  1. So here’s the first of two basses I never thought I would be selling, but it is what it is. You don’t see too many of these, the photo’s don’t really do her justice, she’s a blingy beast of a bass which I have had from new about 7 years maybe? In that time I have recorded with it once, rehearsed possibly a dozen times and played live maybe twice, the rest of the time she has simply been hanging on my wall, so her condition is excellent. I’ll be happy to take more pics if asked and will happily answer any question! Currently strung with GHS Pressurewounds. Collection from BH1 preferred but prepared to meet up somewhere mutually agreeable! Thanks for looking.
  2. Aaargh! Yes, quite right, duly amended with the full title of AT 500. Thanks!
  3. So here’s my GR Bass combo. I wouldn’t be selling this but my Mesa Subway is calling me back. Everything you hear about these units is true. Unbelievably light - just under 9 kilos - and a massive sound. Full disclosure: I bought this brilliant sounding combo new but damaged stock. It had suffered a fall and the top left and right plastic corners had shattered. I sourced new corners directly from the good folks at GR in Italy. The carbon fibre board had compressed slightly on the top right corner but I can’t photograph it. I have a feeling that the tweeter crossover was also damaged but I always have them switched off. Included is the slip cover/flightcase type of thing I built - really sturdy and light in itself. There’s tons of info about these online - I’m going to upload more shots when I can and will be happy to take specific pics if asked. I’d be a bit loathe to ship this anywhere so collection from Bournemouth. You’ll want to see it and try it out anyways. Thanks for reading!
  4. So here’s my 208 … never thought I’d sell this ‘cos it’s so blinkin’ useful. I’m only letting it go because I’ve just splurged on a GR Bass combo and space is limited. It’s done plenty of rehearsals and gigs, and is so small and light and sounds way bigger than it is. I had thought that the TonePrint thing was a bit of a novelty, but it’s actually really useful. It will come with the foot switch that allows you to toggle between the last two effects used. In great nick, it’s a real pocket rocket and ready to go. Collection from BH1 only I’m afraid. Thanks for looking!
  5. I just recently bought this combo as an experiment, to see how the sound/versatility/weight scored over my usual Mesa live rig. It actually performed brilliantly, lovely tight sound with loads of headroom and I’m really loving the TonePrint feature.. totally portable and lightweight, but my Mesa’s just sitting there calling me back. I’m so impressed with it that I’ve gone and bought the 208 version for rehearsals - it weighs nothing and it really is surprisingly capable. This 115 is in immaculate condition with an unmarked Roqsolid cover. Sorry, collection only from Bournemouth or happy to meet somewhere mutually convenient for gas.
  6. I’m rather afraid they are all as bad as each other … your choice! PayPal??
  7. Activated!! As long as it fits my newly-ordered Fender FA 450 … what do you think?? Postage to Bournemouth BH1 OK??
  8. Bit of a weird one this … so I bought a used 5 string Squier, pulled the frets, filled with epoxy and sanded, installed two Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders, (£200 right there… ) bought a Musicman-style plate, connected it all up together, threw on a set of gold nylon coated strings and presto … an extremely playable 5 string fretless with a great sound! This bass won’t ever win any beauty contests but it sounds really good. Incidentally, the Squier neck is EXACTLY the same profile as my Fender Elite 5 string, super comfortable and weighs in at 10lbs. Not for everyone, but maybe of interest to someone who’s looking for a decent budget 5 fretless. Pref. pick up in sunny Bournemouth but happy to courier at cost. No case on this one I’m afraid but my packing skills are legendary! Thanks for reading …
  9. Not in the 34” Omni …. at least not as far as I can see!
  10. It’s an NS Omni in white. Seem to be as rare as the proverbial here. I am loving my Amberburst Omni, but there’s something about the white ……. GAS!!!
  11. Cracking little combo’s these - mains or battery, headphone out, auxiliary in, onboard compression, tuner, amp modelling, drums and effects all in one tiny box! Collection from Bournemouth or will post at cost.
  12. Hey - still available?? Could be up for this! I’m over in Bournemouth.
  13. So here is my BG150 - 150 of your Phil Jones watts through four of your Phil Jones 5” drivers. Perfect for recording and small shows…. bigger shows with the DI on the back. In great condition, with an active/passive input and limiter, it’s pretty much a one-finger lift and sounds a lot bigger than it should. Pref. collection in Bournemouth, will travel for gas or prepared to courier at cost at buyers risk!
  14. Thanks guys - all comments and suggestions are understood and much appreciated! I should have mentioned that I would have been using a fretless, so I guess pitch-to-midi is a bad idea all round. Time for a rethink …. gonna try a BOSS SY200 and see what I can get out of that.
  15. Hi all - so I have this idea that I’d like to play some melody lines via a pitch-to-midi device (sonuus g2m) into something so I can achieve individual sounds like piano, flute, whatever. I know I can do this with, say GarageBand whilst recording, but I’m thinking of using it in a live situation….. is there a box that will allow me to select ‘oboe’ or ‘harpsichord’ on the fly whilst on stage?? Anybody?? TIA!
  16. Yes, there are dots - right on the fret lines. Hope that helps!
  17. Works exactly as it should - bought used a year ago and only used a handful of times since. Fantastic quality as you would expect from Shure, and easy to set up. Happy to demonstrate here in Bournemouth if required.
  18. So I bought this bass new from Thomann maybe six months ago just to see if I could take to fretless. Turns out I could, so have since invested in a more expensive instrument. This bass weighs nothing and is actually a lot of fun to play - I put GHS Pressurewounds on it and lowered the action. It sounds way better than it should at this price point… comes with a very solid moulded StudioLogic flight case which I bought off our favourite auction site. It had been hacked around a bit inside but it doesn’t affect anything. Prefer collection only from Bournemouth.
  19. Same here …. been playing for 50 years plus. Never really made much money at it, but the love of playing music has taken me places and introduced me to people I would never have met otherwise. It’s been an obsession that ruined both my education and social life, still does and I don’t regret any of it!
  20. Bummer - what goes that mean for the rest of the tour??
  21. Caught you guys last night - just before Mr. Sutherland came on stage and cancelled his own gig. Bleedin’ Covid. Loved your band though, a good show!
  22. Don’t get it …. maybe I’m missing something. So I ordered two sets of TI’s specifically for Hofner basses, the JF324H. This is what I end up with, (the E and G) which is what I always thought was a def. no-no. Same on both basses, a 1964 violin and contemporary Club. Thoughts anyone?
