Do you know a rough shipping cost to the UK?
-
What kind of price are these new? Feel free to PM if better!

I still really think the black guard is the nicest, I think a clear could look okay, but it would need to be burst around the edge I think to give some definition!

I've done this a few times, three times with basses from UK builders, and once for an amp from a UK company (that was for guitar though). I was pretty disappointed with them all in the end - the amp just wasn't suited to what I played, even though I'd spoke to them a lot, and the basses were works of art, especially two of them which were all very "woody" but just didn't play as good as other basses I owned.
I am sure the basses all found good homes, and one of them I would maybe buy back again if the opportunity arose, but I cannot see me ordering anything custom again.

I've had a few Japanese Fenders, 2 Ps and 1 Jazz. One of the Ps was a really rare Squier from the first month of production, the other a normal 90s one, and the jazz is a brand new 2020 black paisley.
And the 2020 is my favourite, and I sold the other 2 ages ago, but all were good, I don't think it's possible to say that all are as good or bad as MIA, as I've not had a bad MIA Fender either to be honest, I've never had a MIM bass, but the guitars I had were also good, just different because of parts, finish was good on them all.

I've put the one that came with mine back in the box for storage, and it's living in a Thomann one I have at the moment. I genuinely would never take a bass out of the house in the included gigbag - I expected it to be of the level of the ones you get with Gibson's tributes etc, which are cheaper guitars. I will get a hardcase at some point to replace it I think anyway.

Despite black blocks and maple not being my preferred neck (would have loved pearl & rosewood), I've given in to GAS for one of these. t will be arriving soon. If anyone's interested in seeing what it looks like with a clear pickguard, I'll see what I can do - I've got one somewhere.
And there was me thinking I was doing really well at resisting the GAS-y urge for the 60th Anniversary Jazz.
Let me know how shoddy you think the gigbag is! haha.

Is that a bad Photoshop?!
-
To be honest, I don't think I'll be changing the pick guard! I do like it how it is, and I try not to change anything on my basses nowadays.

I didn't take the pickguard off when I changed strings, but I can see silver through the thumb rest and pickup cover screw holes - so it must be under there.
-
I've gigged with am sr300 before and they are the best cheaper basses, they can play really nice, sound is okay!
I'd save a bit more if you want another bass, maybe for a Sire? Or mex Fender if you would like a jazz?

Playing awesome now I've put some 40-95 strings on it, sound is what you would expect from a passive classic jazz to be honest.
-
I know its not the main point, but why bother with a gigbag that isn't even worth a tenner?! It's awful, you could not actually use it for a gig, no padding.

So, I decided to change the strings on my new acquisition and part of the nut fell off. The width is 44mm ish but is quite chunky. Does anyone have any advice on a replacement? I’m not even sure it’s the original nut 🤔

That should work?

I actually found my old feedback thread on here, and I bought my Sandberg on here in 2007 from 99ster. I've emailed Sandberg to see when it was made, will see what they say when they reply.

I know I am the only person excited about this, but mine is at Peach now and I should have it tomorrow I think!

I don't believe that I've seen such a table but would interested to see it.
I seem to think it was on a bass that was for sale, but I cannot find it, should have taken a screenshot of it at the time.

I cannot for the life of me remember either, I am sure I made reference somewhere an old one of mine was 15 hundreds - and I think that was around 2010-2012?
Mine is 3697, I bought it from here around 15 years ago I think secondhand? I did have a really early one I bought from Germany probably 18 years ago, but sold it to a friend.

Yeah, but does anyone know where that table is? I cannot find it.
PMT bass sale now. Some real bargains

I ordered a used bass, but it still shows in stock and I’ve had no email.
