  1. Also sorry to hear about your situation .
It is a steal , but I 'd say  that the main / only reason this hasn't sold is because of the cost of living crisis .

There are a few basses that are still hanging around here, of which some have had their asking prices continually cut .

My advice fwiw is to not reduce price ,but just bump it on a regular basis .
It'll sell eventually ,and possibly quicker as you have postal options .
This is a bump I guess, Glwts

  2. Played a few gigs in Watford in the early 2000s . I've been there , but cannot remember if I played that venue .

I saw a couple of bands there , including a friends covers band . From what I can remember , it was a busy and lively venue.

was there a crazy landlady there ?🤔

I did play the beehive ( again memory a bit sketchy) , and my last gig being the sportsman where the landlord was a top bloke ensuring drinks were on the house .

  3. I purchased a fretless bass ( vester) ,and was wondering what strings were fitted . Of all the basses I have /had , the action and feel of the bass is the best of all .
The bass was purchased in 1995 /‘96 and still sounds and feel amazing. Sound hasn’t changed much if at all.
I did fit them on my telecaster for a short time, which I used to have and they were great on them too.
Thanks to another basschatter , for letting me know what they were.
The only downside, is that they are apparently very expensive strings..

  4. I have quite a few of their sub-zero  mini guitar effects . I also purchased the small metal flight case / pedalboard to accommodate them complete with daisy chain transformer .

They look really cool , and  are very good quality for not much dosh.
They do sell them as packs for genre of music you may like , or separate . All good .
I have a  sub -zero 4 channel midi interface also . That's good also .

I find the service from G4M top notch , and they use DPD which are good in my area 🤞

  5. Tom waits . Couldn't stand him initially . This was because my bosses played his entire works in the office in an almost daily basis .

I heard his earlier country sounding stuff . One track I still really like though ' step right up ' . That is brilliant .

He did an album with les claypool on it . Pronably the last album I heard of his . I was at 5hat company for a long time 🙂
I know he is very talented .

After watching the BBC Documentary ..I finally got him a ! 😬

I like this track, but the video was doing my head in .

Now I finally have ad free you tube , I'll have to check him out miote thoroughly .

    Thanks for the reminder ..🙂

Wise move...sell it now and you'll kick yourself in 5 years time. You'll want to buy it back by which time they'll be £1,000. You'll tell people that you had one, sold it for virtually nothing and sound like that Monty Python sketch...."I remember when..."

Thank you sir ! Trimming the herd can be problematic , and  I have enough stuff to keep me busy 😼👍

  7. Okay, I think I'll update . .

Nice bass with modifications .  Modifications may not be everyone's cup of tea ️ and some may think bass is devalued. Because of it

Times not so hard🤞, and I think ithe best thing is to just forget about it .
The reason I thought about an Ibanez headless , is because of the weight . This is Rich American Walnut = Heavy .

Proper bass quality l  Niot sure if 'Made in Indonesia ' is as good 🤔

I'll forget abiut this listing , and  will probably keep it ,

    I'll leave it there 😬...

  8. Might as well do an update , as back from the pubs 🍻( Not a bump as such-honest 😼

I did initially think about selling ( this and the Washburn ) . However ,there is no rush as things are not too drastic as I they potentially werev. 🤞.

I think imho , this probably would be gone if I posted . Paranoia  got in the  way .

I won't bump anymore , and see what gives .

The only reason I thought about an Ibanez headless, is I'm used to an easy life and they're light .
playing randomly at home , is okay but I am more into synths and am thinking of making things more direct and easier at my age 🦽

warwicks are complicated it seems , dependiing on woods / year built etc .  It sounds like I have a good one .

I'll leave it there and see what gives .

Are you by any chance going to the South West Bass Bash in Taunton on the 8th

and possibly taking this Corvette - just asking for a friend of course

Thank you for your enquiry 🙂. I've just looked at the journey ( or should I say expedition 🧗‍♂️) to Taunton from my neck of the woods .

journey says no ,and probaly strike means no also . 🚝. I can feel withdrawal symptoms coming on 😬

I posted in the Geddy Lee thread about the change in gigs being more towards the visuals. People now spend so much time in front of screens, CGI films, computer games and listening to enhanced production values within music with auto tune and multi track overdubs that people no longer know what 3/4 men sound or look like.

But then watch on 3 inch screens and minute speakers. 😆

What does a U2 gig cost to see now?

Wondering if I should have seen them in the 80s when I had the chance to see 4 blokes dressed in black. 😆

Although the rate bands are having splits and members dying perhaps U2 should be a band I go to see. (Another thread?) to say I saw them,

I couldn't read and run , but I'm still traumatised by the vacuous st.Bono  who destroyed the  gig I saw them at Twickenham on the vertigo tour .  He single-handedly changed an okay rock/ pop gig into a telethon telling us all to ' make a difference' and a text no was

shown all round the stadium . Telling us all to co-exist while wearing some graffiti like bedsheet on his head in a pope like manner.

What caught my eye here , is you wondering about the potential cost of their next mission/tour l

I paid £75 from the ballot from Twickenham Rugby Association .  I only went because one of my friends wanted to go, and crash over at mine as I lived not too far from the rugby ground at the time .
Never ever again ! I can't listen to them now at all . I did think ( ironically ) that the October album was their best .

That was the second time , as I saw them at Wembley on the Joshua tree tour previously . That was okay. Lou Reed was abysmal ,and Shane McGowans popes were imho the best band of the day .
I think that you had a lucky escape not seeing them when I did that's for sure .
with all his virtual signalling , and tax avoidance maybe they are best paying you for the privilege 😬
