Just realized I don't have the sound card with me as I gave it to a friend.. Need to wait when he's back from holiday..
  8. I understood it first came as a Private Stock only product, which means $$$, 7-8k price tag, and that was only maple board (maybe I'm wrong here) Then they started both the production and SE models In Italy it's sold new between 4 and 4,5k eur, in US cost less, on reverb the ones available are quite expensive though Mine is a 2016 model
  9. I'll try to post something this week
  10. It's a 34 scale Pickups are custom made by PRS (same for all their electric guitars, they all mount custom made PUs) First 2 knobs are volume for pickup 1 and 2, push pull for active passive Last 3 knobs are usual 3 band EQ Works also full passive without batteries
  11. Found this in a local shop, decided to trade in a PRS electric guitar as a partial trade I have to say this bass is incredible, sound really articulate and the B strings is super tight I see there's not much talk about PRS basses on here, just wanted to share for future references
  12. I wanted one, mainly temped by the great prices they had advertised on their website.. Then I emailed them for a custom order and suddenly the quote was twice the one advertised.. So I ended up buying an ACG Harlot 5 strings headless..
  13. I'm picking up one DXR12 this week end to check how it compares with my DXR10, if I'm not satisfied I'll try with a RCF 12 SMA I found in my area..
  14. that was also one of my doubt.. I might have to change the FRFR speaker to accomodate the bass, 10 inches is not enough for bass.. BTW, which presets are you using with the Stomp? any good one to reccommend?
  15. Hi folks! I've been playing electric guitar for the last 20+ years with all kind of combination, head+cab, combos, helix, fractal, kemper, Blueguitar, etc I'm currently using a Kemper Stage but I also have a Line 6 Helix HX Stomp for small venues (mainly use In Ear Monitors, but when needed I bring an Active FRFR - Yamaha DXR10). I started playing bass guitar more and more in the last year and in september I will start playing live in a 4 person band (guitar+bass+drums+voice) and I don't know where to start from. My current basses are an ACG Harlot headless and a PRS Grainger 5 with rosewood board. I was planning to use mainly the HX Stomp, alternatively use the Kemper but is this enough? When the PA is not good enough I see it can be a problem - is it enough to bring the FRFR with me? Plan B I have my eyes on a TC RH750, but can I use it directly in the PA (and get better tones than with my current rig) or it is non sense to use it without a cab? thanks!
  16. I have to balance the number of basses vs. electric guitars and this one has to go Superb guitar, very 3D sounding Violin burst 10 top PRS SC245 Currently fitted with 300+££ upgrades: a Bare Knuckle Manhattan P90 in the neck, and a Bare Knuckle Mule in the bridge. Both pickups have the cool aged covers, and sound amazing. Comes also with original PUs The guitar also has a Callaham solid stainless steel stop tail bridge - which is 100% better than the original (which I don't have any more). Weighs 3,6kgs - but isn't chambered; super comfortable weight, and very good balance. Mainly looking for 5 strings (but let's see what you have.. also 4 or 6..) ... Ok cash both ways Have some good reference here, bought recently a Yamaha Patitucci II and an ACG Harlot 5 Headless. Have plenty of feedbacks on other famous forums/reverb/ebay Pics
