I looked into this a while ago and while the shop would sell to me on the quite all the added extras made it not worthwhile

I use a zoom 506ii pedal plugged into my PC's mic socket with the output volume on the zoom turned right down then use audacity to slow down the song I'm learning, then headphones in my PC soundcard, sounds easy to balance out, works for me

sounds like a good day till the Jools Holland in concert bit

try downloading music mentor it's not perfect but it points you in the right direction

I know my hearing is crap, through headphones I could hear something at every stage except 20Hz?????? I'm 58 BTW

I emailed the UK supplier for Zoom and asked where I could get one from and they're sending me one FOC, it's always worth asking.

I tried the MB4210 with my band this evening and it was ok, still not as loud as some may say (IMHO) but the room we play in has a very high ceiling and is a very large classroom so the accoustics dont help, maybe in a pub or club with low ceiling will be good .

You get what you pay for and I like the sound of this amp but am a bit concerned about the potential lack of headroom for larger venues, I can get a refund but will have to pay the postage to send it back, also I dont have any more cash to buy a more powerful amp at the moment so looks like I will keep it for a while .

I use mine with a 1 x 15 extention cab at gigs, it does make quiet a difference and adds some more bottom end

I've got one of these and they are serously loud, you've either got a problem with your bass or the shop has sent you the same one back again, ask your guitarist to play through it se how loud it is then, oh make sure the compressor is off

I'm a left who plays lefty, there has been occasions when looking for basses I wished I'd learnt right handed, but us lefty's have a big advantage when playing gigs on a small stage, it don't half make extra room if both guitars have the neck facing outwards, especially if there's a singer prancing about in the middle, and it looks better more symmetrical Hercule Poirot would know what I mean

I've got an 1981 professional II that I'm fond of, made in Japan, with Dimarzio's, made at the same factory as Tokai's I believe, but I may be wrong, again

I play in a drums/guitar/bass punk /covers band, have tried various p copy's a MIM jazz and a stingray, as soon as I got a MIA P it took the sound of the band to a new level, it just fills the sound out better than all the others

Yeah I put some quarter pounders in it and it didn't make any difference, then I found out mine had been fitted with dimarzio's from new

Expectations, you get a cheap bass and you make allowances, an expensive is expected to be perfect, and everybody likes to convince themselves they've got a bargain. I've got an old Hondo that I like to play but when playing in a band a MIA P justs cuts through better and has a tighter low end

I used Elites for a while, sound great new, but soon lose their zing, prefer Elixirs now not as bright new, more expensive, but cheaper in the long run, they last ages even when they've started shedding their skin

we use a 1000 watt Yamaha EMX512SC mixer amp depending on venue it can be used with 2 speakers, 2 bass bins or 2 monitors (8 ohm) loud enough for pub gigs etc

To much theory gets in the way of creativity, if it sounds good use it

I would have thought that putting a reserve of say £100 and starting the bidding at £100 is the same thing, the only difference is with the later everybody knows where they stand, or maybe I'm missing something

Re undisclosed reserves - it's something I completely fail to understand the point of. If I was unsure that an item would reach its market value with a low starting bid (99p, in my case) then I'd either start the auction at the lowest amount I'd be prepared to accept, or do a BIN with offers. I think secret reserve prices simply put people off - personally if a seller refuses to tell me the reserve, then I simply move on. As a buyer, the basic rule of Ebay is that another one will be along sooner or later, and be cheaper & better than the one you missed.

When selling I find it helps to discourage the tards by being very, very specific about the terms & conditions of the auction, and stick them in bold red underlined type at the beginning & end of your listing. After a few Ebay sales it's not hard to second-guess most of the questions, demands, requests etc, so you can just politely refer them to the conditions of your sale. If that doesn't put them off, block them. In the face.

Or just sell your stuff here.
