2. Jack Johnson - Flake nice and simple bassline.
3.
hey mate.. I'm interested but I'm as far south in England as you can go.. We'd have to use some sort of courier I guess?
Got your PM, I'll get in contact with you via email
4. My biggest influences are definitely : 1. Marcus Miller, 2. Ben Kenney, 3. Bootsy Collins
5. I play a Dean Playmate Electro-Acoustic which I purchased for £190. It's great value for the money, has a lovely warm tone unplugged, and It's pretty decent plugged in also. However, It's goes out of tune all the time, I don't know why, it just does. But, I would recommend this bass.
6. Jimi Hendrix - Izabella Fantastic!...really fun bassline to play
7. Krafty Kuts - Freakshow. Some fine basslines in this album, especially on the track 'Bring Back The Funk'
8. bump! great beginner bargain bass!
9. bump! i don't want to sell my SR500
10.
Ibanez K5.
+1 This is a really solid bass for the money.
11. Alright guys, after 2 years of solid use I'm looking to sell my Ibanez GSR200 in aim of getting a Lakland Skyline 44-01. It's a great piece of kit and in great condition, it's an active bass in trans red. Would be ideal for a beginner/intermediate player or would be ideal as a backup bass. It retails for around £170-£200...I'm looking for around £80 - £100, Pickup in Motherwell just outside Glasgow....might consider posting, just drop us a PM. Will get some pictures up eventually Cheers.
12.
Your paying £170 more for the Lakland, made in Korea, and it's an active bass...hardly comparable to a Highway 1, made in the US, which can be had for under £500 and are passive Still think that H1's are really good basses for the money.
Fair point man, the H1's are still good, don't get me wrong. But I was just going on price, as the store I was in only had a £40 gap between the two basses. The H1 being £629 and the 44-01 being £669.. had no idea you could pick up H1's for under £500.
13.
good to hear (another one to try )must put that on my list ,so you found the build quality good too then
yeah, certainly man. Just a great all round bass!
14. Played a Lakland Skyline 44-01 amongst others today, and I have to say, this is probably one of the best basses I have ever played. So easy to play, and it's just the right weight aswell. Compared it with some Fender Highway 1's, and this comes out on top. Looking to upgrade and considering selling my current Ibanez to get a Skyline, however does anyone have any other recommendations for good basses around the same price? (£669) Cheers!
15. alright guys! came across the website when searching for 'talkbass', I noticed that this site was UK based, so decided to become a member! I'm 17 and from just outside Glasgow in Scotland, my gear consists of an Ibanez SR500, Dean Playmate EAB Acoustic and an Orange Crush 40W amplifier. I'm just playing about with some friends at the moment, hoping to be gigging soon. My main band influence is definitely Incubus. Other bass players that I enjoy listening to are, Dirk Lance, Marcus Miller, Flea, Geddy Lee, Ben Kenney, Buddy Hankerson to name a few. cheers!
16. Ibanez SR500. Upgrading to Lakland in the next month or so.
