  1. Great starter guitar if the shape is your thing. All works.  Super super light so ideal for a young'un if you have a budding Mustaine or Schenker in the household.

One pic does show the actual colour of dark metallic blue. Stays in tune, both pups working, 3 way works, truss rod turns and works.  Loads of life in the frets and no sharp edges.

Can take the neck off to post if required otherwise pick up from, or nearish to, Ashill IP25 7DA

No bag, but newly strung with Fender 10-46 as of this afternoon.

  2. It's back.

2 hours of Binga bonga do do  zippy yakka noo.

Hmm, 5 songs into the preliminary rounds nothing stands out. Our entry is pants.

Bring back Stock Aitken & Waterman. Never really a fan but they knew how to write a hook in those days.

Unfortunately gigging is about what the crowd likes and wants to hear. Gigging is not about our personal taste.

    Daryl

Gigging, is not my number 1 priority Daryl. Great if I can spend an evening playing smooth jazz to people who want to hear smooth jazz but also great if I can just get together with like-minded players and  play to no-one other than ourselves.

I don't need to get paid for playing. I'm happy to play charity gigs all day for nothing however, having said that, I wont play for £50 as I believe commercial gigs like pubs, clubs etc, should reflect the work musicians put in, not devalue it.

Sorry to hear you feel like that Keith. There are some similarly minded musicians around in the area though. I’ve come across a few of them. Unfortunately, I haven’t kept up with them because I am not in that league as a musician. That’s why I am still doing blues and covers bands 😀. I am sure if you keep looking you are going to find them. I’ll keep my ear to the ground and pass on the details of any that I come across.

Thanks Pat, much appreciated but I should elaborate a little, based on your reply.

Firstly, it's not that Blues or pub rock is, nor has to be,  any less demanding for a bass player than any other genre. It's just that I don't want to play it. Regarding standard of musicianship, in my case, I'm certainly no more than your average, intermediate player but,  I'd like to be playing with people where I don't have to worry about their performance in addition to mine and, who also like the same music.

Your reply also suggests that you're in a blues band or doing covers because you think that's what your ability limits you to. Having heard and seen you play on a few occasions, I would argue that you seriously underrate your ability. You have a great sound, you're seriously tight and, because you have confidence in those on stage with you, you enjoy what you're doing and, make it look easy.

Maybe you just need to find a different band?

I'm finding it difficult to meet people here with the same musical taste and mindset.  Not sure the venues exist for laid back jazzy influenced stuff, which is what I'd like to do. Seems to be Blues or pub rock all around.

I guess that's what most folks want but unfortunately not what I want to play. I also think that I'm slowly losing interest in music full stop.

  6. Last night's gig, as usual, pretty good for the band, not very for me. They appear oblivious to what's going on and what should be going on. Drummer all over the place with tempos, guitard too loud,  Vocalist needs a couple of lessons.

Add this to a beautiful old pub that has unfortunately been adopted by every socially dysfunctional t-w-a-t in the town. Most were already pi**ed when I arrived at 8pm. Women even more scary than the men, language you wouldn't believe inside and outside the pub and the obligatory drunk bell-end that informs our female vocalist that he is going to marry her as she's "fu**ing gawjus"

I'm too old to spend my time doing stuff like this with people like this. Bandmates are all lovely people but I'll play the remainder of the booked gigs and then bow out graciously. It may even fall to bits before then as the guitarist seems to be joining a third band anyway.

Musically speaking, it's been a big disappointment after my time in France so, time to retire methinks.

  7. Owen bought a mixer from me.  Paid straight away. Made the whole process very easy, very nice guy, great to deal with, the perfect BCer.

  8. Having now done a little more research on current prices, I'm reducing these to £450

Decided to let these go as I don't have studio space any more, don't have time any more and it just seems a shame to leave them languishing in a box since the move back.

I'm sure you know how good these are and how much they cost new. Best price I can find is £435 each but they seem to be out of stock.  Shops that do have them, seem to be around the £495 mark.

There seems to be one only on Ebay as of last night which is broken and sold as spares. A few working Mk1s but no Mk2s.

They work perfectly, but as I no longer have the boxes , they've picked up a few light scuffs along the way which I have attempted to show in the pics rather than try and cover it up with auto dash-shine😂

Pretty impossible to post due to immense weight of these units so collection from Norfolk preferred however, if you sort the courier and insure them, I'll pack them to the best of my ability but the risk is yours.

  9. Line 6 multi-effects floorboard controller. Very good condition.

Works with guitar and bass Pods etc and some other Line 6 units  I bought this a while ago to use with my Line 6 guitar kidney Pod.

If you want the whole lot (Kidney Pod and floorboard)  it'll be £85

P+P at whatever it costs but welcome to come and try/pick up etc in Ashill, Norfolk.

  10. Quite hard to find these 80W ones.

Two channel, acoustic amp from Marshall. Has two Celestion 10" 50w speakers.

Sounds brilliant, handle not snapped which is unusual.

Bought this quite a while ago and gigged it loads of times. The back had been taken off before I got it but apparently, that's what some people do.

Got a few age related gig marks and has a very slight low bump when turning on but doesn't affect use.

Ideal for an acoustic solo/duo act as it has an XLR mic input.  Everything works and it has a cover.

Cheapest I've found second hand is £175 so  £100 sounds reasonable. Collection from Ashill in Norfolk IP25 7DA

Welcome to come and try and have a coffee.

  11. Bought a project bass from Andy. Arrived very promptly, and packaged to withstand a nuclear attack.

Such a nice and easy guy to deal with.

Great deal, and great service. Would not hesitate to recommend. Top BCer.

  12. I did a little gig once at a really cool french bistro and the guy who got the gig said he fancied doing it seated so we did.

Bit of Joe Cocker, Bozz Scaggs, Joe Sample so not ultra rocky stuff

It was a great gig and I felt I'd played really really well that night. It was really comfortable sitting and playing and I'm wondering if I played well because I always tend to practice sitting down so playing, is just easier. If you think about it, most of us probably spent 75% of our playing time sitting down.

I'd do it all the time if I could, health issues or not.

I can appreciate the frustration of mistakes, but if anyone in my band turned up at rehearsal with the intention of ‘knocking us into shape’ then I’d imagine they’d be looking for a new band, sharpish.

The crowd enjoyed it, job done. Make a metal note of mistakes and work on those sections in rehearsal, without ego. Everyone makes mistakes.

I never mentioned mistakes. It's an overall attitude of that'll do, tempos up and down etc.

  14. Just back from the second gig with a band I joined.

Audience loved it, pub paid us an extra few quid, other band members had a great night as all they hear and see is the audience reaction and then believe their own publicity. I thought it was terrible and it seems that I'm the only one who can hear it apart from two others in the audience. My wife, a singer and bodrahn player and my brother, a guitarist and sax player.  I need to knock them into shape before the next gig.

  15. Very nice and great sounding Valencia classical guitar in beautiful condition.  Model CG30R+  Ser No 4700359  Casa de guitarras

Paid just over 300 Euros for this in France when I was eager to embark on my Gypsy Kings stage. It never happened.

Could do with a set of strings but still sounds great with the old ones on. Used it once when someone requested Girl from Ipanema

Comes with a gig bag. A quick dust and it'll look brand new.  Now £100

Ideally pick up from Ashill in Norfolk but could probably find a guitar box if posting is a deal breaker.

  16. Fully working M-Audio 88 key controller. Have used it loads with the Roland JV1010 also for sale. Velocity keys (not weighted)

comes with a non original PSU and can probably chuck in a MIDI cable if I find it. Only fault is the little volume slider plastic top thing is missing but I might be able to stick something on although slider is still easy to use as the metal bit still sticks up.

Can't post as no idea how to pack it.

    Pick up in Ashill, Norfolk.

    More clearout stuff to come.

  17. Great fun bit of kit for studio or live. Adds harmonies (2 or 4, can't remember) to vocals. All working and comes with non original PSU. No box. Happy to post but PSU weighs a bit so ask for cost.

Plenty of reviews on You tube etc. No manual but really easy and obvious to navigate. If you're looking for something like this, you probably know what it does anyway. Now £50

    Thanks.

  18. Was looking for a trade but now sorted, so, now just looking to clear out stuff that doesn't get used as we've moved to a bungalow and lost a few rooms so space is at a premium.

I bought this as a bitsa.  It probably does, but may not have Fender origins however, it plays like a dream, as good as any standard Fender jazz I've ever owned.

Nice low action, working truss rod. Wilkinson Jazz set, Wilkinson gold coloured bridge, gold control plate, gold tuners, gold strap buttons and gold Fender anniversary neck plate. It's very pretty in metallic cerise and black headstock and the tort plate.  38mm at the nut,  19mm string spacing, 9lbs 2oz at the bathroom scales.

No 100% idea of neck or body origin but I would guess it's a Fender neck as it's such nice quality. It has a head-stock Ser No dating to 1978 which is obviously not correct. (S829127) Neck has a beautiful honey hue to it and is seriously comfy and nippy.

It sounds great, it plays great.

    Now £200

No case so handover preferred, or the usual dodgy car park within 15 / 20 miles of me. Welcome to come and try in Ashill near Swaffham/Watton IP25 7DA
