1. I have a black one of these. They play wonderfully and have a great sound, plenty of middle, even with the P pup solo'd. They seem to have a lot more grunt than other PJs, not sure why, pup placement, freq centres of roll off? Anyway it works. Good luck with the sale Leo
 2. Great condition fully working Will upload my pics later 16 ins mappable to any of the 16 outs and memory locations to store patches. Wonderful piece of kit, cost me £420 £50 ono Manufacturers spec below Details The Smartpatch is a programmable automated routing controller that allows connections between sources and destinations (outputs and inputs) to be made electronically rather than with patch cords. Making connections with the Smartpatch is a snap, simply press and hold a source key whilst pressing the required destination key and the connection is made - The adjacent LEDs illuminate to show the connections. With no menu structures to navigate, operation of the Smartpatch is refreshingly simple and intuitive. Any number of connections can be made between the sixteen sources and destinations (this is called a patch) and stored in memory for recall at any time, either manually or under MIDI control. There are 128 internal patch memories on the Smartpatch, each of which holds a complete snapshot of all connections between the sources and destinations. Features * Only occupies 1U of rackspace * 16 inputs and outputs plus three optional MIDI connections * 128 programmable patch memories * Fast and silent switching of connections * Routing of upto four sources using MDR (multiple destination routing) * Available in 2 or 3 pole versions for mono, stereo and balanced audio lines * Neat slide-in strips for socket designation * Mains powered Specifications: Front detail * Channel switching buttons, patch display & main power Rear termination * 1/4" Jack input / outputs * MIDI control inputs Dimensions (W x H x D)(mm) * CPT96D25 - 483 x 45 x 71 * CPT96T - 483 x 45 x 69 Net weight * 483 x 135 x 45mm General * Half and Full normalising programmable on every channel * Switch contact resistance <0.03 Ohm * Switch contact life >10,000 operations * Min. rack opening required: 442m
 3. What's the circuit in the bass, can you describe its tonality, growly, clear, hi-fi? Ta Leo
 4.
I am so impressed (not)
Almost as impressive as a Jazz promoters takings?
 5.
Either he's decided to avoid us as have most of the 'pro' bassists.
Wow, I wonder why that would be
 6.
Uh.. OK. I can only take it that you've never publicly ridiculed anyone before, regardless of wether they were present or even aware of it. If that's the case, I salute you. You're a saint. ...although it does feel a bit wrong disagreeing with Leo Fender. Never saw that coming.
Im sure I have but 2 wrongs dont make a right. Im no saint, maybe occasionally biblical in my creations (yes blasphemy is a sin, there goes any chance of the halo now) And I forgive you
 7.
You're missing a large dollop of context, in that case.
And so is everyone else, I am not defending this guy, I am objecting to the use of public ridicule for amusement.
 8.
Are you seriously saying you have read his posts/watched the videos and you don't think he comes across as an arrogant berk who is totally unaware of his lack of ability?
No I haven't, The reason I haven't is because I wasn't that enamoured with his music so i didn't look any further. I also didn't want to start slagging him off as a person or a player, and Im not saying you did either, all I am concerned about is the way people in the thread are happy to belittle him or his playing for nothing other than self amusement. So far i think 2 people have offered constructive criticisms, the rest are, well lets not start again.
 9.
He can read it if he wants. You could benefit from it,to a point,if you take on board the problems pointed out and work on them yourself. I do this all the time.
Yes that is called reflection, however it only truly works as part of a complete learning cycle as in Kolb. ie taking part in all of the experiences which is'nt applicable as i did not play or compose the piece of music in question so therefore the value of your critique is little.
 10.
And who are you to judge who will benefit or otherwise? You seem to be all sweetness and light one minute, and abrasive and all-knowing the next. You also seem to like telling people what to do and what not to do based on your personal perception of what's right and wrong. How many personalities do you actually have?
You obviously are misinterpreting my posts. I am simply at a loss to understand the barrage of negative comment relating to this guys playing. It doesn't portray this or any other forum in a good light having the sneering bile and derision displayed to some one who post videos, which they are obviously proud of. Does it really offend you that he enjoys his playing and composition of his music. Im also sorry if you feel I have an audacity for disagreeing, or offering retorts in a manor they were engaged but that does not mean I have multiple personalities, pretty infantile comment, suites the school yard attitude of some of the posts.
 11.
Alright then..... Rhythmically he is all over the place.Whenever he goes for anything even remotely complex his time seriously drifts and he ends up doing those big slides while he gets himself back together. Harmonically, everything is very simple and based around the minor pentatonic, with his slap playing being limited to E and occasionally A minor pentatonic. Technically,he gets a lot of fret buzz and he often trips himself up because he is trying to execute ideas that he can't pull off. He has a lot of confidence in what he is doing, which because he is unable to back it up with his playing, manifests itself as ego. He could be a much better player if he spent some more time in the woodshed rather than producing ego boosting videos of himself. Constructive enough?
Well tell him not us. I, nor anyone else will benefit from your peer based assessment of his performance
 12.
See the mistake you've made here is confusing confience with delusion.
I'll bow to your telepathic Psychological analytical power, or your in depth knowledge of the man or his music. How do you know its not supposed to sound like that, if he is happy with the performance, then it is.
 13. Right, Im off to play my bass and enjoy the music I create
 14.
Why me in particular?
If the cap fits?
I know this isn't aimed at me, but I'm fairly sure I haven't criticised JAXSN's ability. He can slap better than me, for sure.
No not at all WOT, much better than me too.
 15.
Nevertheless, you have assumed that position on here with constructive criticsm of some of our attitudes to jaxsn.
No I object to your attitude, I have taken exception to the way he has been treated I have not criticised the way you have delivered your criticisms, quite the opposite in fact, I find the way people have ridiculed his ability as a musician and his performance of high merit. In fact nobody could deride the fellow musician with a greater expertise. Seems to happen a lot round here.
 16.
? We're not profssional critics, the last time I looked. We're all just a cross-section of Joe and Jenny public.
Then do not assume that role. If people didn't laugh at his playing there wouldn't any thread. Just seems very ironic that this thread was born out of contempt for the very attitude on display throughout most of these posts.
 17.
Are you really this warm and cuddly in real life?
Yes
So what constructive criticism would you give jaxsn then? And one must take care with constructive criticism as it can come over as rather patronising.
That is down to his peers. I would not be so arrogant as to assume this position. Love and Cuddles x
 18.
..and as such is open to judgement from anyone who cares to comment.
You wouldn't get a professional art critic writing in his column "Yeah had a look at it and its sh*t" Im sure their deconstruction of the work would have some educated analysis not just dismissive and full of ridicule.
 19.
I have no wish to comment on jaxsn as I am unfamiliar with his music, but in general terms I strongly disagree with the above statement. Delusion is rarely a powerful force for enhancing quality. Jennifer
Delusion or desire to continue playing the bass? Kicking the SH1T out of some ones confidence, misplaced or other is going to do nothing for him as a player, or us as a community of musicians.
 20.
I disagree. Would you like to see Have I got News For You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and (if you don't like those anyway) virtually every form of satirucal comedy wiped from our TV screens? What a boring world it would be.
I disagree with you, He is not a politician, therefore does not have to answer to anyone for his performance, Music is an art form open to interpretation by the individual. If you dont understand his composition that is your problem not his. This is a Bass related forum that should support all bass players and Have I got News for You is a satirical based comedy show that purloins people who are publicly accountable. Slight difference in the two, or I would hope so? A rhetorical question but where would you draw the line at Satire?
 21.
Just find it ironic that a thread is started about someone getting dissed on Talkbass and our opinions on it, then the dude ends up getting dissed on here as well.
+1
