Listened to Bjorks Medulla at last (a week late) - masterpiece. Why I didn't already have this in my collection I don't know.
Excellent. That's what this thread's all about.
I've yet to listen to anything that would inspire me to buy it, but it's still early days. 😁

That's got some mojo.
Is it real or a relic job?

I found Ditto OK for our stuff.
What’s the benefit of Distro Kid? I may swap for our Christmas song.
You'd have to do the research. They all do pretty much do the same thing, but I found Distro Kid to be the best all rounder.
However. If you already have music with another distributor that you're happy with I don't think I'd bother changing just for the sake of it.

"What makes your sound?"
Stumbling over strings and missing notes generally.

Given price is 15/- has to be pre-1971
I don't even know what 15/- means.
But in that case, that particular weekend I would have been busy not yet existing.

Yup.
I did a lot of research a couple of years ago when we released our first single and came to the conclusion that Distro Kid was the best way to go. It's really easy to use, takes care of pretty much everything automatically. Doesn't take any commission, and it's really inexpensive.
Do a Google search for Distro Kid code and you'll be able to find a discount to get it even cheaper for your first year.

I wish I'd stuck at it when I first started learning to play at 15 instead of packing in for the next 25 years. I may have been proficient by now.
I regret trading in my old Ibanez lawsuit era Rick for a guitar that I never really learned how to play. I think I got £50 for it trade in value. Closest thing you could get to a real Rick for under a grand now.
I also regret selling my orange 4x10 cab and Marshall Guvnor distortion pedal for fifty quid because I needed to tax my car.

What year was it?
Unless I'm blind or daft (probably both) I can't see any mention of the year on the poster.

I'll probably drop by the depression thread at some point and explain a little more 🙃
Please do. It's genuinely been a life saver for some of us. It always helps to know that you're not alone and other people are in the same boat.
I've found through this forum that the support of strangers can be a really powerful thing.

I guess that's why there's no mention of payment. It doesn't help not to at least make reference to the fees paid. Many of us don't only play bass as a hobby..? I'm in Yorkshire too!
In fairness the add does say to contact the OP if you're interested. So it would only take a quick message to find out if its something you're genuinely interested in.

Ooh that's tasty!
I love the red.

The lead singer in my band really puts me in my place and constantly tells me I'm in the wrong.
Mind you. It's probably my own fault for marrying her.

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but given the comments so far, I'm not looking forward to it. 😂
Oh well.
That's the luck of the draw.

I've got some underpants with holes in.
Not exclusively for gigging. I just live in poverty.

By my back-of-fag-packet calcs you'd have to be getting at least £312 per person per gig to make it worthwhile it being your only job (assuming equivalent to 37.5h/wk job @ nat min wage of £10.42 = equivalent annual salary of £20,280, divided by 65). I'm sure there's a lot more to it than this but on the face of it it doesn't sound a particularly attractive prospect from a financial point of view.
Being in a band never does. 😂

Does playing in a tribute band pay well? I appreciate it’s a bit of vague question with variables.
I was wondering the same as the add says that while you can work around it you have to commit to it as your primary job (or words to that effect) and there's about 65 gigs a year.
They'd have to be really well paid gigs.

How do you feel about meeting half way for a sale?
I'm thinking maybe around Vienna. 😂

Nice one. Sounds like you struck gold there.
£30 an hour is a good price for face to face lessons. I was paying that to my so called teacher 15 years ago.

Wow!
I'd take your arm off at that price if I was in the UK.

Actually, I'm kinda with you. However, I see conversations all the time (not on THIS site, of course..:)...), that suggest that many bassist can hear the tiniest of differences. Just wondering how they do that....
I have no doubt that some people can. Probably those who have years of experience playing through different rigs, or sound engineers who can pick up on the most subtle differences.
I'm definitely not one of them. 😆

I'd give my right nut for this!
I'm not sure what my right nut is worth, but would you consider a trade?
