I personally prefer the M80, I actually pre-ordered one when it was released, so maybe 12-15 years ago? I actually hate that the colour switch is always on on channel 2, it makes using the second channel a real chore to be honest! Different strokes for different folks, it'll be perfect for what you need.

I got the M80 a while back and the 'clean' channel is very transparent and non coloured to my ears; very flat sounding so great for small EQ touches. The distortion channel on the other hand...

So modifying the existing one to change the aesthetic...makes a lot of sense.

That's why I have resisted buying a new one - the current pickguard fits very nicely so would rather try and stain it first before splashing the cash. 

My pristine white pickguard is a little too shiny for my liking. Does anyone have some tips to make it more dull, more like it's been hovering above cigarette smoke for 20 years in a pub? 

Blame culture in companies. 

Did Oasis break the US and then unbreak it? 

Pushing the string down on the capstan will also help.

That's my point - guitarist or bassist could cover singing duties. 

I remember after 9/11 and any song with the word 'sky' in it was banned. 

Zeppelin/Who/Sabbath - someone else just sings instead! 

If it's not too much money, the Markbass CMD 121P is a fabulous combo. Best amp I've ever owned. 

I tend to set the EQ for the room when playing live - different rooms, different sounds.

Recent convert to the dark side after a few years playing the geetar... have to say I'm enjoying the new challenge so far and can appreciate more now what role the bass guitar brings to the band.
