7.
The BT shape is great, so much more elegant than Ken's other designs. He should have stuck with that one! If it was good enough for Chuck Rainey...!
I totally agree but the bsr shape is growing on me, I still really want a bt though I would love to buy my old one back but I have no idea who has it now,

 15.
You could always by my Ken Smith Burner to feed your fretted 6 needs
I did look at that & it looks lovely but unfortunately I don't have the funds to buy it, I'm surprised it hasn't gone at that price ,
 16.
I have also considered having Paul build me an additional fretted neck for my Wal six. It really is a point that fretless playing is for home or studio use mostly ... I think 1000GBP for a fretted six string neck is adequate since most of the construction time goes into it. I think I remember reading on some Wal forum that Pete Stevens also mentioned that. And there is the point of being able to swap necks without having to worry about playability and bridge setup because of that brilliant neck bolt construction of Wal basses. I once had a 1985 MKI marked fretless with ebony fingerboard and stumbled over a used fretted 1986 Wal MKI rosewood neck for silly money. I swapped the necks without any problems and had two basses in one with two different sound characters without having to adjust or change anything about the setup of the bass - incredible! Oliver
Hi oliver, I like the idea of having both fretted & fretless necks but It's just being able to afford it at the moment, I also miss my ken smith bt6 & this would fund another one
 17.
Hi like the man says, if you love it just have it fretted, we can do it, will cost about £170, much cheaper option alex
Hi Alex, I did think about having it fretted but it would mean repositioning the dots & the nut seems set deep into the fingerboard,
 18.
My Jaws just hit the floor! I wanted your Thumb Fretless 6... Now I want this sooooo bad. Price is outa my range... But my god this deserves to go to a good home!
That thumb was really nice too, very heavy though
 19.

It's 1000 for a fretted 6 string neck too, I enquired with paul,
 20.
littleal, by the end of November I was at Wal workshop to place an order for my bass, and happened to watch various wal basses pics with Paul Herman since I wanted to show him the way I wanted the figuring of the top wood. When we came across the pic of your bass, he sort of "jumped" saying that he was particularly satisfied with yours, far better looking in person than in photo and very good sounding. I just thought that it needed to be shared with you, M
Thank you for that, unfortunately I need a fretted 6 so it may have to go unless I can afford to have a fretted neck made
 21.
Hi Al do you do Takeaway? £400 down and 9 months of £400?
Unfortunately I don't do take away, I do cash on delivery
 22.
I enquired about a fretless neck for my old 4 string fretted Wal, Paul quoted me over £1000, that was last January. I shudder to think what a 6 string fretted would cost.
I didn't think it'd be cheap & I'd probably have to sell another bass to pay for it.
 23.
That's a lot of bass to let go so soon. Why not do the classic Walnut trick and ask Paul to make you a fretted neck?
That might be a good option as I really do love this wal, I'll contact him & see what he can do
 24. It is with big regret that I have to let this go but I no longer need a fretless bass, this wal is as new & sounds & plays out of this world, it is on the wal web site in basses & gallery (american walnut facing with gold hardware, it cost me 4'250 I'm asking 4000 or px for the same but fretted, ken smith bt6 black tiger as in my avatar or maybe an alembic series 2 5 or 6 string, Any questions & I'll be happy to answer them. I'm offering this for 3850 for this week only Now down to £3600 I will now let this go for 3'250
