Well? I'd still like to know where I've performed a similar act of kneejerk modding plus public bollocking. The 'do as I say not as I do' was an indirect quote-of-a-quote response to my original comment. You obviously have a beef with me, so let's hear it. Or is my culpability based on a "well I reckon you've probably done it, therefore you have" reasoning?
Please PM me to discuss further.

I guess you've proved yourself right about something 😂
In my head I have this image of you as a near 60 year old that really does know the in's and out's of jazz and is right up there with all the greats of that genre.
I hope that is the case because 'Tact and Diplomacymaster62' really doesn't have the same ring to it.
If only you knew... which you don't. Yet you continue to assume. Continue following your dear leader without having a clue.

Seriously Ped, why are you just spreading lies?

That simply isn't true. No where on Finnbass does it have any of that.

IIRC the owner got locked out of the forum somehow and couldn’t get back in or decided not to bother.
Haha, you know that isn't the case.

i've never tried groundwound strings, but I like the idea of a set that feels like flats but sound a little more like rounds. Who's tried them - or swears by them? Which ones are good, or not so good, and why?
Don't bother. Grounds just feel and play and sound like very dead rounds. Nothing feels like a flat other than a flat. Pressurewounds might be worth a punt - feel in between a flat and a round and over time, start to take on more flat like characteristics.

MojoMojo didn't work out?

Tool will suffer the same fate Chinese Democracy did - all that build up but the album will never satisfy the fans Appetite.

That has happened here with at least one mention of Brexit.
Point well made. Do as I say but not as I do.

I got a thorough public bollocking on there once in a 'famous people who play musical instruments' thread for mentioning the words 'Tony Blair'. Was told in no uncertain terms that they have a no-politics rule and that I was never to do it ever again, 'do you understand?' I think I've been there maybe once or twice since.
How does it feel being on the other side of moderation for a change? You may have been 'that' mod in the past.

They used to have a decent app but it was discontinued for some legal reason I reckon . I asked what happened to it and I was informed by the thought police there that such questions were verboten.
Unless you PM'd Steve, there is no thread about this on Finnbass.

Apart from that it seemed to attract foul mouthed weirdos and perverts.
Real mature comment... several Finnbass members regularly post on here so step forward all the 'weirdos' and 'perverts'. People do say some daft things on the Internet, don't they?

My eyeballs refuse to read the bovine excrement on that site.
Again, guess my experiences differ vastly. I have found lots of information that has helped with my bass related purchases.

Half the accounts are Fender shills. No matter what the question is, thirty lads are lined up to tell you Fender is the answer. A depressing turn of events as it used to be a decent resource.
How many times has someone on BC said a Precision is all you need? That argument doesn't wash with me.

Just think the folks here are a much friendlier bunch than that “other” site across the pond. A lot of folks there act like they’ve small willies or something.
Disagree with you there. TBH this place reeks of jealousy most the time when talking about Talkbass. I have found it a hub of useful information and some very friendly people.

Depends what you want. My Sadowsky isn't a 'traditional' one but it's still awesome:
USA Custom Guitars two piece full size alder body
USA Custom Guitars maple neck
Brazilian rosewood fingerboard
Fretwork by Mike Lull
Sadowsky single coil pick-ups
Passive Volume/Volume/Tone controls Gotoh 201 bridgeWeighs around 10lbs so not lightweight!

Just a thought, but I wonder what the total asking price of gear for sale on here is at any given time. For example, at 9pm tonight (1st of August 2019) the total asking price value of basses for sale on page 1 of the ‘basses for sale’ forum totalled £38,000 and included some real high end exotic basses.
I believe that accepted logic is a preowned bass sells for around 2/3 of original purchase price (subject to condition of course) so just how much money are we ‘wasting’ in depreciation in pursuit of our hobby?
Please note: if anyone has the answer to this question, please do not share the results with my wife 😂
People don't know what they want so they keep buying and selling. I've had one bass for close to twenty years and haven't bought another one since buying it .

Just sounds like a B3K...

More money than sense if you buy that. Manufacturers need to get real with their pricing.

Cool, still have a generic metal tone for even more money!

Doesn't matter who posts here. People still like to regularly shoot others down for no reason.

Ironically, the cheapest was the best in this case. Found a pickguard seller on Aliexpress under the Pleroo brand. 74 Jazz 'guard replica. Fits a treat and cost me £5.50 all in.

Someone bought that Phil Lynott bass so chances are this will go too...

Ah, the old Mod tactic - discuss via PM when it suits them. Do as I say, not as I do.
C'mon everyone, gang mentality, pick apart the member who actually calls BS on the ridiculous claims made on this thread. No wonder anyone who is a bass player of even slight fame never sticks around.
Proof that BC and TB are one and the same.
