  1. Decided to let these go as I don't have studio space any more, don't have time any more and it just seems a shame to leave them languishing in a box since the move back.

I'm sure you know how good these are and how much they cost new. Best price I can find is £435 each but they seem to be out of stock.  Shops that do have them, seem to be around the £495 mark.

There seems to be one only on Ebay as of last night which is broken and sold as spares. A few working Mk1s but no Mk2s.

They work perfectly, but as I no longer have the boxes , they've picked up a few light scuffs along the way which I have attempted to show in the pics rather than try and cover it up with auto dash-shine😂

Pretty impossible to post due to immense weight of these units so collection from Norfolk preferred however, if you sort the courier and insure them, I'll pack them to the best of my ability but the risk is yours. So, looking at close offers to £595

  2. Quite hard to find these 80W ones.

Two channel, acoustic amp from Marshall. Has two Celestion 10" 50w speakers.

Sounds brilliant, handle not snapped which is unusual.

Bought this quite a while ago and gigged it loads of times. The back had been taken off before I got it but apparently, that's what some people do.

Got a few age related gig marks and has a very slight low bump when turning on but doesn't affect use.

Ideal for an acoustic solo/duo act as it has an XLR mic input.  Everything works and it has a cover.

Cheapest I've found secondhand is £175 so  £125 sounds reasonable. Collection from Ashill in Norfolk IP25 7DA

Welcome to come and try and have a coffee.

  3. Bought a project bass from Andy. Arrived very promptly, and packaged to withstand a nuclear attack.

Such a nice and easy guy to deal with.

Great deal, and great service. Would not hesitate to recommend. Top BCer.

  4. I did a little gig once at a really cool french bistro and the guy who got the gig said he fancied doing it seated so we did.

Bit of Joe Cocker, Bozz Scaggs, Joe Sample so not ultra rocky stuff

It was a great gig and I felt I'd played really really well that night. It was really comfortable sitting and playing and I'm wondering if I played well because I always tend to practice sitting down so playing, is just easier. If you think about it, most of us probably spent 75% of our playing time sitting down.

I'd do it all the time if I could, health issues or not.

I can appreciate the frustration of mistakes, but if anyone in my band turned up at rehearsal with the intention of ‘knocking us into shape’ then I’d imagine they’d be looking for a new band, sharpish.

The crowd enjoyed it, job done. Make a metal note of mistakes and work on those sections in rehearsal, without ego. Everyone makes mistakes.

I never mentioned mistakes. It's an overall attitude of that'll do, tempos up and down etc.

  6. Just back from the second gig with a band I joined.

Audience loved it, pub paid us an extra few quid, other band members had a great night as all they hear and see is the audience reaction and then believe their own publicity. I thought it was terrible and it seems that I'm the only one who can hear it apart from two others in the audience. My wife, a singer and bodrahn player and my brother, a guitarist and sax player.  I need to knock them into shape before the next gig.

  7. Very nice and great sounding Valencia classical guitar in beautiful condition.  Model CG30R+  Ser No 4700359  Casa de guitarras

Paid just over 300 Euros for this in France when I was eager to embark on my Gypsy Kings stage. It never happened.

Could do with a set of strings but still sounds great with the old ones on. Used it once when someone requested Girl from Ipanema

Comes with a gig bag. A quick dust and it'll look brand new.  Now £125

Ideally pick up from Ashill in Norfolk but could probably find a guitar box if posting is a deal breaker.

  8. Fully working M-Audio 88 key controller. Have used it loads with the Roland JV1010 also for sale. Velocity keys (not weighted)

comes with a non original PSU and can probably chuck in a MIDI cable if I find it. Only fault is the little volume slider plastic top thing is missing but I might be able to stick something on although slider is still easy to use as the metal bit still sticks up.

Can't post as no idea how to pack it.

    Pick up in Ashill, Norfolk.

    More clearout stuff to come.

  9. Great fun bit of kit for studio or live. Adds harmonies (2 or 4, can't remember) to vocals. All working and comes with non original PSU. No box. Happy to post but PSU weighs a bit so ask for cost.

Plenty of reviews on You tube etc. No manual but really easy and obvious to navigate. If you're looking for something like this, you probably know what it does anyway. Now £60

    Thanks.

  10. Was looking for a trade but now sorted, so, now just looking to clear out stuff that doesn't get used as we've moved to a bungalow and lost a few rooms so space is at a premium.

I bought this as a bitsa.  It probably does, but may not have Fender origins however, it plays like a dream, as good as any standard Fender jazz I've ever owned.

Nice low action, working truss rod. Wilkinson Jazz set, Wilkinson gold coloured bridge, gold control plate, gold tuners, gold strap buttons and gold Fender anniversary neck plate. It's very pretty in metallic cerise and black headstock and the tort plate.  38mm at the nut,  19mm string spacing, 9lbs 2oz at the bathroom scales.

No 100% idea of neck or body origin but I would guess it's a Fender neck as it's such nice quality. It has a head-stock Ser No dating to 1978 which is obviously not correct. (S829127) Neck has a beautiful honey hue to it and is seriously comfy and nippy.

It sounds great, it plays great.

    Now £200

No case so handover preferred, or the usual dodgy car park within 15 / 20 miles of me. Welcome to come and try in Ashill near Swaffham/Watton IP25 7DA

  11. I've always played this as the intro being shorter than (and different to) the verses.

We repeat the intro,  before the solo which is the same as a verse.

...and you'll probably find that all of us play it differently anyway as it's just an end of gig racket that's usually in A😂

As I have become slightly obsessive about this topic...

I have discovered that different string brands react to the E45 cream in different ways!

Dr Hi-Beams steel rounds are not as affected as D'addario Pro Steels. I do not know why yet but I have a hypothesis... the Hi-Beams are round core and the Prosteels are hex. I suspect the roundcore means there is less room / fewer cavities for the cream to get in. The outer layer can wrap on a roundcore and make contact with it in more places than it can with a hex where the contact would only be on the pointy bits of the hexagonal shape.

Maybe the wrap wire is of a slightly different size too. I can't tell that because I don't have a lab quality tool to measure anything that small.

The length of time the cream is left on seems to have an effect up to a point, as does flexing the string a little to open up the gaps and get the cream in. Using plenty of cream, rubbing it in, then flexing the string a little (not actually bending anything) seems to make the biggest effect.

I did this because I wanted something that was a little grindier than my Dunlop flats but without any zing / overtones. I can't use nickel as I have an allergy. I wanted really old rounds immediately but without the usual old strings tuning and intonation problems.

Now my Sandberg J type has well moisturised D'addario Prosteels on it and it is exactly what I was looking for.

It will be interesting to see how they age further.

E45 is based on Lanolin - a natural water repellent found in sheep's wool. So with that seeing into all the gaps and cavities it might even prevent some corrosion over time.

I really hope this doesn't turn into a new special interest for me!

My wife's invited a few friends over and TBH,  it's not really my cup of tea and would ideally, like to get rid of them by about  9.30 so, was wondering if you're free on the 26th😂

Her delivery was sublime. The story behind the recording of Dusty in Memphis is well worth looking up if you don't already know it. And this track from that album is a favourite - check out the snare accent, on the two every second bar. Makes the song move beautifully.

Yup, Dusty was a one off. Always been a fan of her, but singing this song in particular, and gone are the days when all a solo had to do was mimic the vocal melody line. Same as on Girl from Ipanema, understated, but so perfect.
